Our stay at Golden Sands was truly wonderful and was by far the highlight of our holiday. The deluxe cabin was beautifully renovated, so warm and cosy and the floor to ceiling windows showing off the view were a fabulous touch. The kitchen had everything we needed, we had a little trouble with the hot water at first but that was fixed by the evening, the location is really unbeatable and the limited light pollution meant stargazing at night was superb. We'll be recommending this property to everyone we know!

Right on the beach, this two-bedroom unit was appointed with (almost) every comfort, missing only kitchen scissors. Oils and spices, pots and pans, and a large fridge made preparing our own meals easy as, and we were well-supplied with towels, blankets, Netflix, outdoor furniture for enjoying the view, laundry, lovely bath amenities—everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Highly recommend.

The accommodation was ideally situated right on the beach with a high level of comfort and a stylish 'retro' feel. There was so much right on your doorstep with beautiful beach walks, nearby Mangonui and all of the far North's many natural attractions within reasonable driving distance. Sooooooo relaxing........

Nothing like waking up to the beautiful beachfront. The accommodations are 5 star in every respect. Had the most relaxing stay with our dog Lena. The shower had great pressure, the bed was so comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessities we needed. Bonus having your own BBQ. We will certainly return. Thank you Rosemary and Brian,

Our studio apartment's view encompassed the full sweep of Cable Bay's golden sandy curve. The interior is cleverly spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Special inclusions like each unit's BBQ, convection oven and an individual welcome sign added to making this a really standout place to stay.

A repeat stay for us as this place really can't be beat for a winter beachfront getaway. The Phoenix Apartments are clean, comfortable and include full kitchen and laundry facilities. They are right on the beach and the views are spectacular. It may be more crowded in summer but in winter it's a lovely fairly secluded location. Hosts are friendly and helpful and the place is pet friendly with free parking. Local cafe also has awesome resident cat and good coffee. On the pricey end but on the whole worth it. Recommended.

The Cabana is beautifully appointed and is, literally, right on the "golden sands" of Cable Bay. Everything you could possibly need is provided and we even had the opportunity to have a glass of wine with the very knowledgeable owner and his son. We will certainly be back.

We just had a wonderful 3 day stay with a total of 7 families staying at Golden Sands and Driftwood Lodge. The large group of kids had a ball at the beach and playing volleyball by day and a mass game of spotlight each night, memories I'm sure that will last a lifetime. We loved that we could bring our dog and appreciated the little treats and towel just for her. Our room (pacific blue) was fantastic and had everything we needed as a home away from home,with lotsof space. We loved the large deck and beach view with the weber bbq and great outdoor furniture. Thanks for a memorable stay.

New Zealand own slice of heaven a resort on the beach amazing views from our unit. The sound of the waves crashing against the sand. A great place to stop rest and unwind. The host Rosemary was very friendly and helpful even coming out in a storm to check on us and deliver us a bottle of water. We will definitely be back .
