Recently stayed here for 3 nights. It is a very unique venue. Staff were very helpful.. Everything is very clean. Pool room was great. Bed was great and room had a kitchenette which had everything we needed, crockery, cutlery, toaster, jug, microwave glasses etc etc. Day visitors just made the experience more enjoyable. If you have never stayed here you should give it a try.

The simple pleasure of relaxing by the pool, a clean room with everything expected but no useless clutter, friendly checkin and attentive but unobtrusive staff. Just big enough to be fun, but not so big to be impersonal. Booked 2 nights, extended to 4 nights.

Mainly old men there. Not for the young ones. Nice pool area. Needs to sell food. Nothing to eat or drink if your there for extended stay. Need breakfast options. Place is a bit tired. Spa is hit and miss. Get rid of the dirty room. Not necessary. Furniture wore and tired. Don't like that rooms don't have showers. Only vending machine. Prices are expensive for one nights stay when you could get yourself a 4 star place at Maroochydore for less. It's only like 3 star and price should reflect this.

I came here really open and wanted to enjoy myself but I checked out pretty disappointed (and with a sore back).
Check-in was easy, arrived after reception operating hours (7 pm). Key was in the safe and given directions to room.
I was situated in the back area (5A) standard double. Room was pretty basic: bed, tv and mini-fridge. By viewing other rooms I think I had the worst room in the place. The communal but private bathroom wasn’t an issue.
The room was pretty dated, the tv was pretty small. The bed was really bad, the frame was a cheap iron bed frame that you can but for $50 at fantastic furniture. It squeaked (loudly) with every slight movement. The mattress itself was bad too, it slumped in the middle and woke up an hour after going to bed with a sore back. I actually slept the night on the lounge suits in the common area. The room has the ability to be adjoined to its neighbour but this meant you could hear everything coming from the room.
This is a dated 50’s style building if you took away the ‘men’s only factor’ its a budget motel which you would expect to pay $50 a night. It’s slapped with Asian art you’d find a $2 store.
I am a smoker so never had an issue with all area smoking area but I could see it could be a major issue if you weren’t a smoker.
The clientele during my stay was mainly in there 60’s to 80’s.
My recommendation, if you are interested in the men’s only experience, maybe spend the $20 for a day pass but stay somewhere else which would be cheaper and nicer.

the rooms are ok. Big difference between the pool-side rooms and the other ones. I would certainly recommend the ones near the pool. The commun areas were nice and clean.
A typically gay resort. Together with the day visitors you can certainly have a good time. Like other gay places the age, looks, ..... of the guests are .more important than their character. Pitty the manager acts the same way. Young, sporty guests get lots of attention .... Other, more aged guests are beeing neglected. This is maybe normal in the gay world, but as a manager he should be more neutral and give the same attention to everybody.

Antagonistic, arrogant and nasty - that's the business ethic of this so-called accommodation retreat.
As a customer-focussed cabin crew member of 15 years' experience, I was left gobsmacked by my poor treatment in attempting to check in to Hideaway without success... in fact, I would have been instantly fired if I behaved in this nasty manner on board my flight.
After flying into Gold Coast airport, driving 3 hours and diverting to an inner Brisbane to assist a friend in emergency need, I felt assured from a text received at 1730 reassuring me with the message that I would have a key waiting in a safety box upon my arrival.
My phone was pretty much flat the whole journey but I managed to communicate the fact I would ultimately be arriving around 2300.
After charging my phone finally shortly after 2300 upon my arrival, I discovered a barrage of missed calls and texts prompting an update time of my arrival.
I have no clue why the management of this hotel thought I would freely communicable given it is a major traffic offence to use mobile devices yet that was their unrealistic expectation.
Secondly I was blamed for not reading any messages and making staff work overtime to facilitate my arrival, which besides being irrelevant was not communicated whilst my phone was flat.
Finally and most astonishingly of all, I was told (the day after by the most surly of management arrogance I have ever been poisoned with) that the urgency of my arrival hinged on the fact that they had a faulty security box whjch I couldn't open on arrival.
The management basically hurled a 20 minute tirade of abuse at me in a phone call the day after saying how everything was my fault, including the unserviceable safety box.
As you can imagine after a long day of unexpected and snowballed misfortunes, a bad day turned disastrous when I was forced to "sleep" in my car overnight and suck up the consequences of a dysfunctional management who can't even provide a basic security box.
Hideaway would not accept any responsibility whatsoever for their imperfections. For every black I painted in my defence, Hideaway management came back with a bombastic white reply, eg. My fault that phone was off etc.
I promised Hideaway to paint the true picture of experience via online forum such as this and you guessed... they promised to further their insufferable arrogance with a reply to my reply so you can see for yourself very shortly how petty they are.
In an age approaching Corona-induced economic recession and an inevitable downturn in the travel industry, it beggars belief how an accommodation "venue" such as this can be so rude, condescending and anti-customer in its attitude and approach. I will be telling my vast network of crew friends not to bother with this place and hopefully Hideaway may like to assess in future the easier option between actually putting the customer first or suffering the effects of bad publicity through disowning all responsibilities and casting shade and blame on the people who pay their wages.
An absolute DISGRACE!

Spent the weekend there with some good friends and I don't think we stopped rooting around for more than a couple of hours the whole time we were there. Facilities were basic but that's not what people are there for. They have a very adequately sexually charged atmosphere that brings about exactly the type of holiday experience people are wanting when they book in here.

Stayed here before several times. Price was reasonable as accom was not too flash. Prices have risen but accom has not changed too much.
Good stuff : Staff friendly and happy to help with any enquiries. The guys looking after the place are excellent and know how to make your stay pleasant. Top marks here.
Quiet and comfortable surrounds around the pool. BBQ avaliable for guests.
Off street parking (though limited)
Close to beach very close actually.
Bus at door.
Not So Good Stuff:
Budget rooms are pokey to say the least. No wardrobe or kitchenette. Bathrooms are shared and require you to walk to the bathroom area. No area to store your clothes. For 99.00 per night very overpriced and not good value.
Other more expensive rooms 149.00 per night have these facilities but still overpriced for what you get.
A vechicle is necessary to get around unless you just want to relax all day round the pool.Still you have to get food etc in so need some type of transport . Perigian beach village is 20 mins walk away at least.
You can have daily entry for 20.00 per day with no accom. Suggest you get better accom and only utilise day entry.
The bar is no longer in use.
The pool needs to be heated.
Prices need to be more reasonable for what you get.
I reitterate Staff are awesome but needs a wakeup as to value for money.

I feel very disappointed with my visit. I wasn't expecting much but was well below any expectations... perhaps when people stop coming here then they will decide to knock the whole place down and built it again as it feels it is falling to pieces. It felt dirty too. I mean the basics were done but ... from 5pm until at least 11am the day after there was no one tidying the place. .. like around the pool beer cans everywhere and old dirty towels. I got yhe feeling the manager was everything.. cleaner. . Maintenence which is not acceptable as one person can not do anything. I wouldn't recomdnt this place until they re do it! Sorry if you are the owner but you are ripping people off! Time to invest!

Great place if you want to meet people, relax and have a wine or two with new found friends then this place is a must. Full credit would need to go to the manager who makes you feel so welcome. I was travelling alone but the minute I set foot in the place you make new friends. Its not 5 star accommodation but clean and tidy. All that you need.

Looking at spending New Years here, just wondering what it will be like and if anyone will be there?
Hi as I'm aware it is fairly heavily booked over that period we are staying for 2 weeks over that time. It's a great place very friendly environment we stay once a month from Sydney & love it
