We stayed here for 6 days, as we were attending a wedding nearby.
We had a great welcome during check in, the key is ready and the whole process took less than 5 minutes. The man who checked us in even asked if we want him to let the restaurant know that we are coming for lunch.
Our room was on the 1st floor, sea view. The thing that surprised us was that between us and the sea view there was a parking. We had a few buses down there, all noise and smoke was evident. We called receptionist asking to change the room. As they were fully booked, with groups of people who travel with these busses, it took time for them to find us another room. Alberto and Milena arranged for our second room, which was on the same wing but at least 2 floors higher.
We would be woken up at 6 am every day, the busses would start to go on waiting for their groups to go on the day’s tour I guess. In the night normally they would come and park like little Tetris game down there, we had at one time 6 buses. One night my husband called the receptionist because late at night a bus was running its engine without any passengers on board. They went and got the driver to turn the engine off so we could sleep.
Definitely time for renovation here.
Aside from that, the staff made up the difference and made our stay memorable. Very kind, friendly and helpful.
Our favorite staff were; Saro, Tarn, Mariana, Orazio and Alberto.

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Sicily with the Travel Department. Lovely hotel in a remote location, but the selection and quality of food served at the evening buffet was poor. You expect something a bit more than what I would call poor school dinners. Restaurant staff were slow to replenish empty platters and in general seemed unable to cope. It was disappointing.
Having said that we enjoyed the week, but the restaurant needs overhauling immediately.

Don’t stay here!!!!......We Stayed here last week for a week half board and it was terrible, the food was disgraceful and the staff were rude and unhelpful. Soiled sheets on the beds in the room we were provided with as it was a 10am checkout definitely not worth the extortionate price it cost - are taking the matter further with travel department.

Stayed at the Santa Tecia recently as part of a tour group booked through the Travel Dept. Yes. when you walk in the view through the reception out to the pool is beautiful but that is about all this Hotel has to offer, The food is dreadful, buffet style for Breakfast and Dinner, but some evenings long queues, trays would be empty, so either you stood waiting for staff to refill or you just waked away, we felt the staff hoped you would do just that. We had three different rooms during our week long stay, Having requested a twin room we were giving a double, so i requested a twin if it was available. The Man on reception made out that this was such a big deal and described this as being a Miracle he would have to perform, his words ! we did get another room, a single bed was placed beside the double but we had lost our balcony, However we were happy enough, that was until the shower leaked out into the hallway and bathroom, I have this on video, We now had towels all over the floor of the entrance hall and bathroom of our room. Dangerous to say the least. So i requested another room. Well you would think i was looking for a refund at the reaction of the same man on reception. His attitude was rude and dismissive. We did eventually get the only decent room of our stay, clean and with a sea view, however by then we could have cared less and could not wait to leave. Also bear in mind this Hotel is very isolated, you can not walk out at night, there is nowhere to go. There is a beautiful grand piano in the foyer of this hotel but it seems to be just an ornament, The only way to get a decent cup of Tea or coffee in morning is to buy it at the bar though there is a barista machine in dining room no staff want the bother, if they do they will still charge you. All the staff we came into contact with were rude and abrupt, with two exceptions, James at the bar was friendly and another young guy who cleared tables, unfortunately i did not get his name. Having worked in a Hotel myself i was amazed and shocked at how this hotel treated their guests, I will be taking my issues up with the Travel Dept. Avoid this hotel.

We stopped here just for lunch on the way to Catania airport having driven into the impressive entrance, grounds and large secure parking area. (suitcases in boot and on back seat.)
The lobby area, infinity pool area and all the seating and sun loungers gave the impression of a good four star hotel.
The lunch completely changed that outlook.
Dining area was outside with smartly covered tables but the staff were quite abrupt and if you were not ready to order the first time they approached there was a very long interval before they bothered to return.
My wife's veal was inedible.
It was over cooked, very dry and sinewy and hard to cut to find any edible meat. Over three quarters of it in an attempt at dissection state, was still on the plate when the waitress eventually came to clear the table. No comment was made, nor any enquiry as to whether the meal was enjoyable.
We then waited a very long time for any further food options to be offered and on going towards the kitchen and asking the waitress about dessert and coffee I was informed that the restaurant was now closed !
We spoke to a couple at the next table who said that the food and service had been bad the whole week they had been there as part of a tour package.
The hotel seems to aim at this market and so once you are in the door there is little option to go elsewhere.
It's such a shame as the structure of the property is great, maybe a little isolated, but from what we saw an improvement in the food and dining staff attitude would turn this into a great hotel.
