Nothing to shout about for this hotel.
I would recommend it for value, both for business and holiday travelers. It is inexpensive and has just about everything you'd need. Another worthy mention is the also inexpensive breakfast option that has a nice variety of Japanese food mostly
Catering primarily to Japanese business travelers though, the staff don't speak much English but enough for basic communication.
Fellow reviewers have mentioned the 7-11, which was right across the road. Rooms are small but clean. No complaints. Buffet breakfast was fine: reasonable spread and well prepared. It's slightly cheaper than the rest of the hotels I stayed in Japan (980 vs 1200 yen pax).
Lastly, I would recommend Ringer Hut (just across the road) to those who would like to try the Nagasaki specialties of champon and sara udon. It's cheap and tasted as good as those that I ate at Nagasaki Chinatown. The nearby izakaya was great too. Definitely much better than the 'Yatai' along the river that were just tourist traps. Just ask the concierge for directions.
From the airport, taking bus is more convenient than subway. There is a bus stop nearby, but you have to make sure where to get off.
The week I stayed was incredibly wet and and humid. The result was a damp room. I tried to discuss this with the people in reception with my limited Japanese and with the use of google translate, but all they kept saying was that the aircon unit had a button for damp. It did no good.
Location wise, it is 700m walk from Hakata Station. There's not much directly around the hotel except for Sumiyoshi Shrine behind and Seven Eleven opposite, but it's not a bad location.
The buffet breakfast was Y1000 a day. Didn't like it to be honest. When I went in a lot of the stuff was empty, so there wasn't a lot of choice. The fish and miso were quite good, though.
The hotel has a sento, but as I have a couple of tattoos, I was not allowed to use it.
Ultimately, it is great value, but I felt very let down this time. Don't think i'd stay here again.
Service is good, worth for a short stay, we stayed in double room and there is a public bath on basement, there is a shopping mall Nearby so it's okay
Room has all amenities and bath tub
Just FYI that early check in with fee applies from 1 pm to 3pm and check in time is 3PM .
Reception is always helpful with luggage assistance. They would help with hiring taxi as well !
Room is small as expected. We had to book Smoking room as that’s the only choice. However the room equipped with air freshener and the machine , I don’t smell of cigarette at all.
Breakfast can be purchased upon check in, one adult at ¥1260 .Good variety of local dish selection. Coffee tea and juices I’ll suggest you try it one of your morning.
There are a lot of convenient stores and eateries nearby. And a local market which is famous for Mentaiko!
