Detailed Reviews
Our party of four checked into the La Zenia on Feb 23rd. This was a first-time experience for us. The Receptionist (Carmen) was the essence of good welcome and professional interest in dealing with us. As we were early, our rooms were not ready, but Carmen serviced our every request. First impressions were certainly excellent. Our two twin bedrooms were adjacent on the third floor overlooking the most amazing beach imaginable, with a superb balcony (332/331). Both bedrooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, with a fine bathroom cum toilet, and oodles of wardrobe space. The safe is surprisingly free. The service staff were very friendly and helpful.
The reception area is tastefully attractive with floral arrangements, very comfortable relaxing settees and armchairs. A large public bar incorporating a sizeable dance floor and band stand where there is nightly entertainment and dancing is a feature of the ground floor. Table service by a very friendly staff, with a very affordable tariff was welcome. We availed of a full-board arrangement -it cost an extra €50 PH per week from the half board arrangement that we usually take. Maybe that is a seasonable offer?
Outside, the pool/sun beds/umbrellas are free in the most stunning pool area you could envisage. Sitting on top of a cliff this hotel gives a different dimension to opulence, location, and luxury. Being three times a year travellers for the past 30 years, it would be a difficult task to find a better holiday location than the La Zenia. It was truly superb. It is right up there with the very best of what we have been used to. In fact we were at one with the opinion that it was on top of the preference list.
We brought clothes in anticipation that there would be some cold weather. We were so lucky that the weather was absolutely brilliant for the entire week. We were aware that there were superb indoor facilities available like jacuzzi, hot pool, sauna, etc. There is a cost of €30 (I think) to use all the facilities.
The food in the spacious dining hall was very varied, with some International cuisine. All palettes were satisfied. The staff were terrific. The Lady making the omelettes was such a lovely human being.
The entire holiday will live long in the memory of all of our party.
Would we return?
It was an experience never to be forgotten. It certainly had the WOW FACTOR for us.

A fantastic stay at this hotel, having been back in the UK for 7yrs since residing in this area, it was a pleasure to return and experience this hotel again.
Greeting us at reception with a warm and friendly manner was Noellia and the team. Courteous and helpful given we were not due to check in for another hour, directed us to the restaurant to have lunch then would ring us when the room was ready, which she promply done.
The room was on 6th floor (617) seaview and gave amazing panoramic views. Very clean with bottles of water in the fridge, a free safe to use and daily refreshed toileteries. For us Brits, you even get ITV1 + 2 on the tv if that floats your boat.
The Restaurant... well many years ago i worked locally as a chef and had the pleasure of making aquaintance of Celicio, the Exec Chef at the hotel. He helped me a lot in those days and was wonderful to see him still here, leading a great team turning our excellent cuisine under restaint budgets. Themed evenings and plenty of choice, so the extra 10lb ive put on shows. Also big thank you to Gustavo and Antonio for their kindness on my wife's birthday. A cake and staff singing happy birthday was an amazing touch.
In the bar was Alex who was first class at his job. Kept the place clean and ticking over, even whilst facing the challenges of introducing a new starter fresh with their own challenges. I would say to the hotel, invest in this young man properly, do not lose him which i fear you will. Drinks prices are very reasonable for a hotel and are waitered served to your tables. Entertainment is good, even if only to watch the people dancing, they really do take it serious, turning up in professional dancing shoes etc and i could only applaud them
The hotel itself as you often see on tv programmes (A Place in the Sun) is in a fantastic seafront location where you can npt only venture to local bars and restaurants, but i would suggest going further afield by bus (coach) to Torrevieja or Cartegena. Believe it or not but its luxury travel for Euro 1.20 per person so basically £1.00. Torrevieja is amazing and head for the main square and pop into Valor for Chocolate and Churros. It is also very close to the new shopping centre which is good for a visit, if you do try La Tapa Bar its a great experience.. but go there hungry, youll see whst i mean!!
Although not a part of the hotel, also pop next door for a sundowner at La Mirada, very busy but very encapuslating.
All in all, a fantastic stay, great to meet up with so many familiar faces again, and i promise it will not be 7yrs this time before we return.

