As the story goes, the mythical Lamarck University or Lam U was named after the French scientist Jean Baptiste Lamarck and was devoted to the study of all things natural until it was closed in 1975. Fortunately, Lam U has been resurrected to her former glory by the vigorous entrepreneurs of Vietnam's Sun Group and the starchitech, Bill Bensley in the form of JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay. This hotel in Phu Quoc, Vietnam is unlike any other hotel or resort in Vietnam. It features 5-star luxury, a quirky style and an unparalleled location on the pristine beaches of Phu Quoc.

Incredible staff. Everyone was very friendly. Had a pool front room that had a wonderful little patio. Got upgraded to a villa as a Gold, which was extremely nice with a private pool. The place is pretty spread out, but there are carts all the...More
The only thing more impressive than the accommodation was the attentive staff, who were always genuinely happy to help. We stayed in the Emerald Bay View Room which had its own porch - perfect for drinking tea and listening to the sea breeze while watching...More

First and foremost, this place is AMAZING in terms of the rooms and private beach. I actually wanted to give it 3 stars but I decided 4 star was better. I will break down my ranking as much as possible. YOU GET WHAT YOU SPEND...More

Thanks Shane! I contacted Marriott few days ago, but they can't do anything since the travel package points changed after they combined with SPG. They mentioned I should contact Hotel directly to see if there is any way they can do in local. However, I can't find the customer email in this location...:( Anyway, have a fun trip and see you there!! :)

I’m at the airport having just spent 3 nights at this property. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else! I’ve written my review so it will be published in 24 hours. But basically the whole place is over priced and under delivered. The kids club was in a temporary home as it had been flooded. It closes at 7pm. Despite that my children were bored there as there wasn’t much to do. And the scheduled children’s activities don’t take place unless you insist.
The pool access room is fine but as you’re on the wrong side of the island you get a sunrise view not a sunset view.
