Athenree Hot Springs & Holiday Park is your family park of choice. Located in New Zealand's sunny Bay of Plenty region, at the northern end of Tauranga Harbour. Our all-season Athenree accommodation has a tranquil, park setting with magnificent mature Puriri trees and an abundance of native birds. Great memories are created and a relaxing holiday for the whole family is guaranteed, as well as the family dog (except over our peak Christmas period). There are many activities in the area and we offer several great accommodation options for you to choose from. We have spacious 2-bedroom Motel Units and Deluxe Chalets available (each with Freeview, SKY and Netflix), also Standard, Deluxe and Dog friendly cabins (share park facilities) and we certainly don't compromise on space for camping with our range of tent and campervan sites. Our two Natural Thermal Mineral Pools are free for our guests to enjoy. The pure thermal water feels silky and soft on the skin and is perfect for relaxing in after a long day sightseeing. There is a continuous flow of spring water in the pools, creating bubbles to help soothe away any aches. Both pools are drained and thoroughly cleaned daily so you can be guaranteed a special experience in our chemical free pools.

The service was first class. The TV in our room wasn't working (flickering). I just casually mentioned it to the cleaner. Wasn't a huge issue for us as were not planning to use it. Two minutes later someone turns up to fix it. They weren't able to, so they went out and brought a new TV and had it installed later that day. The next day our youngest had a poonami and soiled sheets and pillows etc. They very promptly changed the linen. Finally we got a call just after we left telling us they found some earrings my partner left behind. They offered to post them to us back home at no cost, which was lovely. On top of that, lovely room, and the pools were excellent.

Awesome, welcoming staff. Great location, short drive to Waihi beach and the small township. A little crowded with all the vehicles, but pleasant and quiet. Loved the hot pools. This is a great alternative to the Top 10 mainstream holiday parks.

We were 5 families with a combo of camping, cabin and chalet. We were put together where possible (smaller unit was in another location as expected) and had a great camping spot under a big tree. 9 kids from age 5 months to 10 years all had a ball in the pool and playground over the road. We kayaked, fished and road our bikes. Perfect kiwi camping trip.

Truly welcoming hosts where nothing was too much trouble. We flattened our car battery while we were there and they even had a battery booster on hand to get us out of trouble. Spotless and well appointed facilities that far exceeded my expectations: the best I have stayed at in New Zealand. An absolute pleasure to stay on one of the powered caravan sites. We had a wonderful weekend away and we will be back.

Friendly staff / manager on arrival. Super clean facilities. Fantastic hot spring pool and adult only hot spring pool. The pool is a bonus for staying guests, included in the price of your stay! Only stayed the one night would of happily stayed on if didn't have to move on!

We stayed 4 nights and had a very relaxing time. The hot pools are brilliant, staff very nice and helpful. The facility's were clean and tidy. Good laundry and very tidy kitchen and BBQ area. Hot showers were great. Its on our list to return!

Loved the friendly park. Great spot by the water. Swans, ducks. Very pretty. Nice chemical free pools. Unfortunately we only had one night but definitely recommend. Will be back next time we come north for sure.

The holiday park size is not too big, but located between two water body, like peninsula shape, which is good. Friendly and welcoming manager, clean shared bathroom, as well as the shared kitchen, it was good overnight stay in our non powered site. Many other local beautiful beaches around this park, the closer are Waihi Beach and Bowentown, you are spoiled with choices. The bonus is hot water spring pool for free, enjoy.

We used a powered camp site for caravan for 3 days. Clean facilities and well maintained. Hot pools great value as included in campsite fee. Great family facilities and close to Waihi Beach and some great walks in the area. Very easy check in process and even had someone walk to our site to show us,

So just home from 7 days in Athenree Hot Springs & Holiday Park What a secret little slice of paradise they have there. Water both sides, a hot pool, and a nice flat site. Great for kids cos at low tide you can go crabbing, there's a playground across the road. Facilities are the cleaness we have stayed at and certainly enough of everything, although then oven was popular in the kitchen and some queuing on new years eve. A number of accomodation options on site. We had a nice site down the back that got a good breeze late in the day. Our site was 9x5m and we got me the mini van, a compass outdoor room and a 2 room tent on it just. Staff and guests were both all super friendly and the place had a lovely vibe. The ice-cream fridge in the office was super popular especially on the nasty blue sky perfect 30 degree days. I loved that one group in had themed meal nights, where they dressed up in clothing and cooked a meal. The two theme nights they did where Mexican and Amercia. On the Mexican night one lady was dressed up in a full size Chilli costume and on the American night there were cowboys and Capitan America and a cheerleader. Both kids and adults were dressed up. Mum went kayaking and the water was crystal clear. I highly recommend Athenree as a holiday destination. We will be back, a autumn escape might be great especially with that hotpool. Best thing, it's 50 mins from home…
