This hotel serves Hakata traditional breakfast which was something new to me as they were using fermented fish, meat and vege to pair with rice. The hotel is too far away (by walking) from the main station which was the main drawback.

Nothing to shout about for this hotel.

The hotel is located in a good area, easily accessible to the train station and right by a historic site. The rooms are small but functional. We travelled with 2 big bags, 2 backpacks, a stroller, a umbrella stroller and 2 kids and were ok, however, the space was tight but manageable. The breakfast was decent.

Just spent 3 nights here. Hokke Club is what in Japan is usually known as a "Business Hotel". The amenities are basic but good, you get a comfortable room (big for Japanese standards), and the location is perfect. It is a 10minute walk from Hakata Station where the Shinkansens go to and where the subway/bus to the airport is. In the other direction, it is a 15 minute walk to Tenjin, the shopping heart of the city.

I would recommend it for value, both for business and holiday travelers. It is inexpensive and has just about everything you'd need. Another worthy mention is the also inexpensive breakfast option that has a nice variety of Japanese food mostly

Catering primarily to Japanese business travelers though, the staff don't speak much English but enough for basic communication.

Thank you for staying at our hotel this time. I think happy to become a comfortable trip. Closest bus stop from the hotel is Ekimae 4cho-me bus stop. It's excellent access! Tenjin ... about 15min ( 100yen) Fukuoa Tower ... about 30~40min (230yen) International airport ... about 25min (270yen) Progress of English skills is a challenge of hotel. Breakfast is 972yen ( in tax ) It is proud of hotel ! ! Please try it. We look forward to meeting you. Front staff Imoo

Good location. Though near Hakata station, it's quite a walk, especially with luggage. Would recommend a cab as it would be pretty cheap and would save you the trouble of finding the hotel, which is along a side road. You can take a bus: the nearest bus stop is Ekimae-4-chrome. Tip: You can take bus number 100 at this bus stop and it will go to key tourist stops like Canal City, Tenjin etc

Fellow reviewers have mentioned the 7-11, which was right across the road. Rooms are small but clean. No complaints. Buffet breakfast was fine: reasonable spread and well prepared. It's slightly cheaper than the rest of the hotels I stayed in Japan (980 vs 1200 yen pax).

Lastly, I would recommend Ringer Hut (just across the road) to those who would like to try the Nagasaki specialties of champon and sara udon. It's cheap and tasted as good as those that I ate at Nagasaki Chinatown. The nearby izakaya was great too. Definitely much better than the 'Yatai' along the river that were just tourist traps. Just ask the concierge for directions.

The hotel is 10 min walk from Hakata station. You can also walk to Canal City in 15 min. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff are helpful. There are onsens, but quite small.

From the airport, taking bus is more convenient than subway. There is a bus stop nearby, but you have to make sure where to get off.

We stayed at Hotel Hokke Club Fukuoka in April. The hotel is very close to the train station, maybe a 10 minute walk if that. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy even with the language barrier. There is an onsen on site, one for men and one for women. The women are given a code to enter the onsen bath but the men are not. The hotel is clean and small but you are only in there to sleep and freshen up. I noticed that there was only one pillow and one set of towels in the room so we went down to ask for another pillow and another set of towels. It didn't take long for them to bring the items to us and they apologized many times for having the room prepared for a single and not a double. There is a nice temple within walking distance and three 7-11 in the area of the hotel.

This was my second visit here and I stayed for 6 nights this time. I had a single room in the annex. There's no getting away from the fact the the rooms was tiny. Maybe I booked a semi double last time as the room was bigger...can't remember, but for six nights, the room this time was way too small. It also didn't have windows that opened and the windows were not really windows...could not see through them, so no daylight at all. I was not told this in advance. Had I been, I would not have booked that kind of room. The room had seen better days, but was at least clean.

The week I stayed was incredibly wet and and humid. The result was a damp room. I tried to discuss this with the people in reception with my limited Japanese and with the use of google translate, but all they kept saying was that the aircon unit had a button for damp. It did no good.

Location wise, it is 700m walk from Hakata Station. There's not much directly around the hotel except for Sumiyoshi Shrine behind and Seven Eleven opposite, but it's not a bad location.

The buffet breakfast was Y1000 a day. Didn't like it to be honest. When I went in a lot of the stuff was empty, so there wasn't a lot of choice. The fish and miso were quite good, though.

The hotel has a sento, but as I have a couple of tattoos, I was not allowed to use it.

Ultimately, it is great value, but I felt very let down this time. Don't think i'd stay here again.

When in Japan, I look for 3 facilities, local breakfast, onsen and location. You get them all here. F&B, shopping, yatai and main transport hubs are within 10 - 15 minutes leisure walk. We did a day trip to Nagasaki with their express coach. The bus terminal is just on the north side of Hakkata Station, pre-book online before you leave home and you will get reserved seats. The International Airport is within the city and this hotel is fairly near to it, It cost us a very convenient Japanese Yen 1,330 by metered taxi to the airport. Should have taken a taxi upon arrival as well.

This hotel is 10 mins away from HOKATA station . I’ll suggest you to reach hotel via Bus from airport. Once you alight the bus terminal , you just have to head to the main exit door and follow the main road to the south.

Just FYI that early check in with fee applies from 1 pm to 3pm and check in time is 3PM .

Reception is always helpful with luggage assistance. They would help with hiring taxi as well !

Room is small as expected. We had to book Smoking room as that’s the only choice. However the room equipped with air freshener and the machine , I don’t smell of cigarette at all.

Breakfast can be purchased upon check in, one adult at ¥1260 .Good variety of local dish selection. Coffee tea and juices I’ll suggest you try it one of your morning.

There are a lot of convenient stores and eateries nearby. And a local market which is famous for Mentaiko!

Yes and no- yes there is but not in the same building as the hotel. It's a separate parking facility about half a block away, and you have to pay full parking charges yourself. (Hint: it's not the parking facility in the building that is next/connected before the hotel either- you'll get chased away unceremoniously).
