The room is spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable and the cable TV program provided is with a wide variety of choice. There is heater in the room as it is really difficult to find in most of the Taiwanese hotel.
The breakfast is great though those are congees with some typical Taiwanese side dishes.
I will definitely come to this hotel.
We joined one 8-hr tour per his suggestion since we would go to 清水断崖and七星潭along the way.
Easy to buy food and daily toiletries from the shops & stalls nearby.
The hotel is conducive for a good sleep & of course, a stress-free location to explore Hualien city.
Review by: Singapore traveller Peiling & Mom
We had a free upgrade to a king size bed and a very spacious room (early Dec). It was very clean and well maintained. Buffet breakfast is great with a variety of food.
The staff were decently fluent in English and they go above and beyond to assist you .
The hotel also picks up and drops off guests at Hualian main station for free!
Like I said before - what more could you ask for?
The pickup service from the Train Station was great. The Staff were very friendly & helpful. ‘Mr.Nick’ went out of his way to look after us - with his excellent English language skills. He even drove us to the Bus depot to buy tickets for the next day, even going to the counter with us to help.
When we were planning our holiday, I noticed many people talking about a need to stay close to the Main Train Station. With the very efficient Pick-up service that this hotel provides, I believe you are better advised to stay in this great centrally located Hotel.
The manager, Nick and Linda were really amicable! We were fickle minded in where we want to go on that day but they were really patience in giving us suggestions and even printing out the places they suggested us to go. I'm truely impressed by the service they give. Can't wait to go back to this hotel again!
Perks of staying in this hotel
- Free rental of bicycle anytime, anyday
- Strategically good location (night markets and beaches are just miles away)
- Great staffs who will go the extra mile for you
- Delicious breakfast buffet
P.S If you are traveling to Hualien during summer, you should try rafting! Get the staff to help u arrange it! They are really more than willing to see the smiles of their guest:)
Room was very clean, the staffs were very friendly, specially the manager, Nick, he would help you almost anything you asked. Even booked our train tickets for us back to Taipei. The free breakfast were very good, made me felt like home.
Me and my family had two wonderful nights staying in East Town 26.
Certainly I,m looking forward to stay in East Town 26 again in my next visit to Hualien.
I just want to say thanks to Nick and his staffs if you ever see this recommend.

Another plus point for them; we went on the '太鲁阁’ side trip that was arranged by the hotel through a local travel agency. While travelling in the mini bus, the driver unknowingly left the registry next to our seats, and we saw how much everyone else actually paid. Other hotels collected NT800 per person, while East Town26 was the only hotel that honestly collected NT700 per person. The amount may not be much, but it fully shows their integrity & sincerity.
I highly recommend the service of this hotel to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive place to bunk over for a couple of days, in HuaLien City. It lives out the essence of the tag-line as shown in my title :D
Every aspect of the hotel had exceeded my expectations. The room I got was huge, clean and very well appointed. There are also several English TV channels like CNN, etc (this should be a consideration as there is really not much nightlife in Hualien). Bathroom was big and the hot water supply was stable.
The hotel is very strategically located right in the middle of the city and very close to the rainbow night market. You will be spoilt for choice for eateries around the area.
The hotel also provides free bicycles for you to ride to nearby areas. I rode it to the shoreline to see the beautiful sunset. The bikes are of reasonably good road worthy conditions too.
The breakfast was good. Enough selections of both western and Taiwanese varieties to get you going for the day. Some items were also very tasty.
Last but not least, the service accorded by the staff was amazing. Those I had encountered were all very friendly and helpful in more ways than one. Some of them actually went beyond their call of duty. To illustrate, when I enquires about how to change my train schedule, one of the staff on night duty actually made provided accurate advice and even made a reservation online on my behalf. To top it off, another staff had volunteered to change the ticket for me the next day as he needed to visit the train station.
If you need help on your sightseeing itinerary in Hualien, be rest assured that you will be in good hands should you seek advice from the hotel staff. While I am not sure if everyone spoke English, this should not be a deal breaker as I believe that everyone will try his/her best to help, esp Nick, the manager.
Great job guys, keep it up.
