We stayed 5 nights in Standard Double room (Main building) on third floor.
The hotel is very convenient, 3 mins walk to Ueno station, plenty of restaurant, cafes, shopping, convenient stores.
Our room double bed on the side, with dressing table and 3 seated sofa, which give us plenty of room to sit and open the luggage.
Bathroom with nice bathtub. We don't have heated toilet as it was not working, we try to call the front desk, leave a note on the bathroom door to the housekeeping, didn't get fixed during our 5 nights.
Check in and front desk is located on 2nd floor, the public onsen, vending machines and smoking area is also on the same floor, not much privacy if you're wearing hotel robe and slipper for onsen or if you just want to have a smoke.
If you are a light sleeper, please request the room on higher floor, it's very noisy on the street even after midnight and early morning because of the restaurants and bars, also we can hear the 2nd floor public onsen and water noise from our room in the middle of the night during our stay.
Our booking included breakfast and due to covid 19, they don't served buffet, mainly served with japanese style and we can choose from rice or bread, they didn't change the menu and we have the same food every day, breakfast time is from 7am to 9am, my advise is there are plenty of cafes, not worth to pay top price for breakfast.
Also the hotel have main building and annex building, and they are completely different place where annex building is around the corner on the side street.
Centurion had several hotel in Ueno, make sure you have the correct address details.
There is only one small lift (2 ppl with 2 luggage will fill the lift) for the whole hotel, we stayed during non peak season and quite often we were waiting some time for the lift, there was a note in the reception to encourage guests to use the stairs instead.

CENTURION HOTEL & SPA UENO STATION
This hotel is located in the center of downtown Ueno Ameya Yokocho, and is a business hotel with modern Japanese and Western rooms and a large communal bath with a sauna.
There is an annex directly opposite the main building with a yakiniku restaurant to enter the large communal bath, so when you stay in the annex, you have to go outside once, so it is a little inconsistent hotel.

The Hotel is very close to JR station, and very easily reachable from Narita Airport and if u take the Keisei Skyliner . The rooms are very small , There are many eating joints around the hotel but it gets a bit shady post 11pm as many bars are around the place.
The hotel should put up proper directions on the website for first time travelers
overall a good place to stay and in a nice busy area.

It's a terrible, old hotel and the room smelled terrible. It smelled damp, old and old. For the price I paid I find the quality of the hotel unfortunate. Clearly well located but very neglected the hotel and rooms. I almost changed hotels because of the terrible smell. The room size was also very small for 2 people. The rooms do not have sound insulation, and being in an area bars and lots of nightlife is impossible to rest. Bad call.

We order a double room for a family. After 15 hours trip they gave us a tiny room for 3 people. After over 40 minutes of waiting, neither Agoda or the staff of the hotel gave us a solution. We end up paying extra for another, still tiny and poor ventilated room.
Worst customer service. Very disappointed

I booked this hotel in October for March 2018 trip which’s a superior twin room for 5 people via a website broker. I got the confirmation already. But then I found the reviews here to complain about the room size is too small. So I wrote to the Hotel for reconfirming the room size. surprisedly, hotel came back said my reservation was actually a 25m2 ‘moderate twin room’ due to technical problem. What?! It’s no way for 5 people.

Strongly recommend to reconfirm your room size with this hotel before your departure!

We thought we would treat ourselves to a nicer hotel in Tokyo for our last part of our trip ..we thought paying $400 Aus night would give us a really nice hotel ..
The hotel itself is newish nice & boutique style however the biggest disappointment was the size of the room ..that’s why I’ve given average score ..you literally had no room to move around ..we are a party of 3 & it was way too small ..i I read the reviews & expected small but this was something else ..as well as this the bunk bed was uncomfortable for our son so he came into our small double bed 😌..I asked at front desk if we could have a bit bigger room only to be told that our room was 2nd biggest room in the hotel & to get a bigger room we had to pay 😔..the spa in the hotel was the only saving grace ..very well equipped ..ample products ..great massage chairs & sauna & a very hot spa ..the position of the hotel is great ..
The reviews say budget hotel ..I don’t call $400 night budget hotel ..if it was cheaper I wouldn’t complain about small room ..
Would research more next time in Tokyo for a hotel that has bit more space in rooms for price we paid ..on our first part of our Japan trip we stayed also in Ueno in a budget hotel ..the room was small but you could move around & they had a cupboard for luggage storage but this hotel also had no where to store luggage
Wouldn’t stay there again

We had two teenagers and two adults in a room. We had a bed bunk and one queen bed. The room space was small for all of us, and luggage. But we did all sleep comfortably.
Nice tv on the wall but has only 3 stations on Japanese.
Very tiny fridge, tea kettle, and dehumidifier, AC and heavy down blankets.
Bathroom is tiny, has a very high step - watch for your toes! Half deep bath and nice shower. Big bottles with shampoo, conditioner and etc. Its says "organic" on it and many little amenities.
And of course fancy toilet with heated seat and bidet for women.
Room had a view of the wall and it was quiet around.
Breakfast buffet was okay, little bit of everything- eggs, meat, fish, soup, rice, salad, cereal, bread and dessert.

Easy hotel to access from Narita. Take Keiser train (50 min) to Ueno station, it will cost $25 per person, for kids under 12 is half price. After station take right to first traffic light, then cross the road on your left , and take first left into "alley" between red bldg and "tsutsumi" store, (see pic below) stay on it almost 5-6 blocks down. Hotel will be on your right, after few small restaurants.
Location is great it's almost in the heart of famous market "Amaykocho"and "family market" few steps away.
Great stay overall, 4 stars and not 5, only because of lack of room for luggage in the room.

Absolutely great location right near Ueno station and the area was buzzing. You could walk to Akihabara Electric Town in 15 minutes. Very close to Ameya-Yokocho market.
Iron and ironing board in the rooms would be good but this will be down to the size of the rooms as like all rooms in Tokyo they are compact. there is a trouser press outside on the landing.

We spent only 1 night. Well happened.

The hotel is very well located into Ueno Market with numerous restaurants and shops. At 5 five minutes by walk of Ueno Station and Keisei station to go to Narita express.

Rooms very cleans, good service and facilities (laundry coins, etc...).

Perfect to visit around like Zoo, Ueno park...
