Had a room on the 3rd floor, overlooking the mountain view, literally could touch it. No sun hit the balcony, which in a way was nice and cool as it was 38C outside. Room was spacious with a free to use safe, large bathroom and lovely air con. Friends had the seaview with hot tub room and the views were amazing
The hotel was very clean, staff were lovely.
Beach towel man seemed to disappear every time we went for towels.
The beach was accessed via a lift and was clean, bar staff were friendly. The beach itself was a bit of sand and the sea had large rocks in so take beach/swim shoes with you

Fantastic hotel that with a few minor tweaks would be perfect!
The rooms are spacious and very clean with large balconies that have wonderful views of the sea, mountains and Agios Nikolaos in the distance.
The swimming pools (saltwater) are cleaned daily and there are plenty of sun loungers to choose from. Towels are provided daily from reception without the need for a deposit (same with the safety deposit box and iron which was refreshing).
The beach whilst small is set in a lovely cove and has water sports on offer plus a beach bar that all inclusive guests can access.
Food is excellent and amongst the best we’ve had for an all inclusive - you also get a set number of visits to the a la carte restaurants that you have to book in advance and again the food was superb.
Staff are all very friendly and hard working, entertainment was limited but good and the kids mini disco held in a separate outdoor theatre was great fun. This was run by the ladies who did the aqua aerobics amongst other activities and they were very friendly.
Agios Nikolaos is a 10 euro/10 min taxi ride away and reception will happily organise this for you. The town is lovely and clean, lots of nice shops, bars and restaurants and has a good feel to it.
Now for the couple of detractors that without would make all the difference.
When there is no formal entertainment on an evening, the music played in both the pool bar and also the more formal main bar in the 3rd floor is chronic!
Why they think repetitive instrumental techno is the right choice I have no idea - it’s good fun at times in the day time around the pool but really needs to be changed up for something a little more relaxing and romantic in a night time.
The other thing was the noise outside the room from very early in the morning from the cleaning team. They are clearly a very hard working bunch but echoing conversations from 6am isn’t ideal.

This is one the most amazing places I have ever been all over the world . The food was amazing (we had the all inclusive package) Cretan organic food that you cannot get enough of .

The rooms super clean and with amazing view of the beach, sea and Cretan mountains.

The pool with sea water was very refreshing and the private beach in front of the hotel very clean and organized

We had the time of our life with friends and created memories we will never forget

We arrived at the hotel quite late and were warmly greeted by the reception staff. Food was freshly prepared in the buffet restaurant.

In addition to the buffet there are 3 other restaurants which have to be booked - grill house for lunch with stunning views, Italian and Mediterranean restaurant on the 5th floor with breathtaking views of the clear blue sea.

The rooms were very clean and big. The cleaning took place 7 days a week.

The animation team were fantastic - due to Covid they were somewhat restricted but every day the Team Leader Marianne ran different classes like stretches, pilates, dance workout, aqua aerobics, aqua zumba etc. She always greeted us with a big smile and ran these classes with great enthusiasm. In the evenings a number of activities took place and Marianne with her colleague Maria always put on something special even with the restrictions.

The restaurant manager was very friendly and there was a huge selection of food every day with a lovely salad and dessert bar.

The hotel had a lovely private beach which was never crowded and there was beach bar available although this only had a limited number of drinks available for all inclusive but drinks could be paid for. There were comfortable sun loungers for guests, provided free of charge.

The only criticism I would have about this hotel is that they charged to use the spa facilities such as the pool, sauna etc which I found odd. Normally these facilities are free and only treatments need to be paid for.

But all in all a great experience and we would definitely return.

This was our first time to Crete and a few reviews in here made me a little apprehensive but absolutely no reason to doubt this fantastic hotel.
We arrived late due to issues at Gatwick, we had water in our room and wraps in the fridge to eat.
The rooms were clean and tidy.
Beds were very comfortable.
Bathroom had towels to use in the room and by the pool/beach. These were changed frequently. Essentials in the bathroom and a hairdryer.
Water added to the fridge daily. Air conditioning was lovely in the room too. Beautiful sea views.
The pool sunbeds were new and comfortable and nicely placed around the pool with umbrellas.
The pool bar had two brilliant ladies serving and always happy to help and smiling.
The toilets by the pool aren't the best but thats to be partly expected with wet swimmers using them frequently. They were cleaned and checked regularly.
The crepe shop has the most fantastic person in the hotel working in there. She's lovely. And the pancakes and waffles are a must!
The access to the beach is brilliant, allowing you to avoid the road.
My family did two activities on the beach, jet ski and boat ride. Both were thoroughly enjoyed.
I could not find anything wrong with our holiday here.
We went before the half term for 10days and wished we could have stayed longer. It was very quiet on arrival but our last 3 days we noticed the increase in people.
The food in all 3 restaurants were lovely.
The main restaurant does get busy in peak times but there's always food available.
The bar staff on the 3rd floor are brilliant characters.

My only criticism is that the sports court should be available for teenagers to have a kick about with a football or basketballas there's a hoop. You can pay to hire the bats and balls to use it but its very costly which put us off. Also the only pool table is in the children's games room that cost 2 euros a game.

We all had the most amazing holiday.
Thank you to all the hard working staff at the blue marine hotel and spa

Not 5 star maybe a low 4 at a push. The location and view are superb there isn’t anything around but bus stop outside the hotel likewise taxi is 10 euro to the centre.
All inclusive you maybe better off with a B&B option at a different hotel as the food and drink in the centre is superb and very reasonable. The food here the buffet is only warm and don’t think I ever had a hot meal apart from when I cooked toast. Variety is much of the same. A la carte places are good but again the only hot meal was at the lunch venue which was superb. Now drink they must do something to it as they serve large measures but you don’t get tipsy. Cola light is awful. Beer is not a proper beer so into the town and taste a proper one. Hotel caters for more the other nationalities I found English tourists at this hotel were very few.
We paid extra for a double room and sea view and had to ask twice as to why we had twin beds eventually they made the bed to a double on the second day but left the existing duvets on a chair in our room hmmm.
Pillows you only get one each we asked for two each asked twice but only ever got 1 gave up in the end.
Wouldn’t return to this hotel but the place yes. We paid a lot of money and personally not sure it was worth it but seeing no holidays due to Covid we did enjoy our rest.

