Detailed Reviews
With Covid19, my trip was cancelled multiple times, but Geraldine and Steve were very accommodating with all the date changes and flight number changes over the nine month period before I finally managed to return.
They've been very busy with the paint brushes whilst the Cooks have been closed to tourists.
I made it back a few weeks after the bubble opened, so the Island was quieter than normal for obvious reasons.
But the shipwreck hut still had its live music on the Tuesday and Thursday night during the week which was lovely - as was the fish curry on the menu (which I don;t remember from last time).
Very friendly staff, 18+ and a great place to relax and unwind.
With flights booked already, I can't wait to go back!

Kia Orana, Huge thanks for taking the time to write a fantastic, and informative, review. We really appreciate your comments. You are right, the fish curry (now our most popular dish) is new this year, very happy that you enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing you back again soon. Meitaki ma'ata, Steve, Geraldine and the A Team.

This was the perfect place for a wonderful eleven night stay. Everything you need is right here. Great location right on the beach (lovely sunsets). The accommodation has really good sized rooms; a new pool and the Shipwreck Hut bar where you get good meals and live music in the evenings. The bus stops right outside so easy to get around the island. Also just a short walk to the general store for supplies, so everything is very handy. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the great service was consistent throughout our stay. Lisa the manager went out of her way to ensure our stay was stress free and comfortable, going above and beyond our expectations. She is a real gem. Many thanks to the whole team. Denise and Rob

Gorgeous garden setting flowing right onto a beach where you are lucky to see another person passing by. Great snorkeling, great bar food at great prices, comfy nicely appointed thoughtful accom. Don't miss the fish curry for $20 - swordfish one night, marlin the next.
Was given a surprise upgrade to deluxe so I could be near a friend. Adjoining decks perfect. This is a small adults venue with a personable feel vs. resort. No need for a pool. Hammocks, quiet & sheltered from occ. rain. Staff are so warm & friendly & a nightly drink at the Shipwreck Hut is a must. Steve & Geraldine are the owners. There is nothing they won't help you with. Anna is Office Manager and is the same. Just awesome people and an awesome place.

Kia Orana, Thank you so much for your amazing review. We really appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback and we're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. It was an absolute pleasure to host you, it was even more special as you were one of our first arrivals after the frustration of the second lock-down. We really hope that you'll come back and see us very soon. Meitaki ma'ata, Steve, Geraldine and the A Team.

What a beautiful spot to have accom and eating area. Right on the beach. The gardens are kept immaculate. The rooms are clean. They will clean every day or only if you need.
totally self contained
Locker with padlock. You have the key
Al is the boss. This bloke will do anything to make your stay easy and comfortable. He unlocked our room twice, drove us around to find a car rental. The staff are awesome, always ready to help, give you a heads up on what activities are top of the list to do
The food from the shipwreck bar is always good. The vibe is just right
People come in from all over to eat there but it’s never overcrowded
Also whales every day out front (spot a whale. Get a free cocktail). Snorkeling right out front
This place is the bomb

What a beautiful place. Accommodation was very comfortable and looks out over the water. Right on the beach. Snorkeling is incredible, and the ocean is so warm. You can use at no extra cost the Snorkeling gear, kayaks and stand up paddle boards. Sunsets are special. Shipwreck bar is right here and serves great food and great cocktails. Free wifi. What more could a girl want. Aro'a has it all. It was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. I will definitely be heading back here.

Our second visit to Aro'a and we weren't disappointed. We had arranged with the resort to have a very small, simple beachside wedding and they went out of their way to assist us. Thanks to Lisa and Sonny for being our witnesses
and for making it a memorable day.
This is our favorite part of Rarotonga with fabulous snorkeling off the beach in front of our unit. Great relaxed atmosphere with fabulous live music. Thanks again to Lisa and all the staff for making this a memorable visit.
Donna and Steve.

A’roa Beachside was a great place to stay. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed for a beach holiday. The staff were really friendly and helpful. It was great to wake up and be able to go for a swim in either the pool or the sea. We felt this side of the island was better for weather, swimming and better sunsets. The food was great and they had live music playing at the Shipwreck Hut each night. Didn’t go late so great if you wanted an early night. We would definitely stay here again as the staff were so friendly and helpful.

A perfect place for a perfect holiday 👌 😍. Hospitality has been so amazing. The staff are very friendly. Feels like home.
Lovely location. Beach front. Shipwreck restaurant literally within the resort. What more can you ask for?
We stayed here twice on both visits to Rarotonga.
On our return from Aitutaki, Lisa organised airport transfers for us.
We arrived Rarotonga on a Sunday and wanted to go to Muri night market. Lisa kindly lent us her car and literally said "go have fun girls".
We were shocked. The kindness is outstanding.
I 💯 recommend this place.
We'll be back!!!.
From the sisters in villa 8/9 🥰

We are so lucky we found this little slice of heaven. It really is the best. The manager Lisa is legend and does a fantastic job running the resort. The shipwreck bar has to be the best on the island with gorgeous food and yummy cocktails. Come here to see the best sunset on the island.

I spent two wonderful days at Aroa Beachside Resort. Location is fantastic, great walks along the white sandy beach, comfortable bungalow with sheltered terrace, excellent fish curry at the in-house Shipwreck restaurant, met interesting travelers in the beach bar, very friendly staff….one of my favorite accommodation in Rarotonga. I will be definitely back in a few months.

There is a boat cruise down on Miri Brach that is really well done. But the best BY FAR. Is the Vaka Cruise on Aitutaki. The staff at the Aroa can help you set up either.
Kia Orana, Steve here, owner of the Aro'a Beachside Inn. We are constantly improving our property. This was the first ever comment that we had about pillows. We had ordered replacement pillows for all rooms (before this comment was made...) they should be here any day soon.
As is often the case, guests leave comments on this public forum anonymous website. If people are not happy with something it is far better to say something at the time, then we can rectify any problems, if we don't know we can't do anything.
Kia Orana, the closest little supermarket is about 250 m away.
