Overall, we had a great experience during our 5 nights stay in Room 816.
The staff attitude, room cleanliness, and hotel products including breakfast buffet are excellent. The location is absolutely perfect too, everything you need is in walking distance.
However, there are some minor opportunities for improvement in a few areas below:
Room Charge privilege: I believe the property use Opera and it’s expected that guests should be able to charge to the room and settle incidental at check out. Instead, the front desk ask us to settle breakfast daily which is annoying.
Guest Room Amenities: the quality of the towel can be better. It’s rough. In addition, international travelers would expect to have robes, wash cloths, and a clock in the room.
From the emotional engagement standpoint, it’s not necessary part of the Taiwanese’s culture to be “warm and fuzzy” However, a personalized greetings and conversation can build a stronger relationship with guests.
From the business perspective, I think the property can better utilize the 2nd floor space. The library is cool, but under utilized. An on-site Spa with treatment rooms or even a Cafe/In Room dining/ small Bar could be more profitable.
That’s my two cents. I love the property and will definitely stay at Just Sleep again in the future. Thank you very much for a memorable stay.

Definitely full of praises for this hotel! They provided us a free room upgrade, and I really enjoyed my 2 nights stay with them. The room is really comfortable, and there's water dispenser on every level!
Only disadvantage is that they are not located near the TRA station (But you can't have the best of both world, I mean they are smack right in the city!) They do provide free shuttle service to and from the train station, but only at certain timing (10am to 5pm from Hualien station to the hotel, and 10.30am to 5.30am from the hotel to Hualien station). You do need to book the shuttle service in advance though so they can make arrangement internally). If you are taking cab, it costs around NT$150 (15 to 20 mins ride).
Love their breakfast too! They changed their food selection during our 2 nights stay there. Really satisfied with my stay here!

The best is location and friendly staff in JustSleep. Delicious breakfast is also good ones, just a little bit noise from the other room. We will back to here next trip in Hualien again. Oh, I forgot the other outstanding is so many books can enjoy for reading, You can always find what you want, for men, for women, for boy, for girl, for children. Parking is one of disadvantage, the parking space is not not so enough in hotel, it means you need park car in 5 mins walk distance away. It good for walking but not good for carry on your luggage walk with you. If the day is hot or raining, it will make you inconvenient. Or you need park in front door, drop your luggage, then drive to parking.

飯店位置方便，走路3分鐘可到中華路，走路15分鐘可到東大門夜市，飯店服務人員親切，主動告知停車場位置並提供地圖給房客，大廳有提供迎賓風味茶與麻薯，早餐很棒，有公正包子，廟口紅茶，剝皮辣椒，花蓮大西瓜，檳榔花等等地方特色食物。
The location of the hotel is convenient. It takes 3 minutes to walk to Zhonghua Road, and 15 minutes to walk to Dongdamen Night Market. The hotel service staff is friendly and proactively informs the parking lot location and provides a map to the guests. The lobby provides welcome flavored tea and mochi, and the breakfast is very good. Yes Just buns, Miaokou black tea, peeled peppers, Hualien watermelon, betel nut flowers and other local specialties.

Clean, cosy & nice hotel. The 2nd floor library is filled with comics book which is great plus for comics book lover. The breakfast is a spoilt for choice that has huge variety. There are water dispenser available for refilling of water. An awesome hotel to stay in. 👍

Took the public bus using google map to the hotel.
Room was spacious and the tub was nice.Breakfast was very good, vegetables were fresh and they have a note to tell guests which ones were the local produce.The location of hotel is also near the famous eateries and so it was very convenient.
Will definitely stay there again!

The location is good, visit and buy special gifts are convenient and fast to get the destination. The room is quite large, very bright, and the water of bathroom is big and hot. There’s reading room, kids playing room and fitting rooms. And the snacks time is very nice for take a rest.

We had a very great experience in this hotel. The location is super close to the down town , walking distance to the night market. The facility is also great too, there is a room for children to play and read. The people who work here also extremely friendly, they gave great advise sign seeing place around this area . We had a great time staying here and will definitely come back again!

Good and central hotel near the night market.
Free parking was not available in our case but they offered to pay for street parking.
The modern Room was of a good size with a small balcony. The room size didn't feel like a "superior room", though.
Breakfast was good and vegetarian and vegan dishes clearly marked in English.

Hualien is a district capital, quite busy, especially in the evening. It is also favorite tourist destination, so there is a lot of traffic around, especially on sea-side road and in Taroko National Park area. I am not sure about motorbike hire, but I guess it is available, a lot of motorcycle traffic there.
We didn't join the private tour as we are a family of 4 and wanted a more tailored experience. I would recommend this if you can find a few other co-travellers. If you are not going in high season, there is no need to book online before hand, or call the hotel to see what they can offer before hand. The hotel organised a private coach who also acted as a guide for NT$3500 for whole day. The guide was very experienced and accomodating. For example, he gave us a list of places for us to choose and plan to trip based around our preferrence with his suggestions. He gave us information on which places have been closed due to weather, which places to visit first due to time restrictions (eg road work). On our way back we could see long lines of Taiwanese cars stuck behind because they did not time the trip right. The car was a volkswagon van, pretty standard for the area. What I liked was it was clean with working seat belts. This was a very reasonable rate. I would avoid negotiating on your own unless you have family or friends who are local. You may get it cheap but be taken by some amateur tour guide.
