This place was really good. The beds had property duvets and were comfy and cosy. The hostel itself overlooks the sea and the views are great. Free wifi is available but it did go on and off a lot. Nice and clean. Very good, would recommend

Leanne and Angus are very involved in the day to day running of their hostel. Everything is clean and well cared for and the setting is beautiful. We were lucky to have a double pod which was slightly removed from the main house but still accessible to all the facilities. The kitchen was well equiped for cooking, the showers were modern and efficient, the toilets were an eco system but absolutely fine. In the evening a fire was lit on the balcony to sit around, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Adorable hostel with very nice and helpful owners. They really do look after you! The bathroom was modern and clean, the beds in the loft were amazing, it felt like Hogwarts! Free wifi, even though it didn't always work. Only downside was that there wasn't a real toilet, only a long-drop. Other than that, great hostel!

I never stayed in hostel there I felt more welcome. Leanne and Angus not only gave us a hearty welcome, they were full of information what we can do. They organised us a individual bone carving and I loved the evenings around the camp fire. The hostel itself is the perfect place to relax and to take a break from everyday life. You can enjoy the wonderful view over the bay, especially at sunrise. And the kitchen was so clean and well equipped. There are lots of books and Cd's. It's a place there people come together. I couldn't discribe my stay in the hostel better than "Stranded in Paradise". Then we left it felt like leaving the paradise. Thank you, Leanne and Angus, for the best time in New Zealand!

We stayed four nights at Stranded in Paradise. The hostel overlooks Tokomaru Bay and the beach is only 3 min walk away. Very clean and welcoming, not too big (about 15 guests max) and all ages - young travellers, families and older couples. There is everything you need - hammocks, fireplace, barbecue, surfboards, nice outdoor and outdoor areas to hang out. Angus and Leanne were very warm and friendly hosts, and we really appreciated all the efforts they made for us to have a good time, from driving us to a safe spot to surf, to moving us to the nicest camping spot when it became available. Really relaxing stay away from the city, we will be back, hopefully sooner than later :) ! Thanks for the wonderful stay
