Not as pictured, left within a couple of minutes. Staff seemed lovely but the room was completely unlike the photos, broken desk in the corner and smelt of mould. Non refundable to went to stay elsewhere and still had to pay which was very upsetting

A haven of peace where we spent ten days with family. Lots of greenery, a very nice pool, a bar and restaurant super nice. The staff very smiling and available. We had the chance to attend some concert nights. Everything was there to make us feel really good. Shared shower and toilet upstairs. Shanti is 10-15 minutes from Kata Beach by car. A nice disconnect in this place. Thank you to the whole team!! I hope to come back next time....

I stayed at this wonderful hotel last December for 10 days or so. It was the most relaxed place with fantastic food and friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful and Harvey a long time resident was quick to deliver a great story. Anyhow, I have just booked to go back in January 2013 and cannot wait !

+1
We stayed here for 9 days and had the most relaxing vacation! Staff were very friendly and helpful pool was excellent for kids it's easy to grab a bus from here or hire scooter or taxi. Food at restaurant was always on point with a massive menu and very reasonable price. Close to big buddah and Chalong Pier and 5 min walk to Tesco for food or shopping plus great fruit stand on corner super cheap:) Our kids loved the animals that lived there so it was a bonus for them , room had A/C got nice and cool for sleep our room was spacious not that we spent much time in it. For the amazing cost for our time here and awesome time we had I'd recommend for sure!

This little resort is nestled off the main road, amazing pool, gardens and a great restaurant catering for vegetarians and vegans. The accommodation is basic but clean and has every amenity that you may need. Be aware there are dogs and the odd cat around the grounds, but for an animal lover like me it was a bonus! The animals were all so friendly as well as the staff. Great accommodation on budget!

I travel to Phuket for one month every year and decided to stay at Shanti Lodge for a change of scenery. WOW. I absolutely loved my stay there. The staff were amazing at helping me with all my holiday needs... from scooter hire, taxi service, veggie meals. The location was perfect as I trained at Tiger but also enjoyed morning walks up to Big Buddha and taking trips to the beach. The resort itself exceeded my expectations! The rooftop play area (where I practised yoga each morning), hammocks, yummy restaurant and of course the rooms were great! Spacious, clean and quiet.... I was so pleasantly surprised by the outdoor shower. Looking forward to visiting again! A:)

Did you used to really love hostels but just got sick of dorm rooms and endless conversations about what's cheaper? Me too! Well you're in luck. Shanti Lodge has a wide variety of beautiful private rooms, the prettiest pool you've ever seen, a restaurant with great food where you can hang out all day, chat with the other nice travellers and staff, surf the internet and just relax. It's blissfully off the main tourist ghettos but a short cab or scooter ride from everything. Oh, and they'll arrange a scooter or any transport you need for you. The place has a very family feel to it with friends of the lodge stopping by to visit and spend time. The owner, Kim, is a expat South African who has been building and improving this place (as well as her place in Bangkok and 2 other rural properties) for 25 years or so and this lifelong labour of love really shines. She is one of the most capable humans I have ever met as well as one of the most patient. If you can't learn something about something from her then you're really just not paying enough attention.
Did I mention that the surrounding trees and gardens are just lush and green? Or the pavillion hidden in the centre of things where you can hang out with Mojo the dog on her sofa downstairs or get a masage (by appt) or do yoga upstairs? Or the fresh herd of housecats that keep the evil spirits away? Yeah, there's a lot going on here. If you're a solo traveller you won't feel alone for very long at the Shanti.
I came for a week or two and stayed for a month. I think I'll go back for a couple of more weeks when I go back because life might be short, but this place makes it worth it...

After finishing a 10 day sailing trip around the Andaman Sea we were invited to spend the afternoon with friends who were staying on at Shanti. The hosts and staff were delightful. The rooms are modest but very comfortable with a great outdoor shower and en-suite kitchen. The restaurant was wonderful with fantastic salads and Thai food.
Shanti is not the Four Seasons - it's a wonderfully comfortable and intimate guest house that I highly recommend.

We like to come here for their porridge and some other dishes but the service is absolutely terrible when it comes to their cafe. I have lived in Phuket for 4 years and am aware of thai style service. Shanti service seems to be one of the worst. This place could be so much better if they would just hire more or proper stuff. I never know whether I need to write the order myself behind a bar or ask a random farang. Please shanti do something.

I stayed in this hotel for almost a week upon first arriving to Phuket. The "lodge" possesses a wonderful garden sanctuary type charm and has a beautiful salt water pool next to the lobby. The open air restaurant serves spectacular Thai food at a very reasonable price. For 100 Baht more you can go into the kitchen and learn how to cook the dish of your choice.
The rooms are very charming with their embroidered Thai bed covers and wooden furniture. My room was quite large and had a nice view of the garden below. If you are looking to save some money you can book a room with a communal bathroom. The communal bathroom has 2 showers and 1 toilet, it is very clean and I never had to wait!
Word of warning, if you book a room that has communal showers it can be a bit noisy at night. People sometimes come back to their rooms at 1 or 2 am and the floorboards are REALLY creaky. I would recommend earplugs, or just spend a little bit more and stay in the other building. As for location, this hotel is located near Chalong Bay, which is great if you want to take boats to the other island or do some scuba diving. If you want to spend your days on the beach this hotel is a bit far, about a 15 minute drive. Overall I would recommend this place if you want a place to relax away from the craziness :)
