Due to Corona virus spread, this hotel offered a special discount during weekday. We stayed two nights and one more night on our way back to fully enjoy Hualien trip. The service is great, the room is clean and the foods are delicious. The staff were very friendly except a bit discomfort on changing room during my stay (normally, the Hotel would accommodate the guests stay in the same room). Anyway, we enjoyed the stay and our trip.

We enjoyed staying at Fullon Hualien so much. We came Friday evening by train to Hualien City for two tours on Saturday and Sunday in the area, and left Monday morning. The train station is a quick 15 minutes taxi ride away. We enjoyed this hotel and its amenities. We arrived on the eve of the Taroko Gorge Marathon but there was also many large tour groups staying, including a huge group of cyclists who were doing a multi-leg Taiwan perimeter ride. Despite the huge volume of guests, staff was extremely attentive and took care of our needs and questions promptly. Our room was comfortable and spacious and included some fruit and snacks, everything was clean and I slept like a rock. For dinner we took a 10 minute taxi ride to the night market for delicious eats and also tried a restaurant within a block or two that was yummy. We loved the breakfast buffet which included many Western and Taiwanese favorites but I enjoyed the many vegetarian options as well as noodles and congee, fruit, soymilk and cereals. The pool was a nice option and I liked having the fitness room available. I look forward to coming back to Hualien and would stay at the Fullon Hotel again.

Very nice hotel. Had a room with sea view but not much to see. Easy check-in. English speaking staff. Extensive free breakfast. Free easy parking. Restaurant was closed for dinner. Room service did not respond to repeated calls. A good value overall.

This is a large full service hotel. Very large lobby, large and uncrowded (if noisy) dining room, WiFi everywhere. My room was large and well-appointed, large modern bathroom with plenty of toiletries. Concierge very helpful. Recommended.

We stayed one night at the Fullon Hotel on the east coast. It was part of a package two-day tour, but turned out to be the most splendid place, dominating the skyline of the town. From our short stay in Hualien, we got the impression of a rather faded tourist destination, but that may be wrong. The Fullon is certainly the place to stay, with very generous space, excellent facilities and attentive staff. Although near the coast, we struggled to find the sea, but there may be a better route than the one we found past the cement works!

Good : new hotel so clean big rooms, hotel staff was polite and courteous, sea view was excellent.
Average: Located 2-3 km away from city downtown
Poor: Horrible food, we had a late lunch after hike and it was pathetic, both me any friend could not eat anything, fried rice was stale, chicken curry had odd smell .... Even breakfast buffet was very very average.

Again, I am reviewing an hotel that can't understand the most important point of staying in a hotel: being able to sleep!!!!
At the Fullon, somebody decided to install ultra modern LED lit EXIT signs in all rooms, without considering that the sign actually flows the whole room with light during the night. So, unless you bring an eye mask, forget about sleeping.
As if the light issue was not enough, the air con system has been installed without silencers, and even when turned off it keeps emitting a strong humming sound, so if you only brought the mask, hard luck! You should also have brought ear plugs.
Seriously, what is in the designer/architech/manager's mind when they build hotels?
Breakfast is a typical taiwanese affair, mainly adapted to the locals' taste. No point in trying to get bread that actually tastes bread, not uncommon in the island, but for 100USD/night, they could try to provide better western options, Hualien is not a metropoli for sure, but somewhere there must be a decent baker.
And finally, if you plan to use the swimming pool, bear in mind that they require you to wear the kind of tight professional swimmer's swimming suits that would only fit somebody with Johnny Weismuller's muscular body, and just looks disgusting on any body else. If you are image conscious and wish to wear your every-day's bath trunks you will have to pretend you never saw the sign at the entrance and ignore it for the greater good of esthetics.

We stayed one night at Fullon Hotel Hualien. It is located not in the city center, but the area was very nice and safe. The staffs were friendly and polite. The front desk staffs spoke english fluently. Our room was spacious, clean and modern, completed with great amenities. We got the room that has sea view. The bed were comfy. We had a good night sleep there.
We stayed in 4 different hotels on our trip to Taiwan, Fullon Hotel Hualien was the one that has the best breakfast buffet. They provided a wide selections from local to international dishes and it tasted great too. We didn't have to queue since the dining room was big.
The swimming pool was just okay, our daughter swam there. Towel was provided. In Taiwan, if you want to swim you have to wear a swim cap, otherwise they won't let you enter the pool.
Overall we had a great experience staying there. We would gladly recommend it to any traveler to Hualien.

wonderful stay here. Super clean, ultra comfortable. I slept like a baby. Wide array of food available for breakfast - western cuisine and Chinese cuisine. Really appreciated the excellent service, cleanliness, and food. Great place to stay after visiting Taroko. Would definitely stay here again.
