Overall the resort was clean and well maintained, the food selection was excellent, rooms clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Elizabeth at the lobby bar. My only negative was the beach, not clean (lots of sea weed).
Currently at the RIU Dunamr for 1 week, amazing resort. The beach is beautiful, lots of available chairs , however needs more trees or shade, can get very hot quickly. The food is great no complains, lots of variety at the buffet, ate at the Italian and Asian restaurants and all was good as well. Spent most of the early morning at the beach followed by the afternoon by the adult pool called Tequila. Drinks were great at the pool, restaurant and bars. Bar service is available on the beach and by the poolside, don’t forget to tip, these folks work hard. Stayed at the oceanfront suite facing the Tequila bar and well worth the upgrade. The rooms were super clean, modern and very spacious, the balcony was massive. Don’t believe the negative reviews, some people are just never happy. My only suggestion to management would be to offer better food at the sports bars once everything is closed such as hot pizza, chicken wings or even grilled burger none of this stuff that is prepared in advance and reheated in the microwave, just not good. Overall I would recommend this resorts to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation . Note the resort offer free antigen testing however PCR is available at a charge of 2650 Mexican pesos…
We have always been a fan of Rius. The room was fine - clean with easy access. But the grounds and the activities - WOW! The pools, the beach, the water slides, the activities crew, the evening entertainment- just amazing! The food was nice as well. Just be aware that the entire coastline of Cancun is experiencing a seaweed problem.
Overall the property was modern, nice and clean. Extremely disappointed and felt violated however because money was missing from our room and staff did not seem to care. Gave us the run around for about 30 minutes between the front desk person and 2 security guards, until we demanded management. Sara the manager came out and spoke with my husband and asked for 2 days to complete an investigation. On the second day no one contacted us with an update, we had to go look for a manager again. Finally was able to speak with her. She pretty much just said our employees denied any wrongdoing, there’s nothing they can do to accommodate for our money being stolen, it’s our fault that we didn’t utilize the safe so too bad, sorry. She then proceeded to give us an email complaints@riu.com to contact corporate because she as a manager couldn’t do more. I thought the email was a joke because of how generic it was. I could not believe that a proclaimed 4 star resort handled the situation this way. Blame the victim. Didn’t follow through with communication. Failure to rectify the situation. Additionally the food was less than mediocre. The restaurants and buffet alike. Food was bland and repetitive.…
We had a Great Family Vacation for 7 nights and 8 Days in Riu Dunamar.It was amazing place with Beuatiful swimming pools and sea shore.All food was par excellence and we loved the Isla Mujares the most.The staff was very friendly and always willing to help.The intensity with which each person in the staff worked was really great...Always smiling and cheerful.We enjoyed the bars at the pool and the Night theatre entertainment shows.The discotheque was rocking and loved watching the Oilers matches in sports Bar.. Would definitely go back again and highly recommend to all friends.
