We took a last-minute deal with very reasonable price and our group of seven stayed in a 4-bedroom residence in the peak season of December. We found everything not only satisfactory but exceeding our expectation. The location is great, only 2 minutes walk to Surin Beach, which is beautiful and not so noisy and crowded as Patong. The residence is spacious and comfortable, well equipped and complete with a large kitchen. It is perfect for travellers who prefer a small/medium-sized hotel, especially for those who want to prepare their own food. There were a few issues when we arrived but they were fixed within a very short time. The food choice in the hotel may be limited but there are a few restaurants nearby with choices of Asian and European food. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this hotel to anyone especially to large families.

The Chava is located on Surin Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket, surrounded by a huge choice of restaurants and amenities. The beach is a very short walk across the park in front of the Chava, and on either side of the resort are shops, restaurants, massage facilities and more. Surin Beach is also only about 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
The Chava has huge 2-3 bedroom apartments, with full kitchens and enormous dining/living areas. The staff are incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It has a large swimming pool, cabanas to relax in and a great restaurant with a mix of Thai and Western dishes. Having around only 40 rooms, the pool and restaurant areas never feel crowded and so the service is efficient.
I would not stay anywhere else in Phuket!

We stayed at the Chava for 10 days over Xmas and New Year and noted some lovely improvements made by the new manager, Paul Jordaan. On arrival we had a large beautifully decorated xmas tree placed in our apartment (the team had checked in advance if we wanted this free service). There's now a water cooler placed on each floor and reusable bottles provided to refill to reduce plastic bottle waste (thankyou!). There were complimentary xmas and new year drinks and snacks by the pool hosted by the new manager. Also, pool floaties and noodles were provided which were frowned on by the previous manager - now enhanced enjoyment of the pool. The staff team are as lovely and helpful as ever and the poolside restaurant has improved and it was already really good. The menu is now more focused and the quality and freshness excellent.
We loved our stay and were even happier than previous visits. thankyou for all the improvements. We will be back.

This was our second visit to the Chava Resort, and it was as enjoyable this time(for New Year) as it was first time round. Great location, fantastic facilities and very friendly staff. Everything we wanted. The accommodations are very spacious and well equipped, we had a Deluxe two-bedroom apartment. The swimming pool has plenty to keep the kids (aged 11 and 8) entertained, whilst the on-site restaurant and bar had a great selection, to suit all tastes. The reception staff managed to organise for us some very enjoyable excursions and couldn’t have done more to help generally during our stay. Surin Beach is a nice sandy stretch, a very short walk away and there are plenty of dining options in the area. We even managed to secure a babysitter for a night out, but that was a pricey night. You will not be disappointed by the Chava Resort, especially if you (like us) avoid the larger, less personal resorts.

The apartment was excellent with plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 12). The kids loved the pool which is mostly quiet deep which was a hit with our two. Much time was spent submersed within it. The breakfasts were fantastic.
Surin is a great location which is away from the bustle of other areas of phuket and as a result feels much more laid back. There isnt rows of tourist restaurants, but there is enough options to get some really good food. If you are after that bustle and shops, Bang Tao (next beach north) is close and should for fill. Surin beach is nice, but pretty busy. Still its big enough to get some space to yourself in the water,
Overall Chava is an excellent choice and highly recommended for a low stress holiday.

We had a family holiday at The Chava in December 19 and this was our second visit there. The staff are amongst the best we have found anywhere in our travels. It is 6 star service, always and the team we saw this time had barely changed from the last time we were there two years ago. Excellence is consistent throughout the resort from The Manager to the Reception team to restaurant and the security team at the front gate! In terms of tours we booked through the Resort and drivers etc, we didn't have a single hiccup along the way. The food is excellent and is very good value. Our kids, in particular, were particularly well fussed over by the kind and gentle Thai staff. A cake for my son's birthday was unexpected and so special as the fact it was his birthday was only uncovered by the clever staff copying our passports as is standard practice. The resort is stunning and meticulously maintained. Location provides everything we need close at hand. Wonderful experience.

Absolutely wonderful stay at the Chava! We (3 couples and 2 singles) stayed a week in one of the 4 bedroom private villas and had one of the best holidays ever. Our second time there and we will certainly be back. Clean, efficient and friendly hotel staff. Excellent food and superb cocktails. Daily happy hour was great. Just outside the hotel are plenty of food options at low cost. And, of course, Surin beach is directly across the road for a beach day, sundowners and great sunsets.

Beautiful complex, lovely spacious apartments with patio area. Nice size swimming pool, bar / restaurant area by the pool. Friendly staff nothing is too much. The food is awesome, cooked to perfection. High standard of cleanliness. Close to Surin beach just a stones throw away, beautiful white sand and clear water, close to near by resorts.

I stayed in Chava for 2 months and I loved it - it's a great location and when I stayed the staff were very friendly. I got to know a lot of the people who were staying there long term, and now they tell me that he new manager called Terence has been stopping their young kids from swimming in the pool (where they have been having swimming lessons), complaining about the kids' behaviour (which is never bad, they dont splash around, they just play hide and seek) and generally being rude to both the kids and the parents, and these people have been staying there for 2 years with no problems before this manager came along. I was going to go back and stay there but now while this manager is there as he has spoilt the whole vibe of the place which used to be good

Yes, plenty of good restaurants either walking ( within 10 minutes) or slightly further away (10 mins taxi) near Bang Tao.
Hi Karen- as indicated already-about 3-5 minutes or 200 metres only away. The beach is now back to normal-from mid October until about mid June-it's beautiful-flat, calm, clean and very appealing for a swim. All beaches on the west coast of Phuket are exposed to the south east Asian monsoon from July till October and can be quite rough at these times-great for a surf !
There are no restaurants allowed on Surin Beach as it was declared a "Royal Beach" in honor of the late King. Nearby at Bangtao Beach there are many, but this is about a 1.5km stroll-a nice walk. There is some nearby convenience stores, souvenir, restaurants, tailors, money changers and massage shops-all within 5 minutes walk.
