I just checked out of this hotel 2 days ago... Here's my review...

Pros:
Clean room and toilet with shower (cleanliness means a lot to me);
Bed is firm (not too hard, not too soft);
Receptionists speak English reasonably well;
Free wifi in room;
Could leave my luggage with them after I checked out so that I can continue to shop without carrying my luggage around;
Right outside Tanimachi-Yonchome subway station exit 8 (after getting out of the stairs, look up towards your left, should be able to see the hotel sign).

Cons:
Breakfast variety is limited (so I stopped eating it after the 2nd day, but hey, no complaints for the price I'm paying).

Although Tanimachi-Yonchome is not exactly near the popular area like Namba/Shinsaibashi, it is still quite easy to travel to other places by subway. But instead of taking subway, I managed to walk to Shinsaibashi by walking within 25mins. It's also walking distance to nearby attractions like Museum of History and Osaka Castle (walk about 10-15mins).

I booked this hotel through their website. Their price was good. and hotel easy to reach by subway, get off at station Tanimachi 4 chome. (Exit #8). Once you get on street level the hotel is right there on your left. Just look up to the sky and you will see it. I arrived close to midnight and found the hotel easily. If arriving late, make sure you note this in your reservation so they keep your booking. You can only book the hotel 2 month in advanced.

Location wise the area is quiet, not the city centre full of shops and at night it is quiet. But the hotel is good if you want something right in front of the subway station (I wanted this because I didn't want to carry large suitcases for a long time). Note many of the subways, only have stairs and no lifts, so bear that in mind if you want to bring heavy suitcases.

I have stayed at 3 of these Toyoko Inns around Osaka and Kyoto and I have found them all to be great. They all have the same standard and the rooms are the same set up. Rooms are small, but this is what all hotels in Japan are like.

The great thing is, each room has free internet connection. They provide the LAN cable in each room and the internet is quite fast. They also have free computers and internet in the Lobby (this is also for all Toyoko inns around Japan). This lobby is tiny, no seats.

Toilets have bidets which are seats that can wash your bottom.

Toyoko inns also give guests free breakfast each morning. Rice balls, miso soup, tea/coffee. Breakfast is from 7am-9.30am. Breakfast is on the 2nd floor. with a seating area. The vending machine is also on the 2nd floor. They also have a filtered water dispenser here.

Check in is at 4pm. check out 10am. But you can always leave your bags if you arrive early or leave late.

You must pay once you check in, and the staff at the desks are all women, hotel manager is a woman. They are all friendly.

The hotel has a laundry machine, but the instructions are all in Japanese. They have a vending machine which is well priced compared to outside.

This hotel offers tremendous value for its rate. My family and I enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. All interactions with staff were very positive as they were friendly and highly effective at the same time. We had a twin room for 2 adults and 1 child and the beds were super singles, giving us a comfortable sleep. We were pleasantly surprised at this as the beds were normal singles in photos. The whole hotel was spotless and everything was in top condition.

The person who made our room was very good as well as obviously thoughtful, going out of her way. The included breakfast was above expectations. Always fresh, tasty and varied with each day. Quality of sleep was very good. With a mostly business clientele, we didn't have problems with noisy or late neighbours.

The vending machines were very handy, with beer reasonably priced, and VOD sevice offered an alright selection of English movies for only 500Y for each period of 4pm till 10am.

Conveniently located at the entrance of a subway station, there are many minimarts, 7-11 types and restaurants within a short walk. There is a McD's nearby, for those so inclined. It is also a lovely walk to the castle and the castle park is definitely worth visiting.

The Hotel was good value for money and extremely close to the subway. Rooms were very clean and a free toothbrush and paste were provided daily. I did find the bed quite firm. There is a free breakfast - which was very nice and had a very good variety of Japanese food (Miso, Onigiri, pickled vegetables, pasta salad, mini pastries, coffee etc). There was free wifi in our room. Staff were very friendly and helpful - even loaning us a travel adapter as we forgot ours. Right next door is a Sunkus (7 eleven style mini mart) and a nice shopping street one street over. The Hotel is also within easy walking distance to Osaka Castle ~ 15min (staff will help you with a map) and the Osaka loop line (for JR pass holders).

