We stayed on the campsite this March and it was a great experience.
Kevin & Sue have a great place for camping in the Catlins near local attractions and the ocean.
Apart from the nice atmosphere you also get free wi-fi access which is really great.
I highly recommend paying them a visit!

We loved our stay here! Kevin, the owner was lovely and so welcoming. He told us about Nugget Point which was a 20 minute drive away and gave us directions etc - very glad he did because it was well worth a look. Would highly recommend this camp ground if you are passing through.

We stayed for one night in our campervan with the unpowered option. You can pay a little more for power if needed. Being a girl from Staffordshire, England I was happy to find that Kevin, the owner, was originally from Matlock and still retained his Northern charm. Kevin and his family made us feel very welcome from start to finish and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. All year round they cook homemade pizzas which are huge and delicious! Kevin is an experimenter and loves a project, ranging from cheese making, vegetable patches and an ongoing bus renovation. We paid $10pp and $2 for a hot shower and it was well worth it.

My husband and i have been to a lot of camp sites in the last six months we saw the signs for hill view on our way to nugget point and thought well we will give it a try,
It was raining when we arrived we spoke to Kevin told him we only have a tent so he showed us to his bus hes building with a tent in the back and swobs well it wasn't Buckingham palace but still fantastic and dry, so we moved in and it rained so we was so pleased to have shelter,
we ask Kevin whats the extra cost he just laughed and said don't be daft its there you can just use it,
we could cook in the bus but the beef roast got the better of us so we booked the meal,
just under one hour the meal was ready, coming from England Kevin and Susan (a kiwi) know how to cook a roast we thought a hour was just long enough to wait but when we saw it nothing was deep fried potatoes pumpkin are all oven baked, we stayed 2 nights and would love to go back these are the only camp owners that have been so nice and so helpful COST $10 per person meal $15pp breakfast was fantastic $15 full and a $8 beans on toast total cost $73 with FREE WiFi FREE coffee with our meal
and being well looked after FREE I can not say enough good things about our stay here many thanks to you both lots of love and best wish's from Susan George

We stayed here after passing by on the way to view the penguins at Nugget Point, attracted by the very affordable price and free WIFI. We were not disappointed. Owners were very friendly, and even brought us lollies (sweets) after dinner! They offer food, and showers for a reasonable price, although we didn't need them. Lovely location next to the sheep in the rolling hills of the Catlins. Shame we couldn't stay longer.

We have stayed twice now, once in our own van and the second in the newly built cabin. Facilitys are clean and hosts are so friendly they really make you feel like they will do as much as they can to make you as happy as possible. Camping was $5pp and the new cabin $50 for us both. The cabin was super warm, had a great TV, Coffee and tea (and biscuits), there is free wifi throughout the camp also, you can order pizza for dinner and breakfast which is delivered to your van/tent/cabin at a really reasonable price. Its near to local attractions- kaka point, nuggets, seals and pengiuns, horse riding, a super place to base yourself. We will be staying there again later this year. Thank you!

Not the most enjoyable stay we’re had. Alright it was cheap, but you pay for what you get - or rather you don’t pay for what you don’t get. The kitchen has no cooking facilities, one small bar fridge and one sink for over 50 campers, no wash basins in the toilets, and you pay extra for the showers. Apparently, if you pay extra, you can stay in the “backpackers” which is a fairly cheap mattress in a bunk room and you also get an electric element to cook on.
As said “you get what you pay for”

Kevin is one of the friendliest campground hosts we have encountered in many years of travel. Good on ya Kevin! Keep doing what you do! Nice flat well kept open space for motor homes or tents. Incredibly clean showers/toilets. OK so it is basic but at only $10 per person, it has everything you need, nice hot showers (including a very friendly cat and sheep!) My husband Mike is a mad keen drone videographer, and guess what? So is Kevin, so these two pals bonded quickly with boy chat, swapped drone stories and the like! Great location, close to Nugget Point and main Catlins route. 10/10 plus!
