'Te Rawa Lodge' is a luxury lodge offering our guests warm hospitality, in self contained apartments in Wilson's Bay in the Pelorus Sounds, Marlborough. We have a licensed restaurant, great coffee, and 4 gorgeous self-contained apartments. We are as 'off-the-grid' as you will find. There are no roads, and we produce our own electricity using a mix of solar power, wind power and a diesel generator. We still manage to have free unlimited wifi. We can be reached only by boat. The Pelorus Mail Boat stops here (check their website for schedule) so you can take a leisurely ride out on the Mail Boat from Havelock or you can take a private water taxi from Havelock. We are looking forward to welcoming you and helping you make the most of your special ' Marlborough Sounds' holiday.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here for lunch on the pelorus mail boat cruise. We pre-ordered meaning that our lunches were all freshly cooked for our arrival. We all had superb fish and chips with the most amazingly crisp batter - delicious!! Our only wish was that we could have stayed a little longer. Anne was very welcoming and we enjoyed our little chat about Scotland too. Would definitely like to return one day.

Just returned from a birthday break at Te Rawa Lodge - and it was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Kingfisher suite on the first floor and the views were all you could have wanted or imagined. The hosts Anne and Rob are very enthusiastic people and the results are stunning. Te Wara Lodge makes your eyes sparkle and your heart sing. Bravo Anne and Rob!

Just spent three beautiful days at this incredibly peaceful place for my birthday. Anne and Rob served up really quality food (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for my birthday breakfast). We strongly recommend this resort to chill out and recharge the batteries.

Thanks Anne and Rob,

From Julie & Pete

What an awesome place and hosts Rob and Anne. We had a beautiful lunch with yummy fresh mussels and the kids had macaroni cheese which they all scored a 10 out of 10, was hubby's birthday and Anne surprised us with a small birthday cake so lovely. Best place and will be back to stay one day. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

My Husband and I had an amazing stay at Te Rawa Lodge. The hosts were great and caught fish fresh for us. It was so relaxing and such a beautiful spot. The only advice I have is to research your best options for transportation. We took Havelock Water Taxis which was extremely expensive as we were not able to obtain a quote because of confusing communication and lack of procedure. If we had known how expensive it was we would have waited to catch the mail boat on a different day. Other than that disappointing experience the Lodge its self was sensational.

Nathan an d Penny are just amazing. They hosted our son and a bunch of mates over 4 days (3 nights) and nothing was a problem. The food was just amazing, the service was great and I can say that everyone left 100% satisfied with their experience. Highly recommended.

We have been and stayed at Te Rawa numerous times the first being 23 years ago. I highly recommend Te Rawa as a place to unwind and relax from the stress of day to day life. Amazing hosts that only add to the enjoyment of your holiday. Amazing food best Pork Belly I have had and then the corned beef sandwiches for lunch. There are kayaks, a dinghy, views and walking tracks. Kiwis get to this place and enjoy what is in our back yard

My partner and myself spent a week in the sounds. We stayed 3 nights and come in by personal boat. Rob and his workers were super helpful tying the boat off and taking our stuff to our room. Rob and Anne were awesome hosts and were easy to talk too.

Just home from birthday week at Te Rawa. Great place to book out with group of friends. Nathan and Kane really made us welcome and catered well for all our needs and requests. We are looking forward to going out there and meeting them again.
The ability to do self catering was very useful.
