City Centre
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.

This is a Japanese Boutique style hotel and is very arty, we were welcomed by very friendlly staff and check in was swift and easy. Our room number was 303 and it was beautiful, it was extremely large with a corner sofa sitting area and a very large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath

We spent four nights here, and had a great time. The staff was very helpful in providing information and assisting with travel arrangements. It's a quiet neighborhood with neat local restaurants and breakfast spots, but still close to the transit system and the attractions.

Hi, no idea either. In fact I looked on their site and couldn't find where it said that. However, it's a really good hotel, friendly and in a good place.

You would have to email the hotel directly- I'm merely a past patron who reviewed it - good luck!

"The corner suite on the top floor was spacious and nice windows facing north and east."
"The "suites" have white strip blinds that let a lot of light in."
"All the rooms are unique, and only a few per floor. The suite was awesome, but the "semi-suite" was plenty roomy as well."
"The best rooms are the suites; and they are not too expensive."
