The Burghotel Staufeneck impresses with its fantastic location above Salach. Our premium room was very spacious and well equipped, the beds were pleasantly soft, the bathroom was adequate and modern.
The new wellness area is stylish, has a panoramic sauna with a wonderful view of the valley, experience showers and an inviting relaxation room. Unfortunately, there were some shortcomings in the service. The whole day we were there, there were no towels in the toilets, and the wellness music that was playing the day before was also turned off that day. Service staff - none whatsoever, no one was to be seen in the area all day.
The restaurant oifach andersch is good, but I would have liked more attentive staff here too. The omelette for breakfast on the first day was unfortunately burnt and dry, but on the second day it was excellent, as was the whole buffet.
Unfortunately, the star restaurant is only open from Thursday to Saturday, so we couldn't test it. I would have liked it to be open on Sundays too. The terrace is landscaped with lots of greenery and invites you to linger. Cake for afternoon coffee is only available on weekends, so there is still room for improvement.
Overall, a lovely wellness hotel that doesn't quite live up to its 5-star rating.

Burg Staufeneck is a very pleasant hotel, located not far from Stuttgart.
The hotel's area in nature is very calming and beautiful.
The room was well equipped and spacious.
The highlight of the stay was the breakfast. The quality of the ingredients, freshness of the fruits and vegetables, as well as the quality of the home made breads and pastries are unparalleled. Simply the best hotel breakfast I ever had in the thousands of nights I spent in hotels worldwide
Highly recommended for a calm stay in nature

The newly renovated rooms are perfect, the whole house is very tastefully decorated, the outdoor area is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and helpful everywhere, and the food in the castle restaurant "Oifach andersch" is very good.
The only thing is that the bosses are not friendly and did not greet us as guests either in the restaurant or at breakfast. It's a shame that it spoils the overall impression.

enjoyed a most fantastic stay and a fabulous dinner - the restaurant is stunning by the quality, harmony and creativity of the dishes. Although there is just one menu, that is perfect to spend some time in a gastronomic heaven. Merits more than the actual one Michelin star. Competent staff and great selection of wines. All in all a truly great stay. Competent and friendly personnel. If there is just one element : the sekt was not really at the right temperature but that was coorected swiftly

A hotel where there is really nothing to complain about.
I was helped as soon as I arrived and was shown everything in a friendly manner. The many small details that make a stay more pleasant are particularly noticeable here.
From the reception to the wellness area to the restaurant and the bar - everything was perfect. You feel at home here

The rooms are very nice, and very good beds. The hotel has 2 restaurants and the service was very good, the food was tasty. It has a nice view of the valley. We did have a bit of inconvenience in the restaurant due to a wedding party that was in the restaurant with us.

For my wife and me this hotel used to be very special. We had been here on two previous occasions. When we decided to get married we wanted it to be very private and special: a ceremony down in the village of Salach, and two perfect days at the Hotel Burg Staufeneck. We booked the suite and special dinner months in advance, arranged everything with the registration office down in the village and nothing, so it seemed, could go wrong.
However, when we arrived we were shocked to see that heavy construction work was going on with excavators right outside the windows of our suite. We asked the receptionist why no one had thought it necessary to inform us beforehand, even more so because this was a special occasion. Her reply was helpless and stiff: "Oh sorry. What can we do now?" - That was all. Not even the hint of an attempt to work out something to ease the situation.
Since we had no other option - there are no hotels of a similar standard in the vicinity - we moved out of the suite into a double room a bit further away from the works trying to overcome our anger and disappointment.
However, we decided to cancel the second night and the dinner and checked out the next morning. The manageress had the grace to show a little more regret than her employee: a little discount and a bottle of sparkling wine and another "sorry, they (!?) decided to send the excavators just a few weeks ago...".
Why a hotel of this standard cannot inform guests of any inconveniencies before (!) they arrive remains a mistery - even more so when this is such a special occasion! And why a hotel of this standard cannot deal with the complaints of their guests in any better way is ... embarassing.
We still had a good day, after getting married in the village of Salach we moved on to a hotel that met our expectations and went beyond: the Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe in Zweiflingen close to Heilbronn - they had our suite decorated with rose petals, a bottle of champagne was waiting and many other courtesies that show a special service for a special event.
Pity that the staff of Burg Staufeneck were obviously not able or willing to supply the basics of any hotel (a quiet room) let alone take the extra effort to make a newly-wed couple happy.

My partner and I attended one of the best weddings we have ever been to at this wonderful hotel. This was my first ever trip to Germany and I was enchanted. This hotel is fantastic. The food is the knock-out. The service is slick beyond belief. Lovely views. Great rooms with superb bathrooms. Fun small spa.

There is noting negative to say about this hotel: Service cleanliness & food all very good:
We were there due to flight delay because of volcano in iceland: You could be stranded in worse places! Shame there was no swimming pool:, but that said it was all good!

The hotel overall was OK but we have ben told that the restaurant was full. We didnt expect this so we had to ate at the bar from the bar menu ! If you like running , wake up early and take a tour in the country side .
