Description
Japan is a country which has a lot of characteristics. High technology, beautiful nature, sub-culture… Especially Kyoto, which is an ancient historical city which keeps the Japanese traditional culture. For More example, seasonal sceneries, tea ceremony, noh play, Gion festival, antiques, and beautiful refined Kyoto cuisine. Kyoto is the place where you can feel the authentic Japan. We invite you to come and experience the true essence of Kyoto. At IZUYASU, traditional ryokan established in 1839, we welcome you with our Japanese style warm hospitality. We hope you’ll enjoy our chef’s Kyoto cuisine, traditional Kyoto house, and the Japanese garden. A track with Kyoto’s history In 1839 during the Edo period IZUYASU was originally established to receive the Buddhist priests and travelers who come to worship at Higashi honganji. For over 170 years we’ve offered the best service which suits the different generations with our warm Japanese hospitality. Today we accept important cultural guests of Japan and also from foreign countries. First renewal since 170 years ago We have reopened IZUYASU in November 2013. You’ll see the simple and cozy interior design and the natural furniture in the salon created by artisans. We’re looking forward to seeing the elegant changes of the woods with time like the old central pillar which has been supporting the house for a longtime Less

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to try the traditional kaiseki-ryori meal in a ryokan setting. This is definitely a hidden gem - we weren't sure what to expect when we booked months in advance... Our expectations were completely blown away from the moment we stepped int

We arrived in Kyoto with low mixed expectations about this Rhyokan given the recent reviews. That said , we can say categorically that our stay here was superb. The staff were gracious , friendly and knowledgeable. The meals cooked by the owner were fabulous. We stayed for three

This was an expensive stay in a so so Ryokan. I have stayed in a number of ryokans in Hakone previously and this experience was not remarkable in any way. We slept on mattresses on the floor and the air conditioning in the room was struggling to cool the room on a very hot day. T

This was a bit of a splurge for us, and we were very happy with our experience. Check in was very smooth and they held our bags for us in the morning since we arrived way before the actual check in time. The inn is walking distance from Kyoto station, which was really nice on the

To start with our Izuyasu stay was a good experience - it ended on a somewhat bad note. Firstly, I will start with the bits that were positive, the room we had was a traditional style room that was comfortable, a good size and seemingly clean and well maintained. The shared bathr

Hello, We are travelling from the UK to Japan for our honeymoon and have booked to stay half board in your beautiful ryoken on the 10th-11th May 2018.  Could be please request breakfast to be served in our room for 7:00am. We are also hoping to have dinner served in our room (Yuki) but if this is not possible then we would like to eat dinner at the counter.  Thank you very much, Roseanne Collins
Hello, Thank you for your question. Your breakfast time is set at 7:00 AM. Unfortunately, the room Yuki does not have an option of in-room dining. However, we do have a private room which we can show you later. Otherwise, we will have the counter seat reserved for you. Please let us hear your thoughts at check-in.

Hi there, I have a booking with dinner on March 1, 2018. Can I reserve my party of 2 to eat at the counter with the chef? I wasn't sure how to confirm. Thanks! Tim
Hello, In the prices quoted on the official website, it says "half board". Does this mean that the keiseki dinner is included in the price?
We booked through Agoda and Bookingcom. I did look at the website too before we booked. I believe it is quite specific if you book with Dinner and or Breakfast. Sorry, I’m not exactly sure what they would mean by half board.

Hello, I just booked a night on 4/3/18 for my family of four. We would like to reserve dinner that night and pay at the hotel. Is this ok?

"While getting a parking lot view may not sound glamorous, it is a lot quieter than one of the rooms that looks onto the main road."
"Think before you book!"
"Possibly ask for a room overlooking the garden?"
"Ithink all the rooms have a garden view. there are 3 or 4 baths available"
"The basic room was lovely: spacious and charming. It even had a small garden."
