Nestled in a lush valley, at an altitude of 1140 metres, between the green mountains of Tuscany and Romagna, Relais Sant'Alberico is an ancient Camaldolese monastery dating back to the year 976 that has been carefully restored and now houses a small, refined Relais. On the slopes of Monte Fumaiolo, where the Tiber river that reaches Rome, the eternal city, has its source, the Sant'Alberico Monastery is a place of peace and serenity, immersed in nature and surrounded by the centuries-old forests of our Natural Park that extends over 400 hectares and embraces the surrounding mountains. The ancient walls surrounding the Monastery enclose an evocative place: a spring of mineral water flows naturally beside the Relais, the rustle of the wind through the trees, the calls of birds in the distance. The Relais Sant'Alberico offers relaxing stays to those who love Nature and enjoy walks or e-bike excursions among wild flowers, fragrant essences, and those who love to admire views and natural glimpses. The hotel offers attentive hospitality and a friendly, informal atmosphere, refined rooms that combine the charm of old walls, local wood and stone with modern comforts in a pleasant mix that instils relaxation and tranquillity. The gourmet restaurant Sant'Alberico and the Monastero Wine Bar offer delicious moments of taste: from breakfast in the morning, which we also serve in the garden in summer, to the exquisite dishes created by chef Cristian Riccio at lunch and dinner. The gourmet restaurant Sant'Alberico and the Monastero Wine Bar offer delicious moments of taste: from breakfast in the morning, which we also serve in the garden in summer, to the exquisite dishes created by chef Cristian Riccio at lunch and dinner. The restaurant's menu offers dishes prepared with local ingredients and foods, including the fruits of our small organic garden: each menu offers delicious experiences and is rich in the jewels of the local undergrowth, such as mushrooms, truffles, berries and herbs. The Monastery's pride and joy are barman Cristiano's cocktails, to be savoured in the tranquillity of the park or beside one of the many fireplaces in the indoor dining rooms. We invite you to discover the Relais Sant'Alberico with a stay combining relaxation, taste and well-being.

We stayed in April at Relais two nights, on two different days. The first time we even had dinner. Location, rooms and breakfast really great, nice idea to be able to independently fill the glass bottle found in the room from the taps, scattered throughout, all with excellent spring water. Thinking about the location of the hotel I find incredible the excellent functioning of the wifi network that we found. The dinner was great although with prices a bit high, although I must admit, in line with the rest. Very friendly and efficient staff. We will definitely return.

Dream holiday
Recommendation to everyone to stay in this beautiful place. The place is spectacular, surrounded by mountains, trees and meadows. the hotel is beautiful, as cleanliness, as professionalism and kindness of the staff, as excellent food. The breakfast is great, with fresh produce, varied (but contained to avoid waste) and with extras that can be ordered on the spot. You can enjoy nature with all the comforts and conveniences you could wish for. The rooms are beautiful, well finished, modern but inserted in an ancient context such as the monastery. The Spa (for a fee) is small but well stocked and never too crowded (the staff is very careful that there is no overcrowding inside). Around you can go hiking on the trails of these beautiful mountains, and visit many places, even using the car. In short, a regenerating, luxurious, but affordable holiday. Thanks to all the staff for the welcome.

We refer to the restaurant frequented on Saturday 20 January 2024 for lunch;
Considerations on the 2 hours spent in the structure;
1)....it is indisputable that the renovation of great taste and charm is beautiful
2)...the restaurant room on the second floor is beautiful with wooden beams and windows that allow you to admire the nature around the Relais and a beautiful fireplace;
3) the table we chose was beautiful... the midday menu was a little shorter but wide enough to have a good choice;
4) for us 2 first courses and 2 second courses nothing to shout out wow but good;
.. perhaps the quantity of buttons could have been 20g more;
5) amouse bouche not received... considering the €5 cover charge we expect a "greeting from the kitchen";
6) bread, butter and oil still accompanied us pleasantly when the first courses arrived
7) service not as attentive as the Location deserves in our opinion;
8) Wine list (rated 7- -) but you can find something pleasant; for us a Sforzato 2014: good!...certainly not wide enough to intercept wine enthusiasts;
9) Dessert for what we chose, rating 5!!... it looked good but in terms of taste it was insufficient;
clearly we pointed this out to the service staff and even at the cash register!!!
10)...for 2 of us ☕️ and small pastries not received;
Even a simple 🍪 was enough... let's always take into account that the cover charge amounts to €5 each and the dishes are not cheap, we are at the level of a star-studded restaurant;
For 2 courses each, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine €175; ...expectations obviously increase with these figures;
Enough with the criticisms...the place is beautiful and we ate well too;
....it would take very little to raise the bar and make it a popular destination for Gourmet enthusiasts;
Don't worry about criticism!!!!

Attracted by so much advertising and an intriguing website, I decided to book Easter lunch with my family.
As soon as we arrived we decided to have an aperitif before lunch and the prosecco that was brought to me was completely out of gas, certainly opened for some time or worse still left without a cap.
Sitting at the table, the situation unfortunately worsened... slightly dirty wine glass, bread and above all little foot which to define as cold is an understatement, probably just taken out of the fridge. The dishes followed one another perpetually not very hot and with a disarming slowness.
The feeling of a kitchen not used to serving a higher number of guests than usual and above all, many out of place details, such as the dessert served with a coffee spoon, which suggests a lot of sufficiency on the part of those who should check that everything goes as planned improve.
It's a shame because the location is very beautiful and the resort has been tastefully renovated... the pretentious prices however certainly cannot be justified for the level of cuisine and service.
For now, in my opinion, not to be recommended.

