Detailed Reviews
We decided to go for another Carvery as it was my first Sunday off for a while, and we enjoyed the last visit. We were not disappointed, the meat was cooked right, and so was the veg, roasties etc. We all commented on how good it was, highly recommended and we will be back again. Keep up the good work Plume!!!!

Visited here today, received a great welcome from the friendly efficient barman. A relaxed atmosphere, lovely and clean. There was plenty of choice on the menu without being overwhelming. The food was delicious and the service was great.
There are very good wines available and a great choice of gins.
I highly recommend a visit.

Arrived on a busy Sunday without a booking but we were able to have a table in the bar. We were told it would be about a half wait, which was fine.
Good quality Sunday lunch at reasonable price
Would go back

We booked a hotel room via booking.com on Friday afternoon and received a confirmation e-mail after paying in full. We were contacted 3 days later as the hotel or booking.com were refusing to honour the price of the stay and subsequently cancelled the room with little explanation. Very disappointed on all counts

Last Friday night, 29th March, my wife and I went for evening meal at the Plume. The local village magazine advertised 2 for 1 prices Monday - Saturday until April. When I paid it was full price. so I asked to see the Landlord. He refused to speak to me so I was left with a waitress running between him and me taking messages. When I got home, about 5 minutes by car, I e-mailed getting a reply saying someone would respond ASAP. Two days later I sent a further e-mail, again no response. On the following Tuesday I delivered a letter by hand, still no response ! A week later I am writing to Shropshire Council's Trading Standards Department about misleading advertising. The fact that I have not received any response at all from the Plume is appalling. Given that on the three previous occasions we have had Friday night meals at the Plume the dining room as been practically empty I am more than surprised that customers can be treated with such contempt.

I understand the hotel is under new management. However, this is no excuse for dirt and greasy cafe food.
Having stayed there recently it is way over priced for the quality & service.
Our room was dirty and shabby.
Shower rose was blocked, shower cubicle dirty with mould growing.
Impossible to sleep due to vermin running around and scratching in the roof space.
Waste bin still full from previous occupant.
I didn’t expect silver service however, I didn’t expect to be served breakfast by someone wearing trackie bottoms and a coat!
No choice for breakfast you had to have the full greasy English breakfast regardless whether you liked it all or not, we were told just to leave it - such waste!
Food was cheap but floating in grease, I would rather pay more for quality and better prepared food.
We paid £85 per night B&B, we stayed another two nights at a hotel a few miles further away for £70 B&B which was far superior in every way to plume of feathers.
Needless to say we won’t recommend or stay here again

Re-visited after recent change of ownership and was impressed. The food was excellent and service very good, great improvement on previous visit and would recommend if it continues along these lines. An enjoyable visit.

Excellent! We went for a lunchtime visit as a treat. The food was superb and the service was exceptional; the atmosphere was very warm and most welcoming. Well worth a visit. We will certainly visit again.

At the Plume of Feathers again tonight Since the change of owners, the food & service has become exceptional. From Sharon the front of house to the amazing chef now owning the kitchen, and the food he delivers. It is exceptional. Back again in a couple of weeks, because a Vegan friend was blown away last time she was there, they provided a full menu with 3 starters, 3 main, & 3 deserts, she said she can't get this much choice outside a Vegggi/vegan resteraunt in Birmingham. Great experience thank you all.
