Beautiful experience. It’s quiet, exclusive, plainly luxurious with excellent service. The location and view is superb to wake up to every morning and enjoy a scrumptious breakfast on your own private balcony. The staff ever so friendly and willing to make your stay memorable. Thank extra surprise every morning with your breakfast makes that difference and shows that personal touch. The owner, Ellias, is hands on and that also makes a difference ensuring that he is on top of things. He greeted us on most evening to enquire about our daily experiences and made some enlightening suggestions. The beach facilities, knowing that you have a personal umbrella and “cabana” without the anguish of having to rush to get a spot on the beach adds to a peaceful holiday. We had a villa with a Jacuzzi which added some lovely moon lit evenings sipping on a cocktail while admiring the wonderful sea view.
You literally do not come into contact with any of the other guests of the hotel other than from a distance on the beach or parking area. The Covid measures were taken very seriously with everything arriving in the room sterilized and sealed. Staff dressed to take every necessary protective measures.
The only comment I have is that perhaps the bar facilities (room & beach service) should extend to beyond 6pm.
All in all a very well worth it experience. Will definitely visit again.
Well Done.

Room Tip: One of the front sea facing rooms. A jacuzzi or pool would be a plus.

We were looking for a nice place by the sea accessible via road to spend our summer vacations. This place is more than we expected.

The blue (sea), green (grass and plants) and white (residences) colours in conjunction with the nature's sounds (no roads or other residences nearby) create a relaxing mood. After just two days we felt as if we were here for a week.

The residences are detached from one another for extra privacy. You get a decent patio to relax and eat, a small private garden and an excellent sea view.

The beach is well organised, too. Each residence has its own small cabin (with the residence number on it) plus two additional sunbeds under an umbrella closer to the beachfront.

Breakfast is what you expect from hotels of this class. There's a restaurant for drinks and food up until 6pm. After that, in case one wants to eat at the residence, there are some tavernas which deliver food (try the taverna KAVOS: excellent food, really fresh fish).

As for the anti-COVID measures, the stuff is really careful, following every protocol. Everything (e. g. dishes, cutlery, tv and a/c controls) is plastic bag wrapped, including towels for the shower and for the sea.

In conclusion, I would suggest this resort for summer holidays. It's worth every cent.

We stayed here for just two nights. The residences and the complex are spotlessly clean. All useable items such as towels are plastic wrapped before use presumably for Covid reasons. For me this is overkill but you cannot fault them for their efforts. The residences are very private, there are even curtains around the patio area to ensure privacy if you wish to do so. The room was modern and well appointed, with “quiet mode” aircon which was great at night. Each room had a personalised beach cabin and beach sunbeds. The hotel staff serve drinks and food there should you require it. My only gripe was certain service issues. On both mornings the breakfast was served between 20 and 30 minutes after my designated time. We did receive an apology for this on the first morning. When settling our bill we were met by a miserable receptionist who took payment with the minimum of conversation, not even a goodbye. A compete contrast to the Greek hospitality we received elsewhere. Don’t let this put you off though, we really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

Response from Ilias Kourounakos, Ιδιοκτήτης at Mareggio Exclusive Residences & Suites
Responded 26 Jun 2022
Many thanks,Jonh77, for your albeit short stay with us. We are glad that you could spend a few days with us at Mareggio Exclusive Residences & Suites and that, overall, you enjoyed your stay and recommend our Hotel. We are also very grateful to you for taking the time to submit a review score and comprehensive review of your stay and for highlighting so many of the positive features of our accommodations. As for your "gripes", we apologise for the fact that your breakfast was served later than you ordered, though we rarely if ever surpass the 15-minute mark (1 residence per 10-minute slot). As for the lack of apology from the server, please note that it is the reception staff that amends the breakfast serving times when necessary. Therefore, the kitchen and serving staff are unaware of any serving time changes and that any apology was necessary. We are saddened by the fact that you deemed the receptionist to be "miserable". Perhaps you mistook her lack of effusiveness (she is a serious and reserved individual) with her being miserable and/ or unfriendly, Most of our guests appreciate the staff's understated tones that harmonise with the quiet surroundings. Covid protocols and our guests' and staff safety required we wrap the bath linens in plastic. With the recent changes in government directives, we have eschewed this practice We do hope that you visit us again and we will endeavor to be more prompt with the breakfast service and to have a cheerier demeanour.