I am writing this Trip advisor report as the hotel has not given me their feedback form or email so I may respond.
We spent a week at The Le Zenia Hotel early October 2022 (our second visit) on a full board basis, sea view room, Check in was swift and professional & we were allocated our room at mid-day, a well appointed room on the first floor, all good so far, we suffered two nights in this room and had to request a move following Two nights of the Entertainment immediately beneath our room, It vibrated and we felt the base bang of the Music, totally unacceptable after Midnight, after a visit to reception on day three finally a room on the fourth floor was offered and accepted, No more noise from the evening “Entertainment”- Thank you very welcome.
So far so good, Meals in the restaurant were as to be expected, reasonable, my only complaint is – as with most European Buffets Nothing went together, it was impossible to create a meal of foods that complement each other, so a buffet of all sorts of food stuffs had to suffice. An “Idea” might be to offer a grill Steak service (Charge more for it), the very happy pleasant man grilling fish here could do this service.
I at this stage must point out that every member of the Restaurant staff were First Class, always a warm welcome, efficient service & a nice smile, they all need congratulating.
A stark contrast from the Bar waiting team, Now here we felt like second class citizens, I think we had the wrong Passport, or that is how we felt, Kevin & Susanna were very good polite and attentive, they came to take our order when seated outside swiftly several times, however We were totally IGNORED by Bridzina , Adrian & another mature slim guy with a beard. None of these staff would look at us or engage with us while serving happily Spanish customers, each time we sat outside we waited for around 20 mins while these staff served drinks to others & clearing tables around us- then I had to go inside to order, I also found this ignorance unacceptable.
The furniture outside consisted of Plastic Red & Black “Cheap” furniture that often snapped, quite dangerous, I have pictures of these which snapped when I used them.
If I were to sum up the Hotel I would say. Great Location, some staff are a real credit to Le Zenia Hotel while a few (mentioned above) let the whole experience down, I know the Manager cares, I noticed she inspected most areas of the hotel each day, I saw her inspecting the Restaurant drink Glasses one day complaining that some were cloudy, Obviously a dish washer issue, This level of attention to detail is good, But needs to extend to all staff attitudes.
Question, would we visit again? Probably, solely due to the convenience of the location, would I spend more time and money within the Hotel, I guess Not and will find alternative Bars to spend our hard earned cash in the area

Stayed 4th January to 7th. Full board. Booked with booking.com with special offer including sea view room and we have stayed there numerous times over the last 15 years. On checking in we had to pay extra 72 euro for the sea view which we understood was included in booking.
This special offer was no longer special.
On the morning of departure we had room staff at the door to say we had to be out by 10am. Strange as breakfast didnt finish until 10am. We then discovered rooms lock automatically at 10 and on return at 10.10 we were locked out.
The rest of our stay was fantastic with great staff , great food and lovely bar and relaxing pool area. Shame about the down points. Sent 3 emails to Hotel. No reply ???

Dear Teresa C, Firstly, we would like to thank you for choosing our hotel to spend your holidays. With reference to your comment regarding the room, we would like to inform you that as it is published when you make the booking we have different rates depending on the type of the room and the view. On the other hand, we would like to mention that the check-out time is at 12.00h and we would like to apologize if a member of our staff went to the room on your departure date but she though that you had already left the room and it was empty. We came several years ago to the area and we saw the hotel and thought it looked lovely, so here we are now living in Spain and it was my birthday on Saturday so my treat was to stay here for a night, We had a lovely view on the first floor, We arrived early in the afternoon and thought we would try to check in and the Receptionist was very helpful and checked us in with no queries, We also paid extra for the secure parking which was great even though there is lots of parking on the street its just safer knowing our car is fine, Well, the hotel is situated between two bays... Stunning.. Say no more! I had a perfect birthday, Room with a view, Clean, Big beds, Toiletries which if I'd realised I wouldn't have packed mine!! Great service and Breakfast Buffet was plentiful, lots of choice, and a few people were enjoying the cava which was there for the offering! We are already looking to go back for Hubbys birthday.. We also walked around to Cabo Roig and walked to La Zenia boulevard on the evening... Only took us a 20min walk!!!

