This is our second stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo. We used our Chase Sapphire points to reserve a few nights. Service is always the best! I arrived with a cold and they provided complimentary cold medicine to help me recover. I asked for a few more bottles of water for my family and they provided them immediately. The view from the 42nd floor is spectacular. I know that there was a hotel review from the points guy website indicating that the hotel is outdated. I disagree and feel that the hotel's theme is a deliberately vintage with a classic library that customer's can use on their way to the receptionist desk. I also feel the points guy review was biased because the lady received a free upgrade to her room at a competitor's hotel and because she didn't receive a free upgrade from the Park Hyatt, she voiced her disappointment. Anyways, I highly recommend this hotel. If you don't want to spend money in the hotel restaurant, you can go outside and walk to a Lawson's close by to buy fruit cups, bread, food, etc. I also want to point out that the hotel provides a free shuttle service to/from the Shinjuku train station which proved useful to our travel plans. Last, we traveled with 3 kids under 9 years old and the hotel was able to accommodate all of our requests. It is a very family friendly hotel with the best perks! The pillows were super soft as well!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo. If you're like us, you're probably battling between the Park Hyatt, Andaz Toranomon Hills and Ritz-Carlton. Just choose the Park Hyatt, it's everything you can ask for from a top of the line luxury hotel.

The hotel is spotless. Thinking back, I can't remember seeing anything out of place the entire time we were there. It always seemed like the carpets had just been vacuumed. I have read a lot of the reviews complaining that the hotel is "dated" and in need of an update. I couldn't disagree more. The hotel is classic, it's timeless. You feel like you're in the 90's, but in the best way possible. Nothing feels old or worn and once you head up to the New York Bar for a nightcap everything clicks. This is what nostalgia and euphoria feel like, intertwined. To have sat at the same bar as Bill Murray and Bourdain was an incredible feeling.

On to the room, we were booked into a King View room on the 45th floor and WOW, just WOW! The views were incredible. We were lucky enough to have crystal clear views of Mt Fiji every morning. I was told this is rare. The room itself was spotless, the closet and bathroom were very spacious. One thing I was super concerned about before we booked was the lack of a rainfall shower. Turns out, this shower was the best we've ever experienced. The water pressure was divinely powerful and the addition of mid-body steam feature was a great touch. Also, there is a Toto Washlet, enough said!

A bit about the location. It is in a sleepy business area, but there's a free shuttle to/from Shinjuku station every 20 minutes and it was only a 15 minute walk if you're up for it.

One last tidbit for the Hyatt loyalists who are considering the Andaz Toranomon, skip it! We visited the rooftop bar just to see if we made the right choice with PH and boy did we! The location is even sleepier than PH and the hotel just felt off. The service at the rooftop bar was very stiff and the drinks were awful.

To all the fine folks at the Park Hyatt Tokyo, THANK YOU for an incredible stay. Keep up the good work and PLEASE, don't change a thing!

We stayed here for 6 nights with our 2 teenagers ( we had 2 rooms ) which usually means having to spend lots of dollars. However Park Hyatt Tokyo Bay blew us away, the service and attention was outstanding across all areas of the property. Buffet breakfast was amazing every day and set us up for the free shuttle to the station into Tokyo to go explore. There are also a number of eateries within a 10 minute walk of the hotel if you fancy a change of scenery. Huge park opposite the hotel with locals at weekends chilling out or walk to the mall again about 10 mins walk.
Really relaxing place away from the craziness of central Tokyo.
Probably the most reasonable priced fantastic standard of hotel in Tokyo if you book at Hyatt.com

We stayed at the Park Hyatt Tokyo as part of a Tauck group. The service and staff were amazing. They were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The concierge assisted me with clear directions to get to Shinjuku station although they also offer a free shuttle service to guests every 20 minutes to and from the station. I took the shuttle one way and found the 20 minute walk back very easy. The rooms are beautifully appointed with all your expected luxuries plus extras like iphone charger, international adapters, Nespresso coffee machines and beautiful luxury Aesop products from Australia so was also reminded of home. The bathroom was super spacious and I dont think I need to coment on the Japanese toilet but this was on another level. The breakfast was wonderful covering so many options inlcuding a healthy cuisine. The New York bar is a must do and if you havent seen the movie 'Lost in Translation' make sure you do before you visit as it makes the entire experience quite sureal. I would not hesitate to recommend the Park Hyatt Tokyo if you're looking for a little luxury in a busy city.

We stayed here for 2 nights after Skiing in Japan.

Stunning hotel on 1st arrival and very iconic with knockout views.

Lots of walking and elevator swapping to get to your rooms though.

We had a Deluxe King and it was very spacious and well maintained. My only complaint about the room was that they were missing the modernised touches such as USB ports and easy to access PowerPoints at the desk.

We didn’t eat at the hotel on our short stay as we were out and about all the time.

The gym and pool are just amazing!

Service was exemplary.

