There is a reason why this hotel is ***** on TA. This is our third or fourth visit in 10 years and it just keeps getting better. The owner, Denise and her staff, are meticulous when it comes to orientation to detail. She has created such a great atmosphere with living room (communal area) areas at the reception and a bar where you can meet and visit with your guests or others. We met so many interesting people. She thinks of all of the little things and nice touches (complimentary water in the room, daily quotes and weather reports for the next day, coffee in the room with fresh cream in the refrigerator). I could go on and on. The staff are service oriented, responsive, speak good english and know how to treat guests.

The restaurant is phenomenal, better than the Michelin starred restaurants we have tried on our vacation. Outstanding service, wine list and wine recommendations, and creative food. Her menu is very large and has a variety of dishes. Everything we had was a flavor bomb. The breakfast includes a large spread of breads (croissants, brioche, muffins, toast), fresh fruit, fresh apple and orange juices, and a special egg sandwich/pizza, etc every morning. She also serves fresh yogurt and has an al a carte menu as well. Don’t miss her world famous eggs - they are addictive!

She provides an array of option for tours. She also has developed a master class on Barolo wines. We did a truffle hunt and also visited a cheese farm. The cheese farm was such a cool experience and the cheeses were fantastic. She also gives you a list of restaurants from fancy to casual that she recommends.

You go there as a guest and you leave as a friend. Kudos to Denise and her entire staff for the excellent service and for thinking of everything!

I'm not sure if I know enough superlatives to describe this whole experience. We usually stay in brand name five star hotels and on this five-week trip had already stayed in some boutique places that left something to be desired, so we were apprehensive. These concerns diminished considerably when we rounded the corner and saw a magnificent castle like structure sitting on a hill. Our room, Tower Suite #8, was fabulous occupying a complete wing of the 13th century castle. The living room has windows on three sides with a great view and a pleasant breeze coming through. The bedroom is a good size and there are two full bathrooms. The decor and furnishings are traditional but in very good condition, unlike some places we have been. This is as close as we are ever likely to get to living in our own mansion in Europe. Denise, the trans-planted American owner was always on site to ensure that you have everything you needed and in fact all the staff were wonderful. As if all that were not enough the breakfasts were amazing but the true pièce de resistance was dinner. My wife started with seared duck foie gras on a sourdough waffle with sweet corn and wild blueberry sauce and granola crumble - it looked like Joan Miro had painted it. I had 38 egg tagliatelle pasta with rabbit ragu done in white wine with fennel, peas, fave beans and chervi. Both dishes were delicious and generous portions. My wife had a main of Iberico pork chop, sherry lemon jus, spiced carrot purée and oven fries. I had crisp duck leg confit with duck fat fried fingerling potatoes and Barolo green peppercorn sauce. Both dishes looked fabulous and tasted wonderful. In fact the potatoes, a sort of hollowed out french fry were the absolute best we have ever had. We skipped dessert because we were full but it was a difficult decision as the selection was all so appealing. Dinner was not rushed and took 2.5 hours. We absolutely loved everything about this place and look forward to coming back.

We just finished a week long stay at Castello di Sino and there's only word to describe it - magical. It was pretty cool to stay in actual castle. Denise, the owner, rebuilt this medieval castle with every detail in mind. The rooms are good size and well designed. The beds are some of the best we have slept in and the bathrooms are well stocked with nice towels and top notch bath products. The staff at Castello are also extremely courteous and attentive. They offered assistance with any need we had, whether at the Castello or visiting the surrounding area. Then there's the food. Denise is also the chef and our meals there were amazing. If you're heading to Piemonte, a stay at Castello di Sinio is a must.

I cant say enough good things about this hotel/castle. It has been meticulously renovated with extreme attention to detail. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and spacious. We stayed in the Marchese Suite which we loved. But the best part of the experience was the proprietor, Denise. Her ability as a chef and her warm hospitality made our stay extra special. It’s truly a magical place.

Denise Pardini, who originated from the San Francisco Bay Area and has an Italian heritage, has a unique story which could be made into a book but she has no time as she is the perfect hostess, owner, chef and sharer of information of the Piedmont area. She left a Silicon Valley job to move to Italy to learn Italian, fell in love with an ancient castle which was falling apart and made it into a superb hotel with gorgeous tapestries and modern conveniences including heat, air conditioning, elevator and wifi! We stayed for a week on the top floor in a one-bedroom Suite which included two complete bathrooms, sitting area and beautiful art work and furnishing! There is so much to do in the area and it was such a treat to use her home as a base to explore and come back to stay each night.
As others have written, the food is simply delicious! One night we had a seven-course food and wine paring meal which was simply unbelievable in the presentation and taste! I love pasta and it included two different kinds with local sauces. A highlight of our stay was a cooking class in her kitchen which we then ate what we prepared as our dinner. One of the sauces has become a new staple in our kitchen.
Denise is extremely friendly and caring and helps you with any detail large or small for your trip. She even created an individual map for us to highlight the different places we were going in our stay.
I hope that we will come back to Hotel Castello di Sinio as it is one of the best places that we have ever stayed and Denise is an outstanding person which makes the experience so special!