Dearest Elisa,
I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for your stay at your hotel. Since my arrival, I have seen the high level of professionalism of the staff, always attentive and ready to meet my every need with courtesy and discretion.
The rooms are distinguished by the thorough cleanliness and elegance of the furnishings, able to combine refinement and comfort. Every detail is taken care of with extreme attention, creating a welcoming and at the same time refined environment.
Particularly noteworthy is the food service, which I had the pleasure of experiencing both at breakfast and dinner. The quality of the raw materials, combined with the mastery of the chef, has made every meal a gastronomic experience of the highest level.
The surrounding environment, well maintained and immersed in a natural setting of rare beauty, has further contributed to making your stay a moment of authentic relaxation and well-being.
In conclusion, I am extremely satisfied with your experience at your hotel and will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a place where excellence is the norm. It will be a pleasure for me to return in the future.
With my warmest regards,
Marco

Quel che si dice staccare la spina!
Lovely place surrounded by greenery and absolute silence. All attention to detail, there is nothing out of place. All staff are very courteous and attentive.
Our very nice (superior) room, excellent cleaning, King size bed, overlooking the beautiful garden, pillow choice. Nice idea to find an empty glass bottle that can be filled in the many fountains scattered around the monastery.
The spa is very nice, you can see that it is new, corner with herbal teas, dehydrated fruit and homemade cookies TOP, if I have to make a note should be made a little more '"dark" is very bright, in my opinion a little too much.
Very characteristic breakfast room with exposed beams and stone walls, a lot of choice between sweet and savory.
The only small disappointment was the restaurant, they have very high prices and doing a quality / price ratio I would have expected a little more 'especially in the first / desserts.
Excellent wifi service that covers the whole hotel and also the whole garden also because telephone coverage is almost non-existent.
Absolutely to go back to take a break from everyday stress!

Upon arrival it seems like entering a painting... the road and the view of the Monastery are the antechamber of an enchanting experience.
The relais is completely renovated with great style and charm and immersed in a fairy-tale setting.
The service and lunch prepared by the chef are at the highest levels of the hotel industry.
The kind Sabrina and all the staff know how to welcome you with professionalism, transmitting the narrative of the location and the territory.

+1
The structure is wonderful, stone walls, furniture attention to detail, very nice rooms with many wooden elements, exposed beams, huge and comfortable bed. Spacious and well-kept outdoor garden with sun loungers, deck chairs and umbrellas to enjoy relaxation and nature. Very nice SPA (only visited but not tried).
A note on WiFi (necessary because there is no field). In the room it only worked inside the bathroom, neither from the bed, nor from the sitting room. To be connected you have to stay inside the bathroom, bee to exit disconnects.
The only drawback of the fantastic structure the restaurant. Very elegant and cared for the room but not the dishes. The cheese appetizer is served with various types of cheeses piled on the plate, without an orderly arrangement that allows you to figure out which to start with and how to proceed, the types of cheeses are not even explained. Ditto for the cold cuts starter. €27 of cold cuts without having the slightest idea what you are tasting. Monfettini with stidoli in the average but in the plate I found two pieces of raw pasta the size of a coin. I understand that it is handmade pasta but I think that with the naked eye you could see when throwing the pasta! Very hard castrato served in pieces with flavorless spinach, randomly served. Totally misaligned with the rest of the structure.
There are some hiking trails around the property. I asked for some directions but the information I was given was brief, unclear and hasty. Not having signal instead it would be appropriate to have info on the trails, maybe even a map with the characteristics.

an enchanted place, equipped with all comforts and with a staff that satisfies every aspect of a holiday dedicated to relaxation and well-being. you detoxify from the use of mobile phones and electronics and return to "see" "hear" "observe" and "taste", all at a slow pace, without disturbing noises, only with the magnificent "noise" of the secular firs moved by the wind. Unique welcome, rooms devoted to comfort and relaxation (sometimes I wished it rained to stay warm on the comfortable bed or with the fireplace on!). Well-kept common areas, relaxing and welcoming; excellent restaurant, maitre d' high professionalism, local cuisine but sublimated by the exquisite imagination of the chef and the choice of excellent raw materials and I think all at km 0. The attention and efficiency of the waiting staff, the reception and the ubiquitous maintainer (how can it always be there where it is needed???) are the added value that makes staying at this ancient monastery a 'unique experience, but to be repeated again and again ..
Very nice wellness area, well maintained and never crowded.
Bravo, bravo, Bravo!! see you soon...

We stayed using a package that included overnight stay, dinner, spa and breakfast. Good value for money; the location is very suggestive, both for the structure and for the surrounding landscape; there is a lot of attention to environmental sustainability, but also some flaws: the wellness center is small and limited; The waits in the restaurant were quite long and, alas, there was no vegetable buffet! Personally, it's the first time this has happened to me, especially in a 4 star hotel. Overall, an experience worth repeating, because all in all we had a good time, but we had higher expectations.
