Check-in was hassle free as well and definitely will be back and recommended to all!
The BBQ food just infront of the apartment is delicious and suit our taste. the apartment is accessible from the train station and to other parts of hualien, if you want to walk around.
Getting to the apartment in Hualien is easy as it is just located opposite the library (this is what I told the taxi driver and immediately he knows where it is)
Highly recommended if you are looking for a clean and price worthy place to stay!
Note that the bathrooms in some rooms are transparent glass. we didn't know until we check in. Do check with the owner after you book. :)
Exit towards the front station, go straight to the traffic light cross over then turn right. Go straight about 3 minutes (Around 200 meters). The hotel is actually opposite the Hualien Public Library. It's a white building in the corner.
The rooms are very spacious and big. Upon check in, the staff will give you a map and will introduce you to the popular areas to go and nice food places to try.
Just beside the hotel, there is a shop (Country Side Burger) that you can have breakfast before you start your day trip/tour.
1. Apartment was within walking distance from the Train station
2. Friendly receptionist (FOOD Map/details was fully provided)
3. Clean room
4. Strong WI-FI
4. Mini Pantry
What we don't like: 0
Like:
1) Location wise, it is quite near to the train station.
2) Hotel building looks new. Room is chic, spacious and very clean. Bathroom is also spotlessly clean. Bed is comfortable.
3) Friendly hotel staff. Upon arrival, he briefed us on the recommended food stalls in Hualien and also provide us with options to book cab/drivers to various tourist attractions around Hualien including Taroka Gorge, East Coast Driveway, etc
4) Free supply of coffee/tea/milo at the pantry next to the reception counter
5) The cleaning ladies did a wonderful job during our 2-day stay
6) Free Wifi.
Dislike
1) Location is about 20 min walk to the city centre.
"Anyway, some advice regarding room choice. Room 201, the room we stayed in, is facing the street and has a floor to ceiling window. Although I was told I shouldn't be able to hear traffic noise, I could (I have pretty good ears). Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be an issue for 90% of people, but I used ear plugs. Also, although the room had curtains, this particular room had a clear glass wall separating the room and the bathroom/toilet (so, if you are squeamish about doing your ablutions in full view of your bedmate, request a room with a more private bathroom), and had a long window along the top of the wall without any kind of curtain. So, it is not a dark room. That being said, it seemed that 2-3 of the other rooms on the floor had no windows. So, if you want darkness, perhaps they would be better choices. One last piece of information to help you choose a room is that you can hear people above you. The person/people in the room above us seemed to be dragging the furniture around and bouncing a ball. If you are a light sleeper or someone who needs silence to get to sleep, then I'd request a room on the top floor (There are four floors with rooms on the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. The 5th floor is actually the 4th floor due to the number 4 being unlucky.)."Read full review
