The Grand Hyatt Tokyo garners mixed feedback from its guests. While many admire the sophisticated atmosphere and praise the hotel's cleanliness and luxurious amenities, some travelers express that the high cost does not always equate to value, pointing out pricey extras and rooms that occasionally fall short.
Service is usually lauded for its professionalism, yet there are notes of inconsistency, particularly for non-business clientele. Situated in the vibrant Roppongi area, the location is celebrated for its convenience, despite a handful of guests finding it less than ideal.

Detailed Reviews
The Grand Hyatt Tokyo is a beautifully appointed 5 star hotel located in the chic Roppongi Hills shopping district. We found movement to and from the hotel to be easy via the subway or a using a cab from Tokyo station. I have heard complaints about hotel rooms in Tokyo being small but that did not apply to our room which was large, had a comfortable bed, exceptional , automatically-controlled blackout curtains (that led me to oversleeping on my first morning after a late night flight due to their supreme effectiveness!), as well as a high-end, high-tech toilet.
The bathroom was superb and the best of our entire trip. A brilliant rain shower along with high-end, complimentary Bvlgari toiletries. The mini-bar was very well stocked with plenty of snack and drink options as well. We had a city view room from where we could see a bit of the surrounding city, but there wasn’t much to speak of really - other than a view of the Tokyo Sky Tree. The buffet breakfast is in a stunning setting and has plentiful options for even the most discerning palate. Communication with the hotel was speedy and efficient prior to our arrival and I found interactions with their front office to be prompt and efficient during our stay. I didn’t get the chance to use the pool or gym area but I can only assume that they were fitting of a hotel of this standard.
The only thing I wished we hadn’t bothered with (and please don’t see this as criticism on what was an otherwise great experience) was the hotel bar and lounge. There was a cover charge at the door, drinks were (naturally) expensive plus folk were smoking cigars around us to boot in what was as a dark and uninteresting dimly-lit venue. That aside, the Grand Hyatt is a highly recommended business and luxury option in Tokyo.

Absolutely lovely hotel with spacious floors, plentiful elevators, numerous restaurants, spa facilities and an exquisite Grand Club lounge with among the best service in Tokyo.
The Grand Club helped with restaurant recommendations, accommodations and checked in with us constantly. They also recalled our names and greeted us with warmth and familiarity that you usually see only at higher end properties such as Four Seasons.
Little touches such as nightly turn down service with blinds closed, water bottles at nightstand with glass and filled ice buckets with square ice as well as daily turnover occurred unobtrusively and with nary a sign of house staff.
I found the Roppongi location safe and accessible and while there may be better locations, the proximity to the Roppongi station and multiple eatery and shopping options is a plus. You do have to travel by subway or taxi for most of the popular tourist attractions and for more accessible shopping but this is a favorite Tokyo Hyatt after staying at the Park Hyatt and Hyatt Centric on stays past.
Shouts again to the stellar Grand Club and staff! The single nitpick is the lack of upgrade award availability as the Suite King is known to be very limited and the Suite Twin Room does not qualify for a standard upgrade award.

I travelled with my wife and 5-yr old arriving early evening. The room was ready when we arrived with the third bed (cot) already set up -- which is always appreciated when traveling with small children. The room was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff and concierge were all awesome. Quick. Helpful. Courteous. And, informative. Unfortunately, Shunbou was closed for renovations and their pool underwent some maintenance for our first few days. The breakfast buffet and staff at the French Kitchen were wonderful. The hotel is a great balance between quiet location, proximity to attractions and walkable to shopping and restaurants.

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. The rooms were very spacious with amazing views of downtown Tokyo and even Mt. Fuji. Additionally a great perk was having blackout windows which really helped with getting good sleep, and and a lavish bathroom including a walk in shower attached to a bath behind it. The pool and spa were well maintained by exceptionally helpful staff (the message chairs were a great perk with all the walking being done while staying in Japan). Additionally the Hyatt Members Club complimentary breakfast was very exceptional (great coffee maker as well). If you plan on trying any of the restaurants, know that they will be quite expensive, even for 2 people, but also be one of the best dining experiences you have ever had. My fiancée and I went to the Kaiseki style restaurant at Shunbou and Hiromi and Misa (the owner and assistant manager) gave us an absolutely beautiful experience. This really made the last night of our stay even more memorable. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and paid extra for a grand club level room. The hotel and staff were amazing but the grand club was disappointing. On multiple occasions the club was completely full and we were told to come back later. When asked if we could take food back to our room, we were told we can’t take the plates and there were no to go plates.
Hyatt shouldn’t be upselling club level rooms if they can’t guarantee access due to capacity issues.

