I was in Hualien one night for a business visit and decided to give this hotel a try as the new Le Meridien I was hoping for would not open until January 2024 and I am glad I made the right choice! This is a simple local hotel located in the center of downtown with great facilities and super comfortable guestrooms - I now understand why the hotel review is so wonderful. Location of the hotel is also within short walking distance the famous Dongdamen Night Market (2 blocks away). People at front desk reception need a little bit training but my local language fluency help ease the communication issue. I was assigned to a comfortable, modern and spacious room with everything laid out nicely. A few nice little touches I was surprised to see (e.g. a bidet) in a local hotel at a lesser popular city in Taiwan. Overall the interior is great. My only issue is the bed is a bit too hard for me otherwise everything else is fine. Breakfast is served on the first floor in a huge dining space with plenty of food item choices. Boy was I surprised to see so many tourists from Southeast Asia! Guess this hotel is popular among tourists.
To sum up, this hotel is absolutely a pleasant find. It does cater to tourists but it is also suitable for short business trip purpose. Most importantly, this hotel is very reasonably priced considering its location and facilities. I am planning to use Le Meridien for my future trip but if the price is too high, I would be more than happy to return to this nice local hotel.

I booked the Full Kind Hotel based on price, location, and breakfast. I am glad I did, the hotel was easy to find, close to a lot of great activities and attractions, and the breakfast was super every morning. The rooms were modern and spacious. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Hotel facility clean since it is only a year old. Amenities are limited and furnishings are spartan. The breakfast buffet is pretty average and nothing terribly special.
Service was extremely underwhelming here, as the staff are complacent and not attentive to guests. They were the least friendly of all the hotels we stayed at in Taiwan.
Most importantly, the hotel has extremely odd policies. One of them is that the full amount for our 2 night stay was due upon check-in, which we thought was unusual.
Another odd policy was something we learned upon check out, when we couldn’t find one of the card keys for our room and could only return one of them. The young man at the desk informed us that the charge was $200NT for a missing plastic card key. This was the most absurd thing we had heard so far—a card key that many people keep or throw away for security reasons. Even worse was that the policy DEFINITELY was not disclosed at check-in. I asked the young man to show me the written policy about the charge, and he could not find it anywhere in their documents! Sounds like a total scam.
We argued that this was unreasonable, and the young man mumbled something about looking for it when they clean our room and he let us go.
I will be checking my credit card and WILL dispute it if they actually try to charge me $200NT.
Be careful with this hotel.