The stay at Mareggio exceeded our expectations, which were high based on the reviews that we read before booking our stay. We were greeted by a friendly staff, and the quality of the staff throughout the stay was exceptional. Some previous posts questioned the service however after years staying at many different properties in many different places this was one of the best service experiences. Angela, Dimitra, and Elias were all amazing.
The location is secluded and there is only 12 rooms or so at the hotel. Each room has private outdoor areas which are nice to relax. The room was incredibly clean. There was a front patio and a backyard.
The beach was very private and the guests were able to space out in their own areas so it felt like a private beach. There are some small rocks on the beach however you can walk across them or if this is not something you like you can bring water shoes.
Breakfast is served every morning in your room. There is also coffee and tea available in the room whenever you like.
The fresh orange juice and filtered coffee were a great start to the day. We had salads for lunch and then went out to restaurants in the area at night. Kyra Matuola, 15 minutes away was a great traditional tavern, if you want to go past Gytheio.
If you are staying here it is good to have a car or be willing to use a taxi since restaurants at night are not within walking distance.
Overall it was amazing. Highly recommended.

We spent 10 days on this amazing resort and we will definitely visit again soon! Although all Covid-19 restrictions - and I must note that all protocols were kept by the hotel management and staff in full detail - the place felt so comfortable and fun to stay in!
All rooms have a large porch, where delicious a la carte breakfast is served every morning, full sea view and share a rather large manicured garden. One can access the sandy beach directly, where 2 sets of sunbeds and shades/unbrellas are available for every suite. Crystal clear waters and a beautiful view to Gythion and the surrounding area.
Spacious rooms, very well equipped and cleanness on top level!
Hotel management and staff are very friendly and very helpful. They are so focused on making sure that all guests receive the service they deserve! Room service, food and drinks on the beach, fresh beach towels, booking a table in one of the areas restaurants ...you name it!
It was a perfect stay!

We spent 7 wonderful days at the resort. We had an excellent time. The Honeymoon suite was very spacious with a lovely garden in front and three terraces. Exceptional effort was put in order to comply and secure the highest level of cleanliness. The beach was very clean and very quiet. We very much appreciated the sunbeds that were reserved for each room (additional safety). And last but not least the service was very good and attentive.

I would definitely come back and highly recommend to friends.

This is our second stay at the residences. We choose Mareggio for our family vacations because it feels as if you go to your own house by the sea. The residences are separated from each other. Each one has its own umbrella by the sea, so there is no confusion as to who sits where. The beach is right in front of the residences so you can be all day long with your bathing suit and stay on the beach from early in the morning till late at night. Breakfast is served at the residences and one can order snacks up until five o' clock in the evening. Snacks can be consumed either by the sea or in one's room. For dinner there is the possibility to order from restaurants which offer delivery service located in Gytheio. The rooms are clean and tidy, and are kept so daily. One does not need to bring their own beach towels as these are provided by the residences.

Overall, I find it a great place to stay if one is looking forward to a relaxing time.

I have stayed here now for the second time. To make it short: Couldn’t be better. The place is very well located to the town of Gytheio, which has a lively promenade with cafes, shops, bars, tavernas and restaurants. Within on hour drive you’d find a lot of other things to do some cultural, touristic or other stuff.

The hotel itself is a private 12 room place consisting of separate buildings giving a lot of privacy and social distance. Everything is made to quality and very high standards. Everything is maintained very well and kept in pristine condition. Owner constantly invests in further upgrades. Very friendly staff and owner. The hotel Tightly follows the COVID procedures, you feel perfectly safe. This applies Btw for the entire country, Greece managed the pandemic very well.

I can truly recommend Mareggio, not only during this crazy times.

We have enjoyed our 5 nights there very much and were sorry to leave.
Quiet, peaceful place, from our suite we had a direct view to the beach and sea, which was only a few metres away. Modern and clean bathroom with rain shower, fresh towels and pool towels every day, Quiet aircondition, which was very pleasant.
A big and comfortable veranda, where breakfast was served every day, after we ordered it the day before. Especially we enjoyed the cabanas, umbrella and sunbeds on the beach which were reserved for every room, no stress to occupy the sunbeds.Empty and quiet beach. Very friendly staff with a nice welcome and fare-well.
You have to know that there is no tavern or restaurant close to it - so you need a car but it's only a 10 minute drive to the centre of the town. You can order small dishes until 5.00 p.m. or you can use some delivery services.

We occupied rooms 203 which was very clean, well positioned overlooking the sea and lawn.
Also we had room 209. Which had a super verandah where we had super good breakfast served for all four of us. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We played lots of biripi (a lovely Greek card game) we had shade and protection from the wind. And a lovely view partly of the sea and great garden. The owner Ilias recommended the Glyfada beach fish restaurant, which we loved. All in all a very good getaway!
The sea and beach superb. We saw a freshly made carretta nest on the beach this morning. It is sublime to spend time here!
