I had a lovely 4 night stay as a solo traveler at Cooks Oasis. Only a short 50m walk down to the beach on the western side, a more peaceful side with stunning sunsets and great snorkeling. My garden villa was spacious and clean, it had everything I needed and I felt very safe. There were a lot of little extras - free wifi (high speed), free use of laundry, kayaks etc and the resort supplies UV treated water, so you don't have to go and fill up your own water bottles from one of the water stations around the island. I loved the location, walking distance to a popular Cocktail and Tapas bar, and also beach bars further down the beach. Bus stop is just at the end of the driveway if you wish to explore other areas of the island. Mostly, being a bit smaller, the Cooks Oasis has a lovely relaxed island feel to it, with caring staff and managers who will always take the time to chat. Marianne was an absolute gem and they are doing a wonderful job!

We had a lovely stay at this motel. It's clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. When we arrived, our room had a bowl of fresh tropical fruit and beautiful hibiscus flowers. We appreciated all of the extras, including coffee in the room, beach as well as bath towels, snorkel equipment, and kayaks for guest use. Laundry was free, and the motel has a lovely pool as well. They even provide books and DVDs for rainy days!
The owners, Matty and Erin, were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants and helped us book a snorkeling trip with giant turtles. They even helped us with transportation. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you!

My two week stay at the Cooks Oasis Resort was the best ever. Hosts Lin and Wayne couldn't have been more accommodating. They were very friendly and were happy to book me on Tours and Activities. They also recommended many great places to eat which they had personally experienced themselves. I was treated like I was a friend, not just a customer. The Resort is nestled in a side road on the beach side of the Main Road in a good position and only a short walk down to the beach where you could swim and snorkel. Kayaks were also available for use. There is also a small splash pool and Lin arranged for Pip (Pippilou's Massage) to provide a massage by the pool, The rooms were a good size and were decorated with island style accessories. Elisha, their lovely staff member, added an extra touch with local flowers on the towels and fruit bowls. She was also very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the Cooks Oasis to anyone wanting a smaller, more personal and quiet resort accommodation. I can't wait to go back to Rarotonga and stay there again. Jan, Australia

Lin and Wayne went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Our advice: contact them ahead of your trip to make the most out your stay with restaurant, rental car and tour booking recommendations as opposed to winging it when you get there like we did just as tourists are starting to flock back to the Cook Islands.
Villa 8, was a spacious and airy two bed upstairs villa with a wrap around balcony from which we enjoyed a glimpse of the ocean as well as spectacular sunsets. Facilities include the refreshing little outdoor pool, communal BBQ area (with delightful revelation of a stalk of bananas we were welcome to help ourselves to during our stay. Tip: freeze slices of banana to make chilled smoothies), snorkel and kayaking gear, library and DVD collection, laundry and a fruit basket in our room. Short walk to the beach and lagoon area. Good quality bathroom and beach towels, very clean rooms, coffee plunger put to good use and filtered water available to replenish our complimentary bottle on arrival. Bakery across the road (just try and resist the doughnuts!), BlackRock shop within easy walking distance, Sunset Resort restaurant next door were very welcoming. Not a full on resort style place but that's what we loved about it, more independent, self catering and facilities to make use of and helpful local advice on hand when you need it.

This was my second stay at The Cooks Oasis and I would definitely stay there again! It’s such an amazing place to relax and recharge. The owners Matty and Erin are the most warm and welcoming hosts, clearly passionate about providing the best experience to their guests. They’re fun to chat with and know the best places plus fun stuff to do. Even though it was the first time we’ve met, it felt like I’d known them for years.
The Cook Oasis is an impeccable kept little complex of villas. Our villas were spacious, bright, very clean, well-equipped and comfortable. From the also spacious balconies we enjoyed the beautiful garden, a glimpse of the ocean and gorgeous sunsets. Fresh tropical fruit was waiting on our arrival, along with tea, coffee, milk and water. Filtered water and a laundry facility are available free of charge, as well as the use of snorkel gear, reef shoes and canoes. The coconut tree framed beach is only a very short walk down the path.
What a fabulous home away from home! Meitaki Ma’ata Erin & Matty for making paradise even more unforgettable 🙏🏼 🫶

