Detailed Reviews
Poor customer service! You find no smile on any staff’s face. We asked for one hour delay check out (latter on negotiated to 20 minutes) due to our other engagement, but were rejected. The lady insists any delay would incur extra charge. The other thing is, in earlier phone conversation, we were assured they provide foreign currency exchange service without minimum amount limit. But when we got there asking to change $30 to local money, they said only $100 or more can be accepted, then guided us to try finding a bank. What a disappointment!

The front desk is not friendly.
Pool is out of action for 9 months of the year.
Look only at the pool - then cry.
Especially when the temperature reaches 30 degrees in April.
Only one chair in the room.
So couples are not welcome.
No desk or area to work a laptop- the round table prevents access to the balcony.
The bath is lovely but there is s separate shower booth.
Crazy use of space - bathroom is bigger than the living area.
Good accommodation for one person who is not a swimmer☹️
Storage areas are non existent.
Stayed here for 10 days!
Too late to cancel.

We stayed here 4 nights. The hotel is just across the from Jiantan MRT so easy to get around. Also outside the MRT are bus stops to National Palace Museum and Yangmingshan amongst other places.
It’s a 5 mins walk to Shilin night market offering endless reasonably priced very tasty food options. We ate there every night.
The room and facilities were great but very techno. Fancy electric loo and all! The only problem is trying to switch all the lights and switches off to get peace to go to sleep. Everything is electronic and fancy!!
The only other thing to be aware of is breakfast is a bit mad for a westerner. It’s very high quality but nothing plain or simple. If you’re hoping for a piece of toast or yoghurt and fruit...you’re out of luck! I attach a photo of the menu so you’re forwarned.

I’m checking out tmr asked for later check out coz my flight to LA is at 11:55 pm. Receptionist said no. Asked her to talk to management, said already asked n they refused. If I wanna extend, I’ve to pay NT500 per hour. Wat rubbish!!! A lot of hotels I’ve stayed in always give a leeway since their other guests only allowed to check in after 3pm. I checked in near midnight coz my flight delayed for 3 hr. Wat a terrible service hotel. Location is good but breakfast is a joke. I didn’t bother after d first morning. I come to Taipei every year n this is how they treat their guest .. disappointed

Read reviews before I booked this hotel. All very positive.
Do not get me wrong the hotel itself is top notch hotel with a few not so top notch cons.
My Pros and Cons
Pros
1. Brand new hotel with a high tech room facility
2. Great mini bar, bathroom amenities such as this high tech bath with telly, tea and coffee making facility all free and topped up daily. Free water, free soft drinks and cakes.
3. Genuinely friendly staff with attention to details. They will try their hardest to help you.
4. Amazing location just off to the jiantan MRT and 3 mins to The infamous shilin Night market.
Cons and my suggestion to the management.
1. Set menu breakfast did not work it was 330 TWD plus 10% service. If you have to pay for it. I included breakfast with extra costs when I booked the hotel. All foods lukewarm with no taste, this watery orange juice is served in a mug I have no idea how much ice and water they mixed with. Fresh orange juice that say, I am not so sure about that. Coffee was also watery from this button pressed coffee machine and coffee tasted like the coffee bean was stored in there for 2 years with no coffee flavour at all. Creamy Mushroom soup tasted like it was made from this powder. No toast no jams. Portion was less than adequate. All served in this bling bling chinaware that was about it. If you want that you go ahead
2. Swimming pool. The staff said someone was allergic to the water blah blah blah, which I do not believe that was the case. It has been going on for sometime the hotel has not managed to resolve the issue to open the swimming pool. Swimming pool was there with water but closed. I was informed that the neighbors complained that they do not want to see half naked people around this was not from 100% legitimate source I have to say. If that was the case then you guys have to sort it out maybe you can build a fence or something. The hotel has not taken any actions to resolve this.
3. Room was smaller than what the picture and the details of the room said when I booked.
3. No restaurants and bars were operating maybe they could not compete with local restaurants and bars which are 10 times cheaper and tastier.
Other than those cons I am having a great time I have 4 more days to go but I am scared to have a breakfast because I know what I am going to get tomorrow morning. Yes I am still staying here even as I write this review.
To the management
I understand that you want to minimise the food waste and reduce the cost of providing breakfast but “NOT THIS WAY” it was the most inadequate breakfast I ever had. It is because of this decision, your staff are suffering and get the negative response from the customers. You have a choice to improve this or ignore. The decision is yours but remember in the long term you are not going to save that much when you start losing the customers.

Ah-maze-ing! I like visiting different hotels, and this one just made it to the top of my list! My boyfriend and I spent an hour checking out all the electronic and bathroom fittings in the room. The Toto washlet is the whole shebang - it has an automatic sensor that lifts up the lid when one approaches it. The hotel provides complimentary mini bar items (soft drinks, pineapple tarts, good coffee and tea). The jacuzzi was simply awesome! There is a second TV in the room so one can watch cable channels while soaking in the tub. Water pressure is great. The TV in the room has cable and also a selection of movies. Love the Qi charger and two USB ports on the bedside table. Curtains can be opened and close with a remote control. The view was so beautiful! There is a microwave in the room too! Strong wifi signal. Swimming pool open from Apr to Nov. The reception was professional. Wish I spent more nights at the hotel!

Found the hotel via tripadvisor and we have been overwhelmed by the great service. Friendly, smiling staff members no matter when we met the staff.
Lovely - yet different breakfast. Lovely little menu and you get introduced to very tasty breakfast.
The room is stunning and modern with all the great items needed to make the stay an unforgettable experience (massage chair, lovely spa, free bar and lovely options for tea and coffee.
Great location a bit away from the central vibe however the train station is across the road.
Warmly recommend this place!

Stayed 3Ns in a mini suite with washer. Overall recommended for new room and convenient location. Note though the property face the train track, so there are noise, but tolerable even though I’m a light sleeper.
Likes
- new and clean room, and hotel’s decor is aesthetically pleasing
- train station beside it, and just ~30mins drive (light traffic) to Taoyuan airport
- 3mins walk to the famous Taipei night market
- mini suite has a washer and is tucked in a quiet corner
- front desk as good as any five star chain
- still happy to serve breakfast after the stated time
I would rate 5 if not for these...
- water pressure of shower not adjustable; felt water wasting
- house keeper kept all lights on when I return the 2nd night, kept all lights off and threw the key card on the floor the 3rd night (that is rude)

I have been going to Taiwan/Taipei on business for over 2 decades and have seen my share of the good, bad and ugly. Tango was recommended by a local contact and it truly surprised me. This is not a remodel. It was build as a hotel. Really well planned.
The rooms are decent size, decor and furnishings A++ and best of all it is across the street from the metro station and night market that is one of the must sees in Taipei.
Another great feature is the great gourmet breakfast that is served at the table!
Overall I give this property my highest rating for the location, offering and price.

I stayed at mountain room booked through agoda stating room size is 46sq meter. The room size is about 30sq meter only which is much smaller as stated in their website. Checked with the hotel and they said it is 44sq meter. Disappointed with their reply and did not correct the room size at all.
