We stayed a night at the 2-star Hotel de l’Oise because it is close to the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from which we were leaving the next day, and because its restaurant is highly recommended on TA.

Our room was a couple of floors up some steep stairs from the restaurant. The decor of the fairly small room was what I'd call "quaint" in pink. We could hear people in the adjacent stairwell, and I heard staff arriving around 6:30 a.m. the next morning.

Having said that, the bed was comfortable (although the pillows were just OK) and we slept well. The shower had perhaps the best water pressure we'd encountered during our two weeks in France. And there were actual bars of soap and bottles of shampoo, instead of the body wash dispenser, etc. that is the current fashion.

We stopped here on our overnight stop down south. Arrived at 5:30’in the evening and had a very warm welcome from the host. She gave us our keys (family of four sharing two adjoining rooms) and we climbed up the stairs to drop off our bags and shower etc ahead of going out to eat.

The rooms were small but very clean and tidy. The bathroom was well appointed and everything was very well done.

Was excellent to have the adjoining room as 14year olds really don’t want to spend any additional time with their parents!

We were very comfortable that night. The beds are so comfy. Room was warm as there is no air con but there was an efficient fan.

Breakfast the following day was absolutely delicious! Cold meat and cheeses, yoghurts bread pudding (which was to die for), bread and pastries, fresh juices and wonderful coffee. We were well placed for our onward journey and will def stay again!

Our room was small, but well equipped with adequate storage space, a comfortable bed and an excellent shower. The breakfast provided was good (although they could not provide my husband with gluten free bread), but with cold meat and cheese as well as well as delicious marzipan bread and good bread and croissants. Our hostess was very helpful.

We enjoyed two good evening meals at the auberge.

First and foremost is the fantastic effort made by the couple who run the hotel ; nothing is too much trouble for them.
The hotel itself is in a very pretty location opposite the river.
Both my visits have been under difficult personal problems but just for a short time my problems disappeared during both stays at this superb hotel.
As for the the restaurant - the best meals I have eaten for five years.
And very fairly priced.
I might regret writing this review because I fully intend to return very soon !

This hotel is a gem! My husband and I and another couple stayed here March 22-24, 2012. The hotel is spotless, modestly priced, and right on the river. The DeWales, owners and proprietors, couldn't have been more accommodating. We had everything we needed. We parked our car in their enclosed parking lot, which is another plus. Our goal was to see Chantilly, where my great-grandfather is buried, and this hotel is just minutes away from that beautiful town, provided one has a car. Do not miss having dinner in the hotel’s restaurant. Wonderful food, good service, and a picturesque location. Breakfast is varied and delicious as well. The village of Saint-Leu-d"Esserent is charming and the local people were most helpful.

This was my second time in the Hotel de l'Oise. I recently moved in the Chantilly area and had to stay a few nights at the hotel while awaiting my furniture to arrive. Again, my room was clean, comfortable, and with a nice and relaxing view over the Oise river. The owners and staff are very friendly and efficient. I also had the oportunity to try the restaurant several times: very good french regional cuisine in huge portions, swift and polite service, warm and noisy atmosphere (this restaurant is very popular and packed with customers but the staff always manages to bring your order on time and with a smile). Once I arrived at the restaurant late at night (9:00 pm) but was still accepted, which is very unusual in France and was a good surprise. Abundant and tasty breakfast buffet with fresh baguette and home-made jams. This is indeed, and by far, the best place in the area for value.

The hotel is in a small town/large village about 10 minutes drive from Chantilly.
I booked online a week before for a Saturday night and requested a room with a bathtub which I got. My room was clean, modern and light on the 3rd floor overlooking the river (free wifi too).
Be warned if you have mobility problems or heavy bags - there's no lift.

The owner/manager was warm, welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked for that night but she gave me a great recommendation in Chantilly (L'Essentiel, not far from the railway station).
Generous continental breakfast next morning with fresh ingredients and plenty of variety.

I didn't park in the secure parking lot but there was plenty of street parking including the nearby square.
I'd definitely stay here again but would book earlier next time and probably make a dinner reservation at the same time.

On arrival on Saturday afternoon restaurant was closed but after a quick call to the owner he was there quickly to help us to our rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had two interconnecting rooms to make it into a 4/5 person family room which suited us perfectly. Rooms are clean and fairly spacious with TV (no tea and coffee making facilities). Owner spoke good English and made us feel very welcome. Parking was in a secure area to the rear of the hotel which as I was there for a triathlon (with biikes on the car) in Chantilly was very helpful. Breakfast was modest but good and restauarant food on the Saturday night was very nice in a good atmosphere (note restaurant is closed Sunday night). 10 mins drive to Chantilly and 20 mins to Parc Asterix (recommended) - I think it was a two/three star rated hotel and as long as you go knowing this you will not be dissapointed

We had a small room on the third floor which was reached by a rather steep winding staircase so might be unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems or large luggage. The room itself was small, clean and had a small but perfectly adequate bathroom. It looked over the River Oise which has mainly commercial traffic but has trees and large green spaces on both sides, not an industrial outlook. There is a road outside but it was fairly quiet. The town of Saint Leu d'Esserent has a large church (a former monastery) and some pleasant gardens which can be reached easily from the hotel. The Chateau of Chantilly is nearby.

The restaurant was excellent and busy. It serves traditional dishes at a reasonable cost with good service. The breakfast buffet was small, but had all the ingredients of a continental breakfast.

An excellent low cost restaurant with rooms.

I had to spend a night in the Chantilly region for business reasons and, as most hotels in the area are very expensive or get bad/mixed reviews, I decided to try this small family-run hotel in the quiet village of Saint Leu d'Esserent that had no review at all on Tripadvisor.
I wasn't disappointed. Of course, this is a 2-star hotel, so do not expect any luxury or special treats. This is an old building too, so sound isolation is not very good, although both the area and the other customers were very quiet on that night so that wasn't a problem at all. The owners are friendly and efficient, and the recently refurbished rooms are clean, well heated and most of them have a very nice view over the Oise river. There is free wifi in every room, which is a must for a hotel of this category, and the buffet breakfast was excellent with home made figue jam and fresh breads.
The hotel is easy to find, on a pier just across the bridge coming from Chantilly, and there are lots of parking spaces just in front. Unfortunately, I could not have lunch at the hotel restaurant, as it was incredibly packed with people, some of them even eating at the bar counter and in the lobby, but it is a rather good sign isn't it? Overall, very good value for money. I would probably not spend my life here, but one or two nights are okay.