Last September we stayed at Los Alcazeres and had a great holiday (I would have left lots of reviews but I locked myself out of trip advisor). Anyway this year we decided to holiday at La Zenia staying at the Servigroup hotel. The hotel is beautiful, clean and spacious. The staff are really nice and friendly. The hotel is located on the beach which is lovely and clean. A short walk from the hotel is the shopping centre which we all loved visiting. At the shopping centre there are loads of shops like Primark, C&A, H&M and Alcampo (massive supermarket). There are also loads of places to eat and drink including Burger King & Subways. There is also a pizza place, kebab house, tapas bar and steak restaurant. Throughout the shopping centre there are play grounds. Hand sanitiser is everywhere, everyone was wearing masks and there were plenty of security guards. If you travel a little further a field you will find the Vlllamartin square (full of places to eat including a fish and chip shop) and the beautiful golf course.

There is lots of parking on the street outside the hotel, but I imagine in the summer you would need to reserve a space through the hotel in their multi storey car park.
The hotel is situated between two bays, lovely beach. Booked a sea view room which had amazing view. Room very clean, nice big bed, toiletries were included. There were no slippers, bathrobe and no coffee machine or kettle so take your own! There was a mini fridge.
We did see a town (La Zenia) close by but did not have time to visit.
We had an issue with the balcony light which the hotel does not turn off until midnight. It was very bright! staff gave us some blankets for the gap under the black out curtains but it would not be possible to sit on the balcony.
Pool area looked nice although it was too cold for us, I could not see any lounger cushions or pool towels?
We booked half board, we are both vegetarian and although there was a lot of meat we did find enough veggie food to eat, breakfast had more veggie options and was plentiful.
Would definitely recommend.

Stayed in this lovely hotel during February Midterm break. It has beach access down some steps and the food in the restaurant was very good.
We found all the staff friendly and helpful. My son has special needs and as the hotel wasn't terribly busy it worked well for us. I requested a large room on the first floor with sea view. I was delighted on arrival to find that the room had 2 separate sleeping areas. Outer area had 2 single beds and inner area had 2 double beds, so my son was able to find a quiet sanctuary all for himself. We met some lovely holiday makers at the hotel and thanks to everyone for putting up with our noisy son, who can become overwhelmed in public areas. Theres also a lovely spa and wellness centre. Would I return again? Yes I would.

My partner and I have just returned from a weeks stay at Servigroup La Zenia and have to say our stay was super. The staff were very approachable and friendly. Our room on the seventh floor was just what we expected and spotlessly clean. The sea and beach view was amazing (the location of the hotel can’t be beaten). All meals were very well presented with a good choice, albeit slightly repetitive, although there were themed nights which added variety. The only criticism we found was the lighting! More subdued lighting would help the ambience in both the bedroom and the main bar area! Both areas far too bright!

We paid Full Board, 4 adults 2 yr old and 3yr old babies..we had booked a Dissabled room, only one in the whole hotel, this has a view over a domed roof.. what are they thinking.. Omg...Also the hotel advertise they have 2 pools, one outdoor and one indoor..as the weather was poor and raining, we where to find we cannot use the indoor pool unless pay extra €9 each.. this is a disgrace, also advertised a Child play area, that was closed for the whole week. The evening meal time start at 19 30 thats far too late when you have small children. Also staff not very plesent and bar service is rediculas, 2 people serving a full room of people, they dont come to serve you. I would not recomend this hotel to anyone. My family have saved and spent a lot of money coming here and found it very dissapointing..

Dear guest, Thank you for the time you took publishing your comment on Tripadvisor as knowing our guests opinion helps us to improve our service. We are sorry to read that your stay in our hotel was not satisfactory. We would like to clarify that the playground area has not been closed at any time. On the other hand, we have only had one rainy day. The outdoor swimming pools have always been open and our customers have been swimming and sunbathing. With reference to the bar service, we would like to clarify that we have 2 or 3 waiters during the day and 5 waiters at night time. However, we have passed your comment to the corresponding department as our aim is always to improve our service. Regarding the dinner timetable, it is from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., we intend to adapt to all nationalities. We would have appreciated that you had informed us as our staff could have given you prepared baby food that is always available on the buffet or prepared something for you beforehand. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we do hope you reconsider the option of visiting us again in the near future. Kind regards, Customer Service Department. Hotel Servigroup La Zenia.

Turns out yes to parking but there’sa €7 free daily in their secure area. Parking is a premium around here due to the lovely busy beach.
