Innovative and tasteful décor throughout the hotel. Every room has hot and cold spring with marble soaking tubs as well as a separate shower. The bed is very comfortable. If you book a room with sea view, you can see the spectacular sun rise from your balcony. Free fabulous breakfast buffet! Excellent hotel service! The hotel is close to the beach and a famous hiking trail. Lots of fun things to do around. We will come back.

Having heard about the beautiful East of Taiwan, for almost a year I was there and never been. This happens to be a roadtrip with friends to the more southern east of Taiwan – Yilan, Suao. Before this, many of my friends had only mention more about Yilan, but Suao is too one of the hidden gems on Taiwan.

Lakeshore Suao which is one of the top rated springs hotel in the area was the hotel we choose for this stay. It took us ~2hr and 20 mins for to reach this hotel from Taipei. This is my first Lakeshore experience in Taiwan and they have a few in the country. Having some expectations in mind given the daily rate they are going I was kinda surprise the hotel seems small from the outside — and the inside. I’d say, typically a smaller chain of hotels with smaller areas to roam. The hotel only offer few standard categories of room with no suite option during booking, we book the double room with Mountain View for the glimpse of mountain and Suao town. The room which located at a small corner, truly offers great Mountain View and a great view of the town at the side next to the in-room springs tub — however, be aware that the windows are very much see through if you’re the shy type.

There’s nothing much to mention about the room besides the great view. The room which is kinda small, literally use up most of the available space to fit in every essentials possible. The only shout out is the bathroom which I enjoy taking in the views. Suao is famous for their high ion cold springs which cause the water to look murky. Fred not, it is 100% natural unfiltered springs.. there are no smell, and it doesn’t stain your body.. however, clothes maybe yes. I’d recommend to spend more quality time at the hotel which also have a gorgeous rooftop swimming pool – however small and can be crowded. They also have libraries with great views for the zen me-time. We also enjoy the breakfast spread the next morning.

All in all, it’s a decent “small spring hotel”. Having paid ~NT9k (~US$290), somehow I do expect more like better sheets. While I didn’t see any suite options, maybe it could be better with a suite as the room really does look like it’s taking all the available area and make it to rooms.. —- but this could just mean one thing = congested. I recommend coming here during the low seasons (google it), otherwise it can be really crowded. We stay here ~July 2022. Yilan/Suao is definitely one of the nicer places in Taiwan offering laidback environments.

Ww love Su'ao Lakeshore. The staff, especially Jess, is amazing and remembered everything about us from our previous visit. They are all so helpful including Mr. Lin, the housekeeper on the 13th floor, cleaning staff etc. We had a lovely view of the harbor and the mountainside. Breakfast is early until 12.00 which is wonderful as I can sleep in and still make it for breakfast. We will return again when we can

This is somewhere I'd come back if I brought my family! Bathrooms are big with two tubs for hot & cold spring water. Room itself is comfortable but hotel was at max capacity when we were there so there was a lot of corridor noise despite being at the end of the corridor. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast spread is something else entirely, serving wagyu beef shabu, chirashi don and other delicacies.

A chic hotel convenient located about 5 mins walk away from Suao train station. We were there at off peak season, not many tourists. The entire town just felt quiet and sleepy… peaceful.
Decent room size with huge bath tubs for hot spring and cold spring water bath. Iron rich hot spring smelled like rusty water… we had hot spring bath ever night to rest our tired body. Just perfect on those cold days.
Breakfast spread was decent. Lots of love delights. My favourite was the porridge and small dishes.
Parking available in B1. No disposable items provided in room. Instead, front desk will issue what you need at check in. No bottled water as well. Each level has a RO water point for you to DIY.
Only down side is the bed and noise isolation. We could hear next room perfectly clear throughout the night.

My first stay at the hotel for 1 night in yilan. The hotel upgraded me to a room with a in room onsen- it became one of the highlights of my stay in yilan as it was a region known for its hot springs and onsen bath experiences! The breakfast at the hotel was fabulous- great variety from your usual selections of bread and pastries to local delights. A really wonderful experience in itself and highly recommended if you are visiting yilan

I had wanted to go to this hot spring for a long time, where you can enjoy carbonated springs and reddish brown strong salt hot springs in your room, and finally I was able to visit. The bath in the room is divided into two, one is carbonated spring (almost the same temperature as the water), and the other is iron-containing, sodium-chloride strong salt hot springs that are almost the same as Japan's Kinyu (Arima Onsen). It is spacious enough for a couple to enter. I stayed for two nights, and on the first day I hardly left the hotel, and on the second day I just visited the nearby fishing port and spent the whole day relaxing in the hot springs. The room was spacious enough, and the meals were good both in the morning and at night (I had them here on the first day), so I think it was a good deal considering the price. They also seem to put a lot of effort into their services, such as sunrise viewing service (light meals provided) and daily wine service. From Taipei, take the express bus to Luodong, then take the bus or train to Suao, and from there it is about a 5-minute walk to the hotel. This time I moved around with a suitcase, but I was able to get around without too much trouble, so I would definitely recommend visiting Suao and staying here.

It was eight years ago since the last time I came here. For a hot spring hotel, it seems to be well maintained. However, it is a pity that there is no public bath, and the parent-child facilities are also a bit lacking. The bookstore on the top floor is designed to be used by not many people, so in a way, it is perfect for couples who want to have a quiet vacation and take a bath in the room. The last time I came, I was impressed by the chaos of the breakfast. It has been improved a lot in recent years, such as extending the breakfast time to 1 p.m. to accommodate the large number of guests having breakfast. The key point is that the breakfast dishes are excellent, and there are many special dishes and freshly cooked dishes. This makes me change my mind. After all, the hotel itself is not big and cannot expand the hardware equipment, but the improvement of the software equipment is also very interesting.

Grand ocean and mountain views with spacious balcony and sping tub made this trip rejuvated and cozy. Stylish library and swimming pool are another surprise for the guests. The local spots of harbor and museums are especially worthy to visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights.

Enjoyed our stay. Stayed in a King Room with Mountain View.

Room was really nice and the the in room hot spring was great.

We had breakfast at the hotel which was a big selection (Asian breakfast). The breakfast time lasts all morning which was EXCELLENT.

We used the hotel swimming pool which was good. But very limited seating, so peak season I imagine would be difficult.

The hotel is a short walk to the main road with places to eat etc. So we had dinner outside the hotel.

Take train/express bus 1819 from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station then take express bus from Taipei Bus Station to Luodong and change to local train from Luodong to Suao Station. You can also take taxi from Luodong to Lakeshore Hotel Suao - estimated taxi fare from Luodong to Lakeshore Suao is $450 NTD. If taking the local train from Luodong to Suao Station need to check on the train departure time. Nothing much to do around Lakeshore Hotel Suao though...like deserted place
