It was necessary to book something urgently, since we were already flying from Jakarta to Bali, and the reservation of the previous hotel was canceled for some reason. Luckily, one place remained free for our dates.

Just spent a week at Villa Lumbung. We had a hotel room style accomodation but there are also plenty of villas. Very happy with our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and nice. The room had a good functioning safe, a small bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets, towels and two bottles of water per day. The airconditioner was modern, quiet and functioned very well - an absolute must for a Bali holiday. The pool and grounds were beautiful and made great photo opportunities. There is security at the front entrance 24 hours a day and we felt very safe. The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and plentiful. Pool towels are provided. Umbrellas are provided. There is an on site money changer and transport service or friendly, trustworthy drivers are available at the entry driveway. There is a bar, restaurant and daily buffet breakfast with a chef cooking eggs/omelettes to your liking included. It was well stocked with a variety of breakfast choices and drinks including tea/coffees/fresh juices. Selection of breads and pastries also included. Heaps of choices of restaurants, bars, massage places, shops & stalls, grocery stores, laundry facilities all within easy walking distance. We ate at a different restaurant every night and all were great. As with everyone in Bali they are accessible via whatsapp and we arranged airport pickup before leaving Australia by contact through whatsapp. Very responsive and quick communications. Absolutely happy with our stay. Clean, beautiful quiet hotel with all of the conveniences nearby. Kid friendly too. The pool was cleaned every morning and was large and picturesque with enough spaces and options to mingle or have your own privacy.

My wife and I stayed at this absolute hidden gem for my birthday on Feb 2024. After travelling for nearly 20 hours from Ireland, we were greeted by the most amazing staff, they gave us cold towels and a refreshing drink while we checked in. We do travel a lot but I must say this hotel is the best we have ever stayed in. Staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a great experience. We were bed and breakfast which was always well presented and always hot, we did use their restaurant a few times which had an extensive menu and reasonably priced and again the food was delicious. Pool area, bar, reception and surrounding area was perfectly clean. Room was cleaned every day. Anyone looking for good clean hotel in a quiet area of semiyak, look no further this hotel has it all. Traditional old school Bali hotel. Lots of things to like about the Lumbung. Relaxed, very good prices for the hotel rooms, lovely staff and service. Breakfast is adequate with eggs freshly cooked, rice, fruit, pastries and toast etc. The hotel is however rather dated and doesn't look like much has been done to improve the facade of the hotel. The Lumbung rooms are unique but are about a three star. Expect old stained linen, few insects and bugs and dated window furnishings. I'd recommend it for the rooms as they are a good price but not sure the Lumbung was worth the extra money compared with similar hotels in the vicinity. Having said that, we enjoyed our time with lovely staff. The cats that roam the gardens are an added bonus.

We stayed at Hotel Villa Lumbung for 5 nights. We arrived and were greeted with cold wet towels and a beer which was lovely. The front reception and all staff at the resort were fantastic. We were shown to our room (a ground floor villa) and our friends were shown to a nearby 1st floor villa. Our villa was lovely with an external bathroom. We were given fresh water (2 bottles) daily. The buffet breakfast was delicious each day. Cocktails / happy hour in the swim up bar was great fun with great service.
The main problems that we had which really were frustrating and provided us with only a satisfactory stay were :
- Villa AC wasn’t very cold. After the 2nd night of the room not cooling and extreme heat we asked to be moved to another villa which was organised for us. In the original villa we were located near the pool but also an area that had all the tree trimmings and rubbish. We had an insane amount of mosquitoes. With the lack of AC plus a night of extreme heat and mozzies we were very uncomfortable and now home are both very unwell. Moving to the other villa did help slightly with the mozzies however the villa doors do not shut adequately so they still come in during the night regardless. - The pool area was lovely but like most of the resort needs an upgrade . The chairs are slightly mouldy as are the bean bags laying around. We used towels (when available) to place on the chairs to stop the mould smell. - After breakfast on 2 occasions we went to lay by the pool and there was a lot of left over rubbish and beer bottles from the night before. The poor pool boy had to clean up this mess (which I assume is daily) in front of a lot of people which should really have been completed before the pool area was to be used.

