This is a delightful hotel with wonderful staff. The owner Emilie provides a wealth of knowledge and warmth. She is ably assisted by Tiff who was fantastic.

The location, surrounded by vineyards, 20 minutes out of Bordeaux, gives a true sense of serenity. With the sun beating down and the temperature 30, the pool was a welcome sight.

The decor is quirky with an interesting colour palate. We ate in the gardens on our first night and the food was excellent. It was a magnificent start to our short time in the region.

Our room, in the new section, was clean and spacious with a lovely outlook onto the valley.

We wish Emilie every success with Villa D'Or.

Serene and tranquil this hotel forces you to stop and take in the surrounding beauty. The rooms are beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds and amenities such as robes and slippers supplied. Relax around the swimming pool, or sit in one of the sitting rooms drinking a glass of wine or cognac. Lovely home cooked breakfast and dinners are available. Close to wineries and Saint Emilion. This Chateau will not disappoint.

Nice hotel in a great location, close to the A10 for ease of travel. Rooms nicely decorated though not the most practical (e.g., no side tables or black-out curtains) and position of rooms in the Annexe meant that they get the full sun in the afternoon and were therefore unbearably hot in the evening, despite air con. Lovely breakfast.

We booked online for the following day stopover during our car trip tour through this area , when we arrived on the due day , to our dismay I was informed by the receptionist that I had mistakenly booked the wrong night through the online App , for which the hotel had charged my card full price for a “no show “
It was obvious I had made a genuine error for which I was duly charged ,which I fully accepted ,the receptionist told us that “luckily “ the hotel did have a spare unbooked room which we could use for the night and she would ask the manager if there might be any discount as my costs had now doubled for a one night stay
Sadly she later informed us that there was no discount so we paid full price twice for one nights stay
The hotel was not full of guests and the restaurant had unbooked tables .
Top Tip ; be careful when you book online to check your information, it was a costly error on my part and the hotel did not compromise at all and did very well out of my genuine mistake

The setting of La Villa d'O is almost exactly what you would hope it to be: rustic, peaceful and serene. Located about 20 minutes from Bordeaux city center, this is an excellent base to explore both the Medoc and St. Emilion. Emilie reached out in advance and confirmed our arrival time and asked if we would like to have dinner on the night of our arrival. Our room was a two floor suite with the bathroom on the bottom floor. The actual bedroom was spacious and had nice views of the countryside.

We had two principal issues with our stay. The first was that the shower had drainage issues and caused the bathroom to flood. We notified Emilie and the next day there was some improvement, but it was never properly functioning. The second issue was the wifi service. If you logged out and logged in and then loaded a webpage it would work briefly but it would cease functioning very quickly after that. Other minor issues were that the nice towels for the shower were never replaced and we were never reminded that there was an extra charge for breakfast. We were fine with paying, but the whole time we weren't sure if there was a charge and there was (15 Euro/person). We also ate dinner at the hotel on two nights and the food was good but not exceptional. There are certainly better dining options in the area for the same or less money.

Overall, we were happy with our stay but improvement on the finer details would have made it just perfect.

Dear MattyA77, Thank you for your precise description of your stay with us. It was a pleasure to have you. I would like to say that two of the issues you had during your stay are now fixed. Indeed the shower had a drainage problem it took us a week to fix it. I am sorry I could not do better during your stay. As for the Internet I finally decided to change the systeme I had, now you only need to put in your name and first name once for internet to work well. It is now in place since a month now and it works perfectly. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here in La Villa d'Ô I wish you all the best. Emilie

Very nice and caracterful hotel. The rooms are in an annex to the beautiful main building which in al old French mansion house. The owner was waiting when we arrived and the service was very good. The rooms are quite modern, not what you expect when you see the main building. It has nice views over the countryside. Peaceful place if you want to relax and visit the bordeaux region. You do need a car though!

Beautiful and charming little hotel. Close to Bordeaux city and easy to visit the rest of the Aquitaine region from. Owner and staff are extremely kind - went above and beyond to help us. Property is stunning with lots of outdoor spaces to relax including a terrace with the room, pool, main breakfast terrace, etc. Recommend it!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights before our flight back to England from nearby Bordeaux and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and beauty of the grounds and pool. The meal each night was of a very high standard with well thought out set menus. We would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to be back in the future.

Rather than booking an overpriced hotel in the city during the European championship, we decided to rent a car and try our luck somewhat out of the city. And this turned out to be a real winner...
I travelled with a friend, and our 8 year old sons. We all had a wonderful time, using the jacuzzi, the pool, the billiard...
We also made a reservation for diner the first night. The cuisine was really excellent, and the choice of wines terrific, and priced very acceptably! They even managed to whip up a children menu for the little ones.
The rooms where very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very nice... nothing negative to say actually... only that my wife now is nagging me to return with her as well.

The price-quality ratio is not good. Nice location with swimming pool and dinner. Room was small for an executive room. Breakfast has limited possibilities to choose and is expensive for what you get.