I have just stayed here for a week and when I arrived you're dropped off at the road and have a lift to reception, The receptionist was very helpful and efficient in her job I went to my room and I w.as pleased with the room a good size and clean .I had booked a room and had paid a supplement for single occupation ok my room was a twin with a balcony ok the next morning I opened the curtains to find a balcony ok the view was a joke I could touch the rockfall you got very little light in from outside I felt like a caveman. There are various restaurants in the hotel and you can book to go into 2 of them while you stay the main one you have to wear a mask and gloves whilst getting your food I was very disappointed with the food in 7 days I did not get 1 hot meal it was always cold or like warm. The hotel is located 6kms away from the nearest town which is Agios Nikolaos if you fit you can walk in but there are no footpaths you take your life in your own hands you can get a Taxi to take you in at a cost of €10 each way.To say I was disappointed is an understatement I will not book with Easyjet again.

NOT WHAT IT SEEMS

staying here at the moment, we are a group of three, we are not drinkers and only expect soft drinks, be aware soft drinks are not branded, if you want a cold glass of coke be prepared for a cheap cola alternative, they taste nasty, you are only allowed one bottle of water in your room a day otherwise you are told to drink the water from the bar tapes, today mine was full of bleach or chlorine, the bar staff had to then stop the tape to try and work out why, this resulted in us not only having to buy fizzy on our all inclusive but now water, this should be provided at no cost. The food is not great and runs out fast, if you want dessert, you need to be fast, the hotel is in the middle of no where and to get to the local town is 12 euros each way. If you are happy paying for a five star price for a three star hotel then go ahead and stay here

We stayed the last week of September. This hotel is definitely not 5*. We had a superior sea view room which was fine although the wet room shower had a leak where the hose joined the shower head and that sprayed backwards which made everywhere even wetter. Food was not to our taste and choice was not very large and if you arrived around 9pm not a lot left, which we did on one occasion. We were not offered either water or wine on any of the evenings we went to the Blue Aegean buffet restaurant. We didn't try the other bookable restaurants so cannot give a review, although we looked at the menu for Ya Mas Grill and it was very limited so did not bother. Drinks were OK, Beefeater gin and I think Havana Club were only brands I recognised. All inclusive finishes at 11pm but the Main bar stays open until 1pm so drinks must be purchased after 11pm, this bar only ever usually had 2 members of staff serving. We noticed that the bar generally emptied out after all inclusive finished. The pool bar also had queues as there only ever seemed to be 2 staff members serving although on our last day there was 4, this bar stays open until 11pm. Beach bar also had queues but must give recognition to both Clio in the pool bar and Ana in the beach bar who are both wonderful members of staff and work very hard every day and always seem to be around. Cleaning of the room on the whole was ok but had no shower mat one day and no tea bags. We found most of the staff to be ok but there is not a lot of interaction with the guests. One day there seemed to be a lot of managers in the restaurant and we were shown to our table on that evening. The entertainment needs to be improved, the DJ set on one evening was fairly good with a range of different music and on the Sunday lunchtime in the beach bar also. There were singers 2 nights in the main bar who were good. Sun loungers comfortable with thick mattresses both at the pool and on the beach. I think with management improvement and listening to guests views this hotel could be vastly improved. Guests are a captive audience as the hotel is about 1 hour's walk from Agios Nikolaos so hiring a car may be an option. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel which will take you to Agios Nikolaos and Heraklion. We did a trip to Spinalonga from Elounda and then spent the rest of the day in Elounda which I preferred and wished I had chosen to stay there as it is a nice little resort and people very friendly. I would not return to that area of Crete or that hotel, also I didn't like Heraklion airport, maybe I will try the other side of Crete, Chania.

We had a lovely time in this hotel. The staff are hard working, accommodating and kind. In particular, the entertainment provided for adults and the kids was a real treat which brought much joy to the kids and moments of peace to us. The hotel is a 1 hour drive from the airport and is located in a beautiful spot, 10-15mins away from the nearest town, Agios Nikolaos. Most rooms enjoy a spectacular view of the sea and the atmosphere and surrounding are just idyllic. The hotel could do with a bit of a freshen up as some areas are starting to look tired, the bathrooms for example. The food at the breakfast buffet was ok, a little too much variety without the quality. Top marks to the chef preparing fresh eggs and omelettes! Overall this is a great place to have fun, get a great tan and relax. The wifi was very good too, perhaps not for streaming video but good connectivity throughout the building.

Are Beach/pool towels available here? If so how often can you change them? Regards
Answer from George A.
Dear Mrs Louise, Yes, we do provide beach/pool towels for our guests. You can exchange them as often as needed. If you have any other questions or need assistance during your stay, please don't hesitate to ask. We're here to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Regards,
Answer from George A.
Dear Guest, I would like to highlight that our hotel's design incorporates a modern architectural concept where the toilet facilities are situated in a separate room from the shower area. This layout offers enhanced privacy and convenience for our guests. Additionally, we've innovatively placed the washbasin within the bedroom itself, providing a unique and efficient use of space while maintaining functionality and aesthetic appeal. We believe this design reflects our commitment to offering a comfortable and contemporary experience for all our guests. Our hairdryers are carefully selected to ensure they meet the standards.