Nearby Shinjuku is great with my only gripe is that the hotels location is not near a Metro. You need to walk a good 10-15 minutes to Shinjuku station to move around Tokyo.

The hotel is pretty old but well maintained. As a globalist member, I expected a better upgrade as the hotel was still selling suites on the day I arrived. The check-in process was a bit awkward and cold.

I was really disappointed to learn that the cocktail appetizers the hotel used to provide for Globalists in the bar (and often praised in past reviews) had simply been terminated by the management. To be honest, It was one of the reasons I had booked my stay here instead of the newer Andaz.

The room was comfortable with nice views but facing windows from adjacent rooms thus creating an unpleasant feeling if you care for privacy. The gym has modern equipment and the spa is nice. Around 7 PM, someone knocked on my door to inform me that windows would be cleaned the next day from 10 AM. That meant I would have to close the curtains and would not be able to enjoy the views which is kind of annoying for a hotel of this caliber charging up $1000 per night.

The next morning, I asked the front desk if there was a specific time when the windows in my room would be cleaned. Fortunately I was informed that the cleaning would finally not take place on that day.

The Breakfast was correct but I expected more variety and more tasty dishes. Truth to be told, the presentation and service were very good. However, I’ve had more memorable breakfasts in 3-4 star hotels in Japan.

In the end, I don’t think I would be returning to the Park Hyatt Tokyo unless significant improvements are made and more benefits are offered to Globalists.

I have decided to stay at Park Hyatt Tokyo after watching Lost of Translation. This hotel didn't let me down. Although the location was not perfect for most of the leisure travellers, this hotel offered extraordinary service. The room I stayed in was cosy and comfortable. I especially loved Aesop bathroom amenities. My room featured a stunning view of the skyline of Tokyo. Absolutely loved it!

Breakfast was served at the Italian restaurant. I was able to secure the window seat even though I woke up late. You can choose to have the additional Japanese breakfast set and you can still take food in the buffet section. Staff at the restaurant was attentive and initiative. However, some of the staff had disappointing English proficiency. I had to repeat several times to order food. Also, although the buffet area only offered limited food selections, the a la carte menu was good and exceptional.

You shouldn't miss the New York Bar if you were going to stay at this hotel. The bar was very famous and many people would come and have an evening drink. Expect it to be crowded as usual. I was able to reserve a seat through the hotel Concierge but when I arrived at the bar there was no seat available. I had to wait even I had made a reservation already.

As this was my Birthday Tokyo trip, I expected special or surprising amenities for my birthday celebration. It turned out that there was none. I received a bottle of wine at The Prince Sakura Tower and a chocolate cake at Conrad Tokyo. After mentioning it in a survey sent by the hotel, the Executive Assistant Manager - Room, Mr. Patrick Schori, prepared a surprised for me. He mailed me snacks/cakes by the hotel's cakeshop (PASTRY BOUTIQUE) to my home in Hong Kong. WOW! I had never expected that gift. I would like to thank Mr. Schori for his hospitality. The gift I received might not be expensive, but it was definitely unforgettable. I really hope that my next visit at PH Tokyo would be a perfect one!

Probably too many rich people staying here- as Globalist though we received Email and told us we can received complimentary upgrades-even to a suite if available, but when we check in , the FD lady didn't mention any thing about upgrading, we are not expecting a free suite but at least one or two category upgrade for Hyatt member should not been too much to ask. In the end she giving us one category upgrade, we are okay staying at any room but we do not want to pushing or asking for upgrade at this kind of hotel. It looks like they did not pre - assign room at all. Entering the room the welcome amenity is nothing but 2 bottle of water. The hotel itself is elegant and classic, but the whole service I experience during the stay is nothing wrong but nothing stands out, it's more like a standard for everyone working here.I feel being appreciated more at the prince gallery as a value member than Park Hyatt Tokyo. It's such shame because it's really artful and beautiful here.

We arrived off a long flight and expected the Park Hyatt to be top notch and it was. The room, as with all rooms, was on a high floor, beautifully appointed in a clean Japanese style. The bathroom/bathing was also top notch with all the amenities you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. We went for drinks at the famous Lost in Translation bar and which was an amazing experience and incredible view. if you're looking for a 5 star refuge in Tokyo this should be an option. We did not go to the pool but will the next time we stay.

It’s hard to believe that Park Hyatt Tokyo opened on July 9, 1994. It feels fresh and pristine with a vintage vibe. It’s a beautiful property that recognizes World of Hyatt Globalists in the best way possible, and they could teach a few lessons to the pretentious and underwhelming Park Hyatt Sydney.

Breakfast has a somewhat small buffet but they offer a la carte menu with different options like Japanese or Healthy Breakfast US$45 pp (all options are free for Globalists).

Staff is impeccable - service is top notch.
This is on my top three Hyatt properties in the world, along time with Park Hyatt New York and Park Hyatt Vienna.