Stayed two night in a Lumbung room upstairs. Hotel is quiet and well placed despite the traffic chaos outside on streets. It was quiet and grounds are well kept. Staff welcoming and offered us a welcome drink on arrival and refresher towel, a nice touch, our room was large with day bed and balcony, the internal stairs from the ground floor door had an interconnecting door to the room below, this allowed a lot of noise from guests below to travel up to our room. The air-conditioning unit was intermittent and did not consistently provide cold air, it also leaked water onto the floor. Room was clean and servicing was good. Our balcony doors would not fully close leaving gaps at each side allowing insects to crawl in, we also heard geckos in the roof space at night and other noises unknown. The pool water was slightly murky so we only swam once. The hotel staff need to have a policy around reserving loungers, at the pool, there were not enough seats and people placed their towels and bags on the loungers early before breakfast and stayed unoccupied for a lot of the day, extremely inconsiderate. Also there was loud music being played from the bar for a group using the swim-up pool bar, management needs to control the noise and be more aware of how uncomfortable it is with the noise, many guests had retreated back to their terraces and balconies because of the volume. Breakfast was the worst out of the three hotels we stayed at in Bali, the choice is minimal and the food only warm, filter coffee awful. Once this hotel would have been excellent but lack of maintenance has made everything look shabby and run down. There are better options around, we would not return.

We have stayed here many times, for the gardens and unique Lumbung style room. Unfortunately the prices vary wildly - booking early can see you pay double compared to last minute. Also, we were surprised to be charged $7.20 for two 250ml soda waters - no glass, no ice - when we were waiting to check out. The pool area is nice, but to boost business they have changed it to encourage families and day drinkers to hang out there, making it much noisier than it used to be. Sadly, like much of Bali, they are sacrificing the natural beauty and peaceful vibes in order to chase the bucks 🤷🏻♀️

We recently spent 8 nights at Hotel Vila Lumbung and are already planning our next stay.
Staff at reception were welcoming and friendly. They made the whole process very easy and stress free.
Our room was the Deluxe Lumbung and was up stairs. It was a traditional Balinese feel room with amazing high Cathedral ceilings, lots of windows and perfect air-conditioning. Serviced daily which was lovely. Yes there were some bugs at night but we had our doors to our balcony open so expected them. The bed was huge and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Daily bottled water to use in the bathroom.
The breakfast, which was included was plentiful and varied. If you can't find anything you like you are too fussy!!
The grounds and the pool were well kept and absolutely beautiful. On some days there was a lack of sunbeds but there are also beanbags that are available. 2 for 1 cocktails poolside is the only way to finish a busy day in Bali! Poolside service could have been a bit better but that's just because we didn't want to get up and walk to the bar! Or we could have sat at the pool bar! 😳
We lashed out and had a 3 hour spa package and left feeling so relaxed and pampered. AMAZING!!
All the staff from the reception, bar, restaurant, grounds and cleaning we always friendly and helpful. Nothing was a too much for them.

This property was disappointing - extremely run down. Doesn't look anything like the photos. The room smelt, air con noisy, bathroom was dirty and had a bath/shower with a huge step to get in. Very noisy in the hall ways at night as everything echoed. The pool area was terrible, broken concrete everywhere. Pool service was non existent, no one came around for 2 hours and on multiple occasions we had to go and find someone to serve us. Breakfast was average - hardly any healthily choices. The hotel is in a good location and even though its busy outside its far off the road so you can't hear any noise once in the hotel.

This was our third visit to Lumbung, our first since covid. We loved being back but noted that it could do with some work to bring it up to the price-point it is operating at. The gardens are still amazing, the pool was lovely, but you could see some serious maintenance will be due soon. As usual the staff did a fabulous job, although I did hear that they were understaffed, so well done for that. Breakfast was nice, but quite often you had to wait for items to be refilled (a first world problem if I ever heard one!) Our room was great, but once again they could do with some love, the mattress was not as comfortable as I remember, and the pillows were awful. Thankfully the air-con was great! We were surprised at the whole appearance of Seminyak, it really appears to have gone backwards, which is a shame, (we realise covid has had a lot to do with this, but even so...) I think next time in Bali we might try Legian or Sanur??

Hi,we have stayed in the 3 bed villa and it's a great space for 5 people, it's over 3 floors with the middle being a twin room, very spacious, only drawback is the top two rooms share a bathroom, was ok for us but just something to bare in mind.
They are situated back from the pool and are pretty quiet.
