This is a beautiful, tranquil, relaxing place. The bungalows are lovely with really cool showers built out of rock. The pool is great and central. The beach out front is rocky but if you walk to the left there are sandy places to enter the water and swim and its deserted! This place is close to Temae beach which is also gorgeous! The owners live on site and are very kind and helpful. They will make dinner if you sign up in the morning and will help you book tours. This location is behind the airport and golf course so having your own car or scooter is ideal although we didn't have either and were fine. They can rent you a car or bike right from the lodging. There are dogs on the property but they are well behaved and the owners make sure they are. There is a place next door that has a restaurant or the golf course has a restaurant too. Lots of places in Tahiti will pick you up if you want to eat at their restaurant so there are lots of food options. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet garden setting right on the beach with bungalows.

So after reading some of the reviews on here I had to laugh, the only aloof ones here are the German Shepherds. As much as I have tried to make friends they just ignore me.
We had the warmest of welcomes from Anne who continued to be nothing but charming and helpful throughout our stay.
Our bungalow was absolutely charming and we could hear the waves breaking on the beach from there. It is true that if the sun doesn't shine your shower is cold but in such beautiful surroundings I love the green ethos of the lodge. There is a hot shower you can use if this is the case. My only disappointment with this was there is no lock on the door and there is gaps in the bamboo walls but then I'm a prudish Brit and not a free spirited bohemian women.
The food is absolutely divine. Breakfast is the freshest fruits and breads and croissants. The jams and juices are produced locally which we loved. Dinner is limited but they are only catering for a few so you would expect it to be.
The beach is not for sunbathing and the sea here is wild as nature intended but we still managed to snorkel. The fish we saw were amazing.
Isobel has been very accommodating and friendly and although we have not seen her husband much when we did he was always friendly.
The Green Lodge is remote and it is expensive but everywhere here is expensive. The lodge has cars and bikes that you can hire so you are not stranded.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay her and would recommend it to anyone who can appreciate the smaller places to stay with a personal touch rather than an impersonal corporate monster.
A truly magical stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay here in late June, and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a fantastic introduction to French Polynesia. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with. The location is slightly off the beaten track, but is worth it, right on the beach and a little quieter. There are half a dozen or so bungalows, we were delighted with our garden view bungalow and loved the look of the stone shower (just would have like a bit more water pressure). The bungalow was clean, nicely decorated and had a large comfortable bed. We really enjoyed the breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, croissants, and jams was provided on the deck overlooking the pool. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try other meals here. I certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone considering staying here.

A beautiful place unfortunately spoiled by the unfriendly, even arrogant and contemptuous character of the manager
When you arrive you have 3 minutes to read the internal regulations before signing
Evening meal very good but expensive
A little far from everything
You can't swim on the beach but there is a swimming pool, unfortunately the cleaning robot remained for 3 days without being removed
And it's difficult to make comments without receiving an unpleasant response.
As has already been said in other reviews, the fuel management of rental cars is unheard of. New car but gauge broken (supposedly) which allows you to scrounge up a little extra money. In the event of a puncture you must pay for the repair
The excursions offered are partly payable in cash to the green lodge, the rest to the excursionist. So they only offer activities for which they are paid
On the other hand, the Polynesian staff are very friendly.
Given the personality of the manager I can only advise against this establishment
During a 3 week stay in Polynesia this is the only place where the welcome was so cold

Great rooms, shame about the hospitality!
This small lodge is charming and well-decorated, but the hospitality leaves much to be desired. The management are unwelcoming and unhelpful, which is reflected in their responses to reviews.
One major issue was the lack of food on site bar present with no snacks or meals —only a basic breakfast of fruit, mixed mini bread and jams was provided without warning, leaving us stranded without options. With no help offered to find alternatives, I had nothing to eat and relied on Motu Grill for dinner when that was open. If you’re not renting a vehicle or traveling solo, I’d avoid this place.
I had the beach room view. Beautifully decorated, however can be noisy at night. The hosts made you feel like you were an intruder in their house, dogs barking, walls thin, no smiles as you leave or enter your room as you are in their house.
The air conditioning is also a problem, as you can’t adjust the temperature, which is inconvenient. Also strict on no outside food policy and strict rule’s around pool area hence reluctant to use amenities.
The beach is convenient , with broken coral and pebbles, though it does offer a nice view of Tahiti. Moorea bring your reef shoes.
Pros: Nice premise, pool and bar. breakfast staff friendly ,Rock pools, Moto Grill next door Charming rooms . Eco -friendly culture more for romantic couples avoiding crowds. Ocean bungalows.
Tips : Remote area away from town. Need own transportation. Avoid beach room view, Limited food and grocery options, so organised your own. Missing welcoming vibe that should be expected .
Zero variety in breakfast and food choices.
Long induction with accommodation policy.
Need reef shores for the pebbly beachfront.
Beware, of dogs and roosters on-site if you’re a light sleeper. More like an AirBNB with an average host.

