Detailed Reviews
My first time to Japan and as usual stay Ascott properties when I travelling. Guest service very friendly and efficiency, they will assist and guide you where to go with patients when I’m not sure about the location how to go. Location was good, walking distance about 10-15 minutes to Shinjuku East Entrance Station. Room was fine.

This was our second stay at this hotel in its current iteration (our first stay was when it was still known as the Best Western) and the hotel has implemented some changes for the better. First, there are a lot of English-speaking reception staff which makes it a lot easier for international travellers. Second, there is clear information aimed at international travellers warning of the dangers of engaging with the touts outside clubs in the Kabukicho area, where the hotel itself is located. The rooms were the same as I remember - clean, comfortable and affordable. The coin laundry was also helpful. I did not opt to have the buffet breakfast this time, because there are so many other food options around the area, including a Mister Donut down the road and a Family Mart right underneath the hotel.

The location of the hotel was really handy. We arrived quite late from Narita and needed to pop out for some food and that wasn't a problem.
We needed a room with space to repack suitcases and there was plenty of floorspace in the room we booked. For the price, I was really pleased with the spaciousness of the room. It's worth checking that the type of room you book provides you with what you need, as I think some are bigger than others.
The shower and bathroom facilities were clean and absolutely fine. It was a traditional Japanese set up where you shower outside of the bath and then use the bath for soaking.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Overall a really good stay and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere good quality to stay in this part of Shinjuku.

This hotel is located within the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku. Like most other hotels in Shinjuku, prices are on the higher side due to the popularity of the area. We've stayed in Kabukicho in the past, but some how this side of Kabukicho that the hotel was located in felt much dodgier. Nonetheless, it's within reasonable walking distance of both Shinjuku and Shinjuku-sanchome subway stations which is probably the main plus point of this property.
The rooms were old and looked like they hadn't been refurbished in over a decade. That said, the rooms were still clean even though they had clearly seen better days. The wifi did not work in any of the rooms we stay in, despite them being on different ends of the same floor. This was incredibly disappointing .
Cannot recommend this hotel nor this area.

If you're planning on staying here I encourage you to reconsider. We did a 2 week vacation around Japan and this was our last hotel and stop on this vacation. Across Japan we stayed at 3 star hotels and they were great, exactly what we expected. When we came to Tokyo we expected the hotel rooms to be smaller than the other city's however we expected the standard of cleanliness to be the same. This was not the case. Apart from the lobby this hotel was filthy. As soon as you exited the elevator for your floor you were greeted by dingy old stained carpets and black mold on the ceiling with the vent for the AC dripping water (see attached picture). Then when you get to your room you will see that not much care has been taken into cleaning any part of the room. The bathtub has a lining of dirt where there is a groove, the carpet will have stains, the bed will have clumps of hair, dust, and dirt dangling from it (see the attached pictures). I thought maybe this was a issue with just that particular floor so i requested a room change. Upon getting a diffrent room i saw that all the issues were still there.
Whenever you enter or exit this hotel there are touts waiting for you, it is extremely frustrating.
This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our vacation in Japan and it was by far the most disappointing. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else.

Location is great for vicinity to Golden Street of bars, a major shrine, shopping malls and major central train station. Room was adequate for one person, and some strategically placed PowerPoint. The furniture is very old, with scratches on cabinet, frayed chairs and dip in the mattress. Pillows were good though. Amenities like toothbrush and hairdryer is available, shoe brushes and shoe horns too. Coin operated Laundry works wonderfully too

4 years ago we stayed at the Citadines Central Sjinjuku and because of the central location we stayed here for some nights again. It’s on walking distance from Sjinjuku Station which makes it a perfect place. Lots of restaurants around, so easy choice. Rooms are not huge, but clean and comfortable, Very friendly staff.

We stayed 3 nights in a Premier Twin Room. Staff spoke English well and were helpful. The room was quiet and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower nozzle had good volume. We did not find the hotel too long a walk from Shinjuku Station with luggage (15 minutes) and the hotel was in easy walking distance to the Tokyo Government Building (free observation deck) and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. The Family Mart directly before the entrance was very handy to pick up snacks, lunch and drinks. There is a good variety of restaurants within a 5-10 minute radius. The breakfast however was the worst we had during our 18 days in Japan so I would recommend just going to one of the many cafes in this area instead at a more reasonable cost.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are CLEAN. Breakfast buffet was worth the money. Read in some reviews that there were touts near and they might be annoying, but no one came to bothered my group. Unlike some hotels that choose dim lights or dark colours for atmosphere, we particularly liked the brightness of the room.

Every staff member was extremely helpful and kind during our stay. One of the front desk agents helped us make a reservation in Japanese at an amazing sushi restaurant. We think it was the best meal of our lives so we were very grateful for their gracious help.
The location of the hotel can't be beat with Shinjuku station just a short walk away. There's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs if you need anything, and the Golden Gai with plenty of bars is right behind the hotel. The neighborhood is lively and vibrant but the inside it's quiet and relaxing. Our room was a decent size and VERY clean. I really loved the dimmable light next to the bed.
Thank you for a perfect stay! We can't wait to come back!

Yes they do!
We had a bath and I don't think we were in anything of a special room.
Sorry, I don’t know. Not in our room, though we did have coffee making facility. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby but difficult for vegetarians and vegans.
Japan uses 2 flat leg plug-in, not round leg.
