In the evenings there was music playing either from neighbor rooms or the restaurant. Curtains are thin, lights outside shine inside. Cigarette smoke entering the aircon intake. Miserable room. Really bad for sleeping. Breakfast was an underwhelming selection of cereal, fruit and juice.

We are a family of 5 (3 kids) and absolutely loved our stay. We stayed at one of the villas on the beach with 3 bedrooms. Amazing. So much for kids to do, loved kids club. Snorkeling in the sea outside our villa was incredible. Villa was Clean, tidy, lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be back ! Recommend reef shoes as quite abit of coral but makes it an incredible place to snorkel.

The Edgewater is an older style of resort staffed with the friendliest people you could ever come across. The breakfast is fine, we found that during the day when we were out and about we snacked on local produce and went out of the resort to local restaurants for evening meals. Hire a car, motorcycle or e-bike and explore the island. It's basically a ring around the island of 32km, that takes about an hour and a half to go around. everybody drives slowly (40-50kph) which is a nice change from Australia. Must visit spots include Muri Lagoon which is just as you would expect a Pacific scene to look like, crystal clear and blue. Hire a canoe or paddle board there as it's so pretty. Our room at the resort was an ocean view with a million dollar outlook, honestly you get the same outlook as the more expensive resorts at less than half price. The island is surrounded by a safe lagoon which affords snorkelling at any beach you care to stop at. We are definitely coming back, the Cook Islands has replaced the Bali or Thailand trip for us now, as it is much cleaner and nicer here.…

I am visiting Raro for a family wedding and accidentally broke a nail. Since I had a dip manicure just before I left the US, I assumed I would be out of luck. I visited the Edgewater Spa and Dani couldn't be more accommodating. Even though the salon didn't offer dip manicures, she was able to repair my nail and match the color. Problem solved. This was our second trip to Rarotonga staying at the edgewater hotel and we loved it. This time round we stayed in a beach front villa which was absolutely amazing. The rooms were awesome, I'll say its a must get for families with kids because it has everything you need from stove and oven to a washing machine. The 2 youngest spent most of their time in the pool and swimming out front of our villa. The day staff were absolutely amazing especially Treen she was ace a really awesome lady. The spa was awesome Kathy is absolutely amazing do stop in there the offer alot of services. Thankyou edgewater for the awesome stay we defs will back

Hit and miss. At times the resort was lovely, attentive staff and good food. At other times it was awful. Other visitors blasting music at all hours, yelling in adjacent rooms early in the morning, kids screaming outside our room at 630am at the beach. Staff much of the time were fairly slow and found it difficult to split table bills, yet the following day there would be different staff who were quick, attentive and professional. If you want a quiet relaxed holiday, maybe go somewhere else. If you have kids, this is probably the place for you. Also don't bother paying for a cooked buffet. There's a Cafe over the road that does an awesome cooked brekkie

The hotel grounds are big and have things for the kids to do which is nice but we found the rooms to be very outdated and simple but for the price it’s expected. The service could do with some tweaking the day we arrived there was plates, cups and chicken left at the top of the stairs and when we were leaving the next day they were still there! Pretty disgusting considering rooms where still being cleaned when we arrived and staff had gone past it. Also there’s no real service with a smile and when asking people anything it felt like an effort! One more thing if someone emails your hotel asking if anything was left it would be nice to get a reply. Thank you

This is our second visit to the Edgewater. This time we've been staying in a 3 bedroom villa - it's been perfect for our kids, parents and grandparents trip. The resort is right on the beach and offers free beach towels, shoes, and snorkels so you can go for a swim in the lagoon. It is on the west side of the island though which isn't as stunning as Muri beach, but it's still a nice swimming beach and the kids have had a blast getting in the water at least once a day. We visited in October which is when the whales come to Rarotonga, and most mornings we would spot at least one whale spout while we ate breakfast. The villa itself is reasonable - not super flash but comfortable. Having a kitchenette is handy, and the rooms are air conditioned which is nice on the hotter days. The on site bar and restaurant is hit and miss - some of the staff are attentive but others will take forever to get your drinks out to you. The fish and beef burgers at lunch were great but some of the dinner meals were bland. The cocktails aren't that great either. You don't have to go there though - there's other places to eat and drink close by, it's just a convenient option. Overall it was good and we'd consider it again the next time we come to Raro.…
