We visited Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres during the last week of April 2021. We had previously a great experience during our honeymoon back in 2012 at the Grand Palladium Riviera and thought it would be worth going back to a different location. I’d like to give a special shout out to Fernando and Omar from the pool wet bar, excellent customer service! I’d also like to think Pablo from the Sports Bar for his excellent service and attention. Here are some pros and cons from our trip: Pros... - Beautiful property and well maintained - 24/7 transport cart services, we barely ever waited for a ride around the property - Junior suite is spacious, comfortable and clean - Overall customer service from staff who always went above and beyond to please us Cons... - Long check-in process, took over 1 hour to get checked in once we arrived. After we thought checkin was over, we were approached by a sales guys to talk even more about special services... we were extremely tired from the trip, not to mention I am pregnant and have a toddler. I just wanted a break! - My parents accompanied us for the first time to Cancun and I was very disappointed that in such a big resort they did not have a room available for them until 3pm. Mind you we arrived at 11am. So for most of the day my parents had to wait in the hot weather with their traveling clothes on for a room to be available. The day was over and barely they got to enjoy it. I’ve been to Cancun several times and never had to wait for a room to be available. - Trash cans in the rooms are extremely small and fits nothing - Rooms service incurs a charge of $10 each time! Never had to pay fee before for room service in Cancun! - If you have children who needs a daily milk stock, come prepared to pay the room service fee. No one is able to provide you milk in the markets, nor the restaurants. My husband ordered milk through room service on the first night at about 8:30pm, we were told it would take about 20mins... turns out milk didn’t arrive until 10:30pm after my son had already fallen asleep with an empty stomach and tired of waiting for his milk 😩 And thats because we had to call them again to remind them. This was unacceptable, and hurt even more that we had to pay $10! - Several things were not working when we entered our room: TV, AC, and curtains in the bathroom. Nothing had batteries. I suggest checking that everything works prior to allowing a guest arrival - There is no snack bar around the beach or pool, if you get hungry you have to get all dried up and go to the restaurant - Bar service at the beach is horrendous and they come to you every 1-2hrs, I was so thirty for water and waited 1hr! - Not many restaurants availability and they repeat day after day All in all, we shall not be returning as we have had better experience at the Hyatt resorts in Cancun.

My fiancée chose this resort based on the reviews and family rating from trip advisor. Do not trust the positive reviews. We had issues from the start of our stay. Despite booking a crib for our newborn it took several phone calls and a reception visit to finally get a crib. The jacuzzi tub didn’t work, and again it took several phone calls to get it looked at. Our room was nice looking but had the odor of mildew. Our refrigerator was leaking water and after having maintenance check it out, it was discovered it did not work. Mind you our daughter’s baby formula was in the refrigerator the whole time. The food at this resort was inedible most of the time and disgusting at others. The breakfast and lunch buffets had offerings of stale and barely edible food that lacked seasoning and seemed to be repurposed from days prior. On one occasion, we even found the cheese at the breakfast buffet to be full of mold. The Italian restaurant was the worst meal I have had in my life, and I worked at a detention facility for 15 years. Many of the seafood options looked spoiled and smelled putrid. Due to a lack of options for meals, we were forced to scour through the breakfast and lunch buffets for something that seemed safe to eat ( like a box of cereal or fruit). The staff were very courteous, but I don’t think their service outweighed the negligence by management to ensure the resort was ran properly. Despite several complaints about our issues with our room and the food, management didn’t reach out to us until our last 2 hours at the resort. They asked to speak with us when we checked out. They tried to offer us half off the massage I had got my fiancée for Mother’s Day, in exchange for not writing a negative review. It seems that the issues at this resort are glaring and someone will eventually ge third as a result. If you value your family’s health and your own, please stay elsewhere.

From the time we arrived till we left the hotel, everything was amazing! Hotel staffs were exceptional, they made my birthday vacay extra special. When you stay in this hotel you don’t want to go anywhere else because they have everything. Me and my husband will definitely come back.