Only positive: the staff is smiling, available and made us nice welcome. This is why we are surprised by the behavior of the boss, who
Takes people down as soon as we report a malfunction. We are not in the Polynesian spirit or that of a family pension. We stayed
4 days without hot water, which is recurrent from previous reviews: we feared it and it was confirmed. Only solution proposed: shower in an annex room if there is enough pressure. Impractical at night and unpleasant when you rent in an establishment whose services should match the price. It's solar, you say? Please indicate this on your website and at least tell the customer when they arrive. No compensation or excuses or empathy. A lack of respect that seems quite natural, usual. Everything is minimal in the establishment, you can feel the will to save money.
Too bad the place is nice even if it is isolated.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and here is a summary of the positive and negative points.
Good points :
- Proximity to Moorea airport, including the takeoff runway and less than 500 m from the hotel
- Proximity to the port of Moorea
- cars and scooters available for rental in the hotel itself
- friendly welcome and possibility to use the hotel facilities (shower, toilet) while waiting for check-in time at 2 p.m.
- good and varied breakfast with fresh juice, coffee, fruit, toast and very good pastries
- hotel located in front of the sea with a magnificent show of humpback whales that you can see if you are lucky
- pretty, well-equipped bungalow with mini fridge, wardrobe and safe
- lovely bathroom, very spacious and well decorated
- proximity to a very beautiful public beach, accessible in 15 minutes on foot
- the hotel reimbursed us for the commissions for a whale watching trip missed due to rain: this trip was interrupted due to bad weather. We appreciated this commercial gesture
Negative points :
- difficult swimming in the beach opposite the hotel
- no free transfer offered to the airport, the runway of which is opposite the hotel
- no shops next to the hotel, you need to have a car to do some shopping and buy water for example
- no bottle of water in the room upon arrival
- dinner is not systematically offered, you must reserve in the morning for breakfast
- excessive commissions taken by the hotel for excursions that it does not even organize: it is however a simple phone call that they need with their partners to reserve places (commission of 1200 XFP for the 4x4 outing and 5200XFP, or €43, for a whale watching outing)*
- a remark from the hotel manager really displeased us when we left: she did not fail to make a remark to us regarding the size of our 2 suitcases, and she made the same remark when faced with to the taxi driver who came to pick us up, saying word for word "they brought the whole house!"... madam, I don't see why the size of our suitcases is a problem for you (all the tourists who come in Polynesia take large suitcases, we are no exception!), it is us who transport them after all, and your staff does not help us and we have not complained about it. Whether our suitcases are big or small, it's our business and it's none of your business.
- ban on hanging out your laundry to dry on the terrace of the bungalow, and that's annoying
- lack of power of water flow in the shower

We stayed in one of the lodges closest to the beach. It was a lovely room with the sound of the waves just metres away. The dinner we had was excellent which is a real bonus. Wifi was pretty awful and non-existent in our room. It is true that swimming at the beach is not an attractive option but would recommend this as a relaxing base to explore the island. A car is a necessity. Finally, it would have been nice for them to supply bottles of water in the room as most places do in the Society Islands.

Nice spot by the sea (where you can't swim 😢), the bungalows are tastefully decorated, the food is delicious... All the ingredients are there for an excellent stay but...
The owner's commercial and relational sense is optional!!!
The rules must be followed to the letter otherwise you will experience unpleasant and childish comments.
The breakfast time is not adapted to excursion times (breakfast at 7:30 a.m. to leave at 7:50 a.m.). As long as the meeting point for the excursion is at the entrance to the path, it takes 10 minutes of walking... with the compliments of the owner who tells you that you had to read the program... an explanation on our arrival would have been the welcome… PLEASE remember that the shuttles do not systematically pick you up at the Green Lodge… we will bring forward the breakfast time so that you can be on time but also take the time to eat in peace…. YOU DON'T DREAM of this commercial sense at the Green Lodge!!!!
After an excursion, a good cold shower awaits you especially when it has rained all day… yes yes you read correctly because no sun no hot water and no pressure because the reserves are empty (restrictions 🤔)… and the little one comment that goes well: be happy with that!!!!
At more than 300 euros per bungalow I think I have the right to hot water!!!!
And to complete the stay, a scooter is offered for a day but we were not allowed to use it because we had never driven a scooter even though we have had the license for decades... in short we had to rent a car that we could use. necessarily rent at 8,000
I could go on like this for a few more lines but it doesn't matter... the main thing: it didn't ruin our vacation... Only go there if the owners are on vacation 🤣 because the staff is Top... A shame

The accommodation itself was very nice. The bed was comfy, the aircon was great, and the shower overlooking the sea was very nice. The breakfast was very tasty and the lady's who prepared the food and served us were very friendly and looked after us well. The only negative for us was that we could hear other morning alarms which meant that we woke up a bit earlier than we would have liked, otherwise, we would stay here again!
