We were a group of around 20 adults plus 16 children (under 5) and it was perfect for us! There were activities galore and a variety of spaces for us to socialise, retreat to or explore. The food was amazing and they even designed the children’s menu to suit toddlers. They went above and beyond to ensure every age was taken care including two games rooms (one for kids and one for adults), pilates and an amazing masseuse.
We also loved the fact all the rooms are connected by a long hallway - baby monitors worked or the kids simply just walked down into the lounge/dining room if they couldn’t/wouldn’t sleep :-)
We had a DJ in the group too who was able to set up with the lodges own sound/light equipment to take us through to the New Year. So from kiddies life jackets for the rowboat or espresso martini’s for us adults in the evening this lodge has it all. PLUS the amazing views! We will be back!

Raetihi Lodge is an escape like no other. In the Kenepuru Sounds, from Allan’s wonderful greeting at the onset and informative narrative of just about anything in the area - truly an infectious personality skills, to wife Lianne’s tour of the premises, not withstanding Frank and Elodie’s amazing hospitality in the restaurant and facilities.... this location and lodge is hard to beat. Upmarket, yet informal. Fabulous food catered to individual needs. Relaxing, restorative and a lot of fun. Oh, forgot the pool table and gaiety in the evenings, plus free kayaks. Don’t second guess yourself.... book your stay!

Wow, thank you for your very kind feedback - it's really appreciated, and we're so happy you had a wonderful stay with us. We would love to welcome you back any time. Take care, Liane Even though the Raetihi Lodge model of Exclusive Use Bookings is still our main business model, it has been a delight to open some pop-up accommodation and the restaurant and meet such lovely guests. This only continues until the end of May 2021.

From the moment we arrived until we were dropped off in Havelock we were well taken care of. The owners and staff clearly have a love for taking care of people. Our Sales Team was there for 4 nights and I am usually ready to leave a place after that amount of time but I had no desire to leave. It is the perfect place to bring your Group, the scenery is incredible, the food was great and the service was fantastic....did I mention the excellent service?😊 The food was delicious, we enjoyed Greenlip mussels harvested from Marlborough Sounds, Great nibbles for Cocktail hour, perfectly cooked Filet Mignon, excellent fish and chips and mouthwatering Lamb stew. All specialty coffees were made to order and were available throughout the day. The scenery was mindblowing, I couldn’t resist getting up to watch the sunrise each morning and highly recommend taking an early morning kayak. There was a massage therapist on staff- it was truly one of the best massages I’ve ever had- Julie has great energy and hands! I’m already thinking about how I can get my group of friends there for my next big birthday celebration! Thank you Liane and Allen, for a beautiful visit and a lifetime memory.

Thank you Jenn! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay here and found our lodge to be an idyllic place for your Sales Team and corporate meetings. Finding that balance between blending work with team building & meetings, entwined with nature, bush walks and outdoor water activities is an amazing opportunity for those involved, and your team were delighted to be given that gift. You were all wonderful guests I hope your time in the Marlborough vineyards cements all that information and wine tasting over the last few days with the Astrolabe team. It’s been lovely seeing the synergy and mutual respect between both companies develop further over the few days. Thanks for your kind words and we hope to welcome you back here to Raetihi one day in the future. Best, Liane & Alan

There is only one issue with Raetihi lodge and that’s the fact at somepoint you have to leave! We were blown away by this place, it might be a cliche but these are memories that will literally last a lifetime.

The location and surroundings are stunning like a postcard! with lots of walks you can do close by. The lodge gives you use of bikes and kayaks and you can even take a very short walk to see glow worms.

The room and lodge itself had everything you could need. There was a sea view deck outside your room which was very private. Beds are big and comfortable and the nights are very cool. You have use of other rooms to lounge about in which has a pool table in and a TV.

Don’t forget to look up at night, some of the best starts I’ve seen have been here. Second must is to have a massage (Julie has become world famous) highly recommend!

Probably the best parts though Is the food and just how accommodating and friendly everyone here is. It’s little things like being called by your first name and people taking the time to ask about you and how your day was. These people really made it and you felt like you were part of the family, nothing was to much trouble. The food was amazing, my parter had some gluten free food which they went above and beyond for. With breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by an amazing chef you definitely will not go hungry!

We had an amazing dinner for New Year’s Eve when we stayed during this time, they again really went out of their way to make it a special night.

Liane, Alan and the Raetihi family thank you so much!

Dan and Cara,

We've just had a group of 18 adults and 3 kids enjoy a wonderful relaxing weekend with Leanne, Allan and their team. Just a beautiful spot, run by beautiful people who felt there was nothing too much or too little to help us enjoy our time there. Excellent food, service, and a great range of activities to wile away the time with family and friends, surrounded by the iconic beauty of the Marlborough sounds. We'll be back.

Coming from a travel background I have extremely high expectations and Raetihi lodge blew them away!

There is so much to do or not to do if that's your preference .....have a massage, kayak to the shipwreck, play a round of golf, grab a mountain bike, swim, paddle board, go for a walk, read a book in the library, or just chill with a glass of wine or cocktail waiting in anticipation for your next gourmet meal!

The room and lodge itself had everything you could need. There was a sea view deck outside your room which was very private. Beds are big and comfortable. You have use of other rooms to lounge about in, plenty of room for an extended family or even a corporate group.

Probably the best parts though is the food and just how accommodating and friendly everyone is. Nothing was too much trouble for the team.

We had an amazing seven course degustation dinner for New Year’s Eve and they went out of their way to make it a special night with games and fireworks.

Liane, Alan, Franck, Elodie and the Raetihi family, thanks for giving us such a memorable holiday, we will be back for sure!!

Where to start… such an amazing experience! We came for 2 nights and ended staying 4. Liane and Elodie went the extra mile to find us a room and allow us to stay longer.
Liane and Alan, the owners, made us feel like home.
The lodge is situated in a beautiful bay with great swimming, kayaking, walking and biking right on your doorstep. You’ll never get bored!
Their small team are superb and super friendly. Franck and Elodie, the managers, are fantastic! Elodie makes the MOST AMAZING breads, and Franck creates beautiful menus and gives you good tips on local wines to pair with the food. Eve’s boysenberry cake on our last night was 11/10!
We had a great New Years Eve enjoying a 7-courses degustation menu, drinks and fireworks .
Can’t recommend it enough! Will definitely come back :)

Great place to de-stress. Amenities top class, walk up the 'steep bit' hill is quite steep for those visiting from Australia! View from top of hill spectacular. Hosts friendly, massage divine, food delicious and great portions. Cocktails very easy to drink in the lounge.

Fabulous accommodation in the most idyllic setting right on the water. Our large family of just over 30 all loved it, there is so much to do. Raetihi Lodge is set up for relaxation but there are also so many options to entertain you, games room, library with pool table, and even a large grassed soccer net. The jetty for our boat was an added bonus. Some of the best hospitality we have experienced, Liane and Allan are wonderful hosts. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed.
