The staff were so welcoming when checking in, checking out. Especially would like to compliment the lovely lady at the information counter at the lobby, sorry I didn't catch her name! I wanted to book the return journey to Haneda airport on the Keihin Kyuko Bus which we were to do via the bus website. Not having a clue how to go about it, I asked for assistance and the website booking stumped us both. However she went the extra mile to call up the limousine bus company instead and made a booking for me. Thank you so much!
You really couldn't ask for a better hotel than the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu! Great location, incredible views, transport convenience right at the doorstep, helpful and smiling staff :D
Tip: For those who would like to make a day trip to central Tokyo, Minatomirai Station has direct train lines to Shinjuku Station, Meiji-jingumae Station (Harajuku), Ikebukuro Station via the Fukutoshin line. Take the Express or Commuter Limited Express trains as they're faster and cost the same as the local trains, about 30 - 40mins.
I stayed in a City View Deluxe Twin smoking room on the 20th floor.
The room was spacious enough, with a shower booth and toilet with doors that made it seem like a private room, and a bathtub.
Even though the shower booth had a door, water flowed into the sink and the bath mat looked like it was going to get soaked.
I waited about 5 minutes to check in, and once I'd paid, I was able to check out very smoothly by simply returning the room key to the staff at the front desk.
Breakfast was a Tosca buffet.
I was looking forward to it, and couldn't find any details online, so my expectations were building.
It didn't disappoint and was very delicious.
However, I think the layout could be improved.
The seat was at the back of the salad section, but it was quite a hassle to walk behind it when it was crowded.
The room had a very nice balcony.
The request was for a bottle of Champagne during cocktail time, and about two bottles of water per person in the room.
The bath, sink, shower booth, and toilet were all in one space, but they were separated inside and easy to use.
We only had breakfast, but there was a wide variety to choose from, and it was fun to have omelets cooked right in front of you and automatic pancakes.
The bed was a little hard for me.
The hotel itself is a little old and the common spaces such as the lobby seem small, but it is well-cleaned and the staff are very helpful, making it a comfortable stay.
The common space has a tropical interior, but the rooms don't feel tropical at all; they give the impression of a nice hotel from a long time ago.
I wish the TV was a little bigger and had the modern wall-mounted style, but overall I was satisfied.
I'm not sure if there are several breakfast venues, but the restaurant I used had an omelette corner.
"Park View rooms have a more diverse view than bay view rooms. Can see Giant Ferris Wheel, city skyline and harbor views."Read full review
