Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The motel was fully booked on the night I stayed and I had a free upgrade to an upstairs studio with a beautiful harbour view from my private balcony. The host was very friendly, the room nicely decorated and very clean. It was great value for money and I wished I had booked couple of nights there.

Room # 10 - 1 x Night Stay \ Paid NZ$180=

A quiet place to unwind and we felt very relaxed.

Although not new the rooms are in quiet good condition.

The only complaint many Door Knobs pulled off into my hands!!

The Manager was very friendly with a lovely welcome.

The early check in was much appreciated.

Would stay here again when in the Mangonui area.

The situation of this motel is fabulous - we could sit on the deck looking out onto a beautiful view. The heated pool was well maintained and very refreshing. Swimming towels were supplied for the pool area. The staff were friendly and offered excellent service. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed.
However, the kitchen and bathroom were very old and in need of refurbishment, and the bed needs to be replaced.

What a little gem this place is.
Just over the hill from Mangonui Village, it offers the perfect location for a peaceful break away.
The motel was spotlessly clean, friendly helpful staff, with character that perfectly fits the location. What a joy it was to open the door in the morning to a view that would be hard to beat anywhere. Thank you so much💚

The evening manager was very helpful with local walks etc. The owner could be friendlier. It was a good place to walk, drive and explore the local area. The pool was clean and fresh. The units at the top which have kitchenettes are nice and quiet

Stayed for 2 nights in room 2 which is on the ground floor overlooking the pool. Paid $243 for our family of 5 per night. Rooms were clean and tidy. Very basic but have everything you need. Bathroom is oldish but functional. Pool is clean and kids enjoyed it.Very pretty place to stay, the town is quaint.

This motel was just what we needed. Lovely quaint little apartments with a lovely view of the bay. Fully equipped with everything you need, the beds are comfy. The place was really clean and well maintained. The pool and area was really nice. Front of house staff were really friendly. Good value for your money. Would 100% stay again.

We arrived after a very weary day of driving and were so happy to find this gem of a place. We stayed in the upstairs studio room. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice, the view was beautiful. The room was spacious, clean and tidy. The bed comfortable and there were plenty of drinks available for our morning cuppa’s. The owners were lovely and so helpful. We wish we could of stayed longer than 1 night! Thanks so much.

We had a Sunseeker Holidays Voucher and booked for three nights, and were looking forward to a break away . When we arrived there was a family using the pool, which was just outside our room, with two screaming kids (a sign on the gate to the pool said no screaming or shouting). That night was spent trying to sleep through the loud noise of a refrigerator just feet from our bed, each time we needed to use the toilet, the door grated on the floor tiles, and the taps and toilet were noisy as well. The next morning we spent in Manganui due to bad weather and after lunch it cleared enough for us to walk around Mill Bay. The 2nd night was as noisy as the first so we decided to leave and not use the third night. I did mention on leaving about the noisy taps and grating door on leaving

Have a current voucher. Expires in 10 weeks time. They can't accommodate any time within the time and so the voucher lapses. They pocket the deposit, we get ripped off. The reality is they advertised the service, and can't provide the service so should refund the money. Classic con and as soon as you tell them they are in breach of the Fair Trading Act, they hang up.