This was our fifth time at the Castello di Sinio. We were a little worry about the Covid-19 effect on the hotel but our worries were forgotten the minute we arrived. The service, the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff was fantastic. The breakfast buffet which was usually served each morning was replaced by individual table service, which consisted of almost everything on the buffet, plus you could also pick extra from a menu, if you preferred. The grounds were manicured and seasonal plants were being planted everywhere. Being located in the Langhe area, winery visits abound and the staff will arrange anything you request. Looking forward to our next vacation to the Castello.

Getting to Sinio from anywhere is a bit of a challenge. Cell/WiFi reception amid the hills and valleys, hairpin turns and local (single lane) roads make for an adventure. But once you reach the top of the hill and find the gate to the Costello, you are in for a treat! The owner, USA expat Denise Pardini and her team, simply get it. A warm welcome, a glass or two of Arnise, a regional wine, a map orientation of the area, and a 15 or so page guide all make you welcome. We were whisked to our room, one of 12 in the castle, and found it to be clean well equipped and most of all, comfortable. Dinner on property is NOt to be missed…Denise and her team offer a varied selection of four course, a la carte options. All we tried were wonderful. Complimentary breakfast had a nice selection of fruit, pastries, something hot, yogurt, as a great start to the day. The concierge prepared tours of vineyards, and every a cooking class, were we worked with Chef to create a four course luncheon. Upon departure, Denise thanked us personally for our stay, and sent us off in the hills, with bottled water, and one of her special recipes and spices. We received a thank you email this morning. What hotel does that? Well, Denise and staff, of course! A very special experience thanks to a fantastic team!

Wow oh wow! Denise Pardini and her incredible staff create an unforgettable stay in the Langhe region. In fact, we have traveled all over Italy, and Castello di Sinio is at the top! Before you even arrive, Denise and her staff take great intention in planning the perfect experience to satisfy all of your heart’s desires- from food, to wine, to sightseeing - Denise and her staff leave no stone unturned. The rooms transport you to the ancient times of the region and every detail is perfected, including the modern luxuries of extra outlets and fantastic air conditioning! Her food was hands down the best we had in our 5 days and 4 nights in the Langhe. She pours her passion, perfection, and pride into absolutely every single ounce of Castello di Sinio. Trust Denise and let the magic of the Langhe unfold!

The Castello was an extremely comfortable, intimate, warm and friendly place to rest one's feet, enjoy a libation, and relax with fellow Barolo wine explorers at the end of a full day. This is a small boutique hotel with unique personality (a castle), a home away from home.

This was my second visit. The staff are impeccable in both their service and welcoming, helpful demeanor. Denise Pardini, owner and host, (and professional chef)
made sure that our stay was perfection. Our meals, breakfast and two dinners, were
of very fine quality, full of flavor, reflecting the Piemonte tradition with a dollop of international cuisine at a very high level. I will return to this "home" in the Barolo country; in a garden setting, it is first class!! Zelma Long

We travelled to Piemonte after hiking in the Italian alps for over a week. It was a very nice little piece of luxury after all of our trekking! Denise and her staff really pay attention to the details. All of the little things they do make for a truly exceptional stay. The castle and the rooms are spotless. What an undertaking to restore this beautiful structure. Right from check in you are treated like a valued guest and offered some local sparkling wine. The staff are very very knowledgeable about the area and are happy to provide recommendations on dinner or winery tours and go the extra mile by arranging everything for you! We stayed for 3 nights and went out for dinner one night. The food that Denise prepares is so delicious we didn't feel the need to go out on our last two nights after long days of exploring the region. The breakfast is also an incredible feast! I can't say enough about the food here! I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Piemonte!! Thank you Denise and team!

Denise, the owner of Castello di Sinio, will address your question in much more depth and accuracy than I can. Ask her when you are there, or contact her by email at castello di sinio.

You made a wonderful choice in Castello Di Sinio. Make sure you have dinner there. We came from Lake Lugano and the Hotel Splendid Royal. Lugano is beautiful and well worth the visit. If you are not heading in that direction ask Denise for her recommendation. She is a great source of information.