Our stay at The Cooks Oasis was everything and more that we could have dreamed of for our first trip to Rarotonga. Our hosts Matty and Erin were wonderful! Between being available and happy to answer all our questions to assisting us in making reservations for different excursions and dinners, it was evident that they are passionate about providing the best experience to all those staying with them at The Cooks Oasis!
Our villa was stunning; bright and spacious with a comfortable king bed and convenient kitchenette which was very handy for the days we stayed in to eat. The unit was meticulously serviced multiple times a week by the resort’s housekeeper Elisa who was very sweet. The resort’s rich garden foliage and lattice on the patio allowed each unit a comfortable level of outside privacy. The beach was well kept and the lagoon was a perfect mix of clear sand-only areas and brightly coloured fringing reef; perfect for hours of snorkelling and floating! After a hot afternoon of beaching, we would end the day with a dip in the resort pool. Within walking distance of The Cooks Oasis is a delicious bakery and a few options for delicious sit down meals- most notably Kikau Hut next door! To close off the evening we’d make our way back to the beach to watch a spectacular sunset.
Overall, I cannot express enough how wonderful our two weeks were at The Cooks Oasis. We have decided to come back next year and extend our stay to a month. Thank you Matty and Erin for your hospitality and making our experience unforgettable!
I will end the review with some noteworthy mentions to check out in Raro:
* Kai Guy food truck * Trader Jacks restaurant * Koka Lagoon Cruises * Trip to Aitutaki with The Vaka Cruise

The Cook oasis is an impeccable kept little complex of villas. The owners, Lin and Wayne are ever so friendly and approachable and only too happy to do anything possible to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. It’s like being at home with all your creature comforts and they add extra little touches to your room which makes them so beautiful. The beach is just a little walk down the lane where you can snorkel, kayak or just sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There is a bus stop not too far down the road where you can catch a bus around the island in both directions. A bakery, liquor shop and corner shop are all in walking distance where you can grab some basics for your stay. Very quiet. Had a very memorable stay and we look forward to returning again one day.

I loved every second of our trip to Rarotonga and staying at The Cooks Oasis was definitely the best part! Matty and Erin are the most warm and welcoming hosts you could ask for, constantly going above and beyond to be helpful and ensure we were enjoying every part of our stay. The Villas are spectacular with a bright and open concept and everything you could need to stay comfortably for an extended time from comfy beds to all of the kitchen appliances and utensils, they’re very well-equipped for preparing your own meals and enjoying time spent in the rooms. A bowl full of fresh, local fruit upon your arrival and free filtered water are the little added touches you can come to expect at the Cooks Oasis. In addition, the resort itself is small, quiet, and friendly with only 9 villas, Matty and Erin develop a community feel with all guests making it a very welcoming place for everyone. They even host nights at a local eatery and invite the guests to hang out and get to know each other which is so unique and appreciated by everyone. Their knowledge of and recommendations for Island events are always offered up when you stop by reception or written on the board for the daily activities. The beach is a mere stones throw away and the snorkelling right off the beach is nothing short of perfection. Plenty of coral and all the fish you could see on any snorkelling excursion plus Matty and Erin have plenty of snorkels, masks, and reef shoes for guests. The beach also has plenty of palms for shade where you can easily hang out for the day. They also have sea kayaks free to use for guests. There are numerous options for local food and coffee that are walking distance from The Cooks Oasis. Anchorage is great for both coffee, lunch, and dinner and the Kikau Hut right next door has an elevated dining experience with an amazing seafood platter. We also rented e-bikes and easily toured the entire island. Some notable excursions that are definitely worth doing were the Ariimoana Reef Walk, the Local Turtle Tour, and Pa’s Cross Island Trek through Maunga Tours. I highly recommend hiring tours as all 3 activities are guided by experienced locals who have a lifetime of knowledge about the history but more importantly, the safety for each activity. For the location (proximity to the airport and beach), price, and hospitality of the hosts, Matty and Erin, I couldn’t recommend The Cooks Oasis more highly and definitely will be returning as soon as possible!

Marty and Erin make you feel welcome the moment you walk into the place. Friendly, caring and pleased to welcome you all sets you up for a terrific stay. Nothing is too much trouble and they maintain a spotless group of cabins which just cry out ..’relax’. And you do. Fully self catering if you do that sort of thing with external BBQ area if you want. Lovely pool and chill out area adds to the ambience. A very short walk down to the beautiful lagoon and paradise is here. Can’t recommend this home from home enough. Enjoy and chill.

100% would stay here again. Suites are even BETTER than the photos, the pool is perfect for an afternoon dip and the beach and lagoon location area is spectacular for a little relax and snorkle. Most of all, the hosts, Erin and Matty, are such friendly people and, honestly, if you landed in Rarotonga without any itinerary, they are so connected to the island they would be able to recommend the best restaurants and day trips for you! They even told all of the people at the resort one afternoon that their friend was playing live music at a specific restaurant the next day and that we should join. It was so fun to meet the other Cooks Oasis guests. We had a wonderful experience at this resort. It really made our stay.
