Detailed Reviews
An absolute gem of a place if you are looking for peace and quiet surrounded by nature. If you know this area you will know that you are close to stunning walks, beaches and amazing views. This lovely little place is right in the middle of the countryside.
The rooms are of high standard with underfloor heating for the winter months. Well stocked kitchen area (no oven but microwave). The patios are surrounded by trees or hedges so all private and sun traps where you can sit, read and listen to the birds.
There are beautiful gardens with little trails snd a lovely pool and sunbathing areas.
The staff are all lovely and helpful and the breakfast has lots of choice with fresh fruits, breads, eggs/omelettes, cereals, cheeses, yoghurts hams.
Highly recommended to relax and re charge.

Great stay with our family in this magnificent human scaled resort. The refined and local architecture of the built volumes blends in perfectly with the surrounding peaceful scenery.
The friendliness of the staff made us feel welcome and the cuisine offered not only unforgettable breakfasts but also very tasteful dinners.
A place to cherish and to come back too.

We enjoyed our stay at Monte Da Vilarinha. A car is needed unless you just want to chill there, walk /hike (to the beach and Petrava where there are some restaurants) and cook your own meals (kitchen is well equipped , no oven though). However they do provide dinners , which we had once. The breakfast spread was great! The staff are very nice and friendly.
I couldn’t give it 5 stars because the shower area had some mould, we could hear the people in the apartment next to us, and you have to pay 20euros per night for a cot bed (<1 y) !

I was meant to visit this place in August with my son for a weeks holiday…..our first holiday since covid.
Despite reserving a room in April (that’s 4 months in advance) I got an email the night before my flight telling me that there had been a mistake by staff and my reservation hadn’t actually been put in the system.
So 12 hours before landing in Portugal I had no accommodation - cue an absolutely stressful mad hunt to find an alternative.
Really shoddy - yes mistakes happen but they barely sounded bothered….and found us alternative accommodation in what looked like a surfers hostel. Ideal!
Avoid.

Perfect. Just what we needed to unwind and put life back into perspective. What a wonderful place. Beautiful accommodation, just the right balance of perfect and comfortable and great breakfast. It’s rare to find somewhere that feels really upmarket but very simple and comfortable. We loved it and hopefully will go back sometime. It is isolated and the road is little more than a track but it’s well worth the journey. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay at Monte Da Vilarinha. The area is beautiful: you get to have both the beaches and the countryside in the nearby surroundings. The hotel staff is super friendly, the studios with kitchen are well equipped & clean and the breakfast was delicious. The dog was very cute (we will miss her 😄). Perfect hideaway from mass tourism, we would recommend this place!

My husband and I spent one week in the accommodation. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast amazing and all stuff employees very nice and helpful.
However, as the hotel is located right in the nature, you will need a car in order to explore the Algarve, go to beaches. With car, it takes about approx 8 mins to reach beautiful beaches (praia do amado and braia do bordeira) that are perfect for surfing lessons :)