The hotel has Toyoko Inn standard for the room, but since it's in Osaka city center, the price is in the upper rate of Toyoko Inn. Go for Eco-plan to save both your budget and environment. Eco-plan gives around 300 yen/night (or something like it) discount from your room rate. That means out of the 2 nights we stayed, they only clean the room once before we checked in, instead of every morning, thus saving the environment from changing ur bed sheets. We still got new clean towels, so it's not a problem for us.
The reception is helpful, but you need to go to them and ask. They have everything from maps of nearby places, tickets to Osaka aquarium, and suggestions for places to eat around the hotel. We asked for a nearby Okonomiyaki place and they gave good recommendation.
Room itself is as good as any other Toyoko Inn hotel, view is ok, but not bad. You can grab a pajama (yukata) from the reception. Breakfast is better than most business hotel standard.

The hotel is located right next to a train station, which makes traveling around easy.
Rooms were small but clean and comfortable.
Only inconvenience is the cleaning time of the room, which is fixed and all guest are expected to be out during this period of time.
Breakfast is simple, local japanese style food.
Surrounding the hotel has alot of small eateries, which served rather good and cheap food.
Staff were really good, helpful with all enquires i made.

A great thing about this hotel is the location. It is within a very reasonable walking distance of Osaka Castle, and there is an elevator going down to a subway station (serving two different subway lines) literally about 20 feet from the hotel door. There are also excellent supermarkets with deli-style, ready-to-eat Japanese foods (sashimi, tataki, octopus legs, clams, etc.) about 15 minutes walk away. Also there are numerous convenience stores nearby, and a McDonald's restaurant just down the street... for the faint of heart.

Other good points are the polite staff, the reasonably well laid-out bathroom, the coin-operated clothes washers and dryers being available, and the powerful air conditioning which stays on when you are not there. The free breakfast was more or less all Japanese style food, but seemed good to me and in ample supply at the buffet table. Oh, and a kid can stay (and eat) with an adult for no additional charge.

A negative is the Toyoko Inn policy of kicking out guests from 10 AM until 4 PM every day, while the rooms are cleaned. I was there with my 6 year old daughter in blazing hot August, and it sure would have been nice to swing by and cool off for an hour or so around 2 PM some days. Or maybe to hole up in there during a typhoon. Another negative is, the coin laundry is located in the breakfast room, and I believe the clothes dryers vent directly into the room air. Inevitably someone would get up to do laundry at 6 AM and have the breakfast room like a hot humid sauna by eating time. I shower in the morning, and really hated to feel that sweat pouring out of my body again so soon afterwards. And maybe the bed was a little on the hard side for me. One final gripe is that while a kid can stay with an adult for free, only one set of towels is provided unless you pay extra.

The wifi stopped working in the rooms and they did not seem that concerned. There is no lobby to sit and check emails either. The room was fine, not too big, not too small. The breakfast was fine. The people at the front desk spoke English pretty well. I was able to walk to the river, Castle and about 30-40 minutes to Dontonburi nightlife area.

I have become a fan of the Toyoko Inn chain and this was yet another decent stay.

Like other Toyoko Inns, this hotel was located conveniently next to the Tanimachi Yonchome metro station, and is just a 10-min walk to the Osaka Castle.

Rooms were of typical Toyoko Inn decor- with all the basics you need. Free breakfast is provided just like other hotels in the chain.

Given that it is slightly cheaper than other hotels of the same chain in Osaka area, I would love to stay here again.

I choose this hotel because it's located at the subway entrance (Tanimachi 4 chome station). At exit 8, we can reach the hotel door very easily.

The staff is O.K. in English, polite and professional. The double room is not so small as I thought. Big enough for 2 big people like me and my wife. There are toothbrush and toothpaste, comb, razor, women set, robe and slippers provides. Also coin-washing machine and coin-dryer machine at the second floor.

Complimentary breakfast is a lot of Japanese rice with soup, less meat. I have to buy fried chicken and sausages from convenient store under the hotel to eat with their rice. Can't complaint because it's complimentary.

There is a Sunkus convenient store under the hotel. Or you can walk to 7-11 or Lawson in few steps. Take a crosswalk toward north, I find many food stores like Sukiya, McDonald and etc.
