Stayed 3 nights in a studio room not bad. You get what you pay for in retrospect I should have gotten a bigger room. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced. As you would expect the food is typical of what we call pub grub.

We stopped in for a late lunch mid afternoon. Friendly service and a good range of options on the menu. Good burger. fries and cheesy wedges were good. All in all, good hot food and reasonably priced. Service was fast. Cool moment we observed was while no-customer was at the bar, one of the staff prepared a drink which was handed to a local as they walked in the door. Obviously saw them park so proactively prepared…..nice!

Travelling south to north through the Catlins there are not many options to purchase food so we were very happy to pop in here for lunch and a drink. The menu and drinks list offer enough. The food was good the beer cold and the service friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating available as is take away alcohol.

After 3 hours waiting for the Yellow eyed pinguin were late for dinner and decided to try this cafe. We were not disappoited, the welcome was friendly and warm, we choose to order the "Catch of the day" for NZ$ 18,50. 15 minutes later we got a plate with pan fried fish, pan fried potatoes, sweet potatoe, pumpkin and fresh salad. The food looked good and tasted fine, this is food as cooked at home, simple, tasty and cooked with a warm heart. For this kind of occasions it was a pleasure to eat our dinner here.
