This is a great location. You get:
• Free overnight parking is close
• You are less than 50 meters from the two best restaurants in Barolo.
• A number of tasting rooms are within 200 meters.
• You don’t need an alarm clock because the children walking past your window on the way to school at 7:30 will probably wake you up.
There is no breakfast, but there is a coffee maker with free coffee in the room, along with a toaster and tableware.
You cannot beat the price or the location!
My room, which was off the courtyard, was bright, clean and neat, with a small sink, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. This is wine country, so it had good quality wine glasses and a cork puller. I didn’t make use of them, but it was also equipped with silverware and plates, as well as dish towels and detergent.
My room had a shelf under the window which served as my desk and could also serve as a table for two if one wanted to eat in the room.
The bathroom was adequate in size, and it was clean and airy with good lighting. It had a nice shower with plenty of pressure and hot water. The towels and bedding were fresh and crisp from being air dried.
Other amenities - Free Wi-Fi, no phone, no television, soap was not provided, but I travel with my own anyway.
Gianni operates an Enoteca at 28 Via Roma and the apartments are located in that building. This location is great, right on the main pedestrian friendly street, within a hundred feet of two of the best restaurants in town, and about a hundred yards from a wine and coffee bar. There was plenty of free overnight parking a short distance away.
I thought street noise might be a problem, but that was not the case since this village seems to go to sleep about 10:00PM. I did hear the children going to school at about 7:45 each weekday morning.
The Enoteca offers a nice selection of wines from well known producers, but their strength, in my opinion, was a very nice selection of very good yet inexpensive wines from small producers with limited distribution outside the local area. He also has a good selection of salami and cheese, along with bread sticks and a wide assortment of candy, pasta and packaged risotto. Gianni always had eight or ten bottles open for tasting. I purchased a number of bottles of interesting reasonably priced wine while I was there.
I was traveling alone, but the room would have been fine for me and my wife, and I will stay there again the next time I am in the Barolo wine region.