Hotel was lovely! The room was spacious and clean. We also stayed at the Conrad Tokyo and actually preferred the Grand Hyatt simply because of the room layout - the bathroom is much nicer here.
The location is also decent, close enough to the action without it being too loud and too congested. It felt nice coming back after a long day of travelling around the city to just space to yourself.
We also utilized the spa, and the service was fantastic (also slightly more affordable than other 5 star hotels in Tokyo). The staff will walk you through the entire service, and ask you health based questions or concerns so they can concentrate on those areas during the service.

As a Globalist, I've stayed at Hyatts worldwide, but the Grand Hyatt Tokyo truly stands out. From pre-arrival communication to the attentive staff, every aspect of our stay was top-notch. The general manager deserves praise for fostering such a cohesive team.
While the breakfast buffet had fewer options than other Grand Hyatts, the quality was exceptional—each dish could easily grace a high-end à la carte menu. The heated pool was warm, clean, and comfortable for winter.
Though we couldn't secure a suite upgrade, the staff's proactive communication made me feel valued. We had three rooms from separate reservations, and the Hyatt Club ensured smooth check-in, placing us on the same floor despite different dates.
Highly recommend this hotel for its world-class service!

First of all Rappongi is a great location for an extended stay, with lots of restaurants in close walking distance. Two subway lines converge there that can get you to most places. And the surrounding are very pleasant. Views, given it is a hill, are spectacular. we could see Mt Fuji from our room.
The hotel is really well designed, and is of a quality more similar to a Park Hyatt than a Grand Hyatt. The rooms are huge and really well designed, with lots of storage space, room to move about, work at a desk, lounge in a comfortable chair, The bathroom is especially brilliant with a rain shower in addition to a bathtub, the latter not being intrusive as in some hotels. All materials and design elements were brilliant. Another feature is huge windows, but with blackout curtains that totally black out due to their design.
Finally the staff are over the top fantastic, althouugh we have started to take that for granted in Japan.
For a one night stay, it might not be convenient, given a 25 minute taxi from Tokyo Station. In that case aI might sugget the Park Hyatt in walking distance of Shinjuku station, from which trains go everywhere.

I felt that it was in the perfect location for sightseeing at Toranomon Hills, Azabudai Hills, and Roppongi Hills.
Some of the facilities, such as the TV, are a little old, but overall it was clean and well organized, and very comfortable.
During cocktail time at the club lounge, there were not only snacks such as cheese, but also short pasta and pastries. What was interesting was that they also had solid meals such as hard fried noodles, so it was a wonderful time with the fun of choosing.
The pool and hot spring facilities are fully functional and look beautiful. It seems to be popular, and other customers immediately entered the lane I was assigned, so I didn't have much time to swim, but I was able to enjoy the jacuzzi, bath, massage chair, and other facilities.
Overall, it was a very good stay. I would definitely like to visit again.

Arriving here(staying 3 nights) we were shown to our twin room (large by Tokyo standards) having been personally checked in at the expansive club lounge, both tgere and the room had imressive views of the Tokyo skyline
We mainly ate outside tge hotel but also partook of the wonderful food and drinks each evening in the club lounge
You could also take breakfast there but we mainly had it in the restaurant below the lobby level
The offering there was exstensive, with both western and Asian offerings
I also had two spa treatments during the stay
These were very relaxing
There is a large indoor pool at the Spa area
This was a very good stay,I would recommend and hope to return

Not sure. But I am sure you can email or call them to arrange age that. I did that with difTrent hotels before for some service charge, which was quite reasonable.
Uncertain, all reviews to this hotel appear when I search…
Tokyo tower is a replica of the Eiffel Tower, but 15 meters taller. You can see it from the room of the Grand Hyatt.
It’s 30 min walk or subway ride from the hotel
We had a king room. I think they use the two twin to create one king - so a good size. :)
I'm not sure because I never dined in my room. However, if you email the concierge at the email address on their website, they are very responsive.
