Staying at Last Word Long Beach was an absolute treat! It is like having your own beach house. We arrived and soon after headed off for a long walk along the beach, arriving back at sundown to the most wonderful three course dinner with views of the beach. We retired to our room early, to find our room romantically lit with candles and our own G&T station, with delicious local gin. We were expertly taken care of by Fanie and his team and can't wait to return.

We stayed here two nights on our honeymoon and it was an excellent hotel to relax in between busier parts of our trip. The rooms are a very good size and have private terraces with excellent sea views. I’d recommend choosing an upstairs suite to maximise the view. Service was very friendly and we enjoyed having dinner in both nights. Enjoying breakfast on our private terrace with sea views was a special treat.

Awesome location on the beach. Definitely opt for upstairs suites as the lower you have to take in the view through the palisade fence. We had the special offer with dinner included. Food was quite mediocre, perhaps go for eating at a nearby restaurant instead. Overall room was clean but spots on the blanket and moldy shower grouting, let’s the establishment down. Staff were super friendly and helpful so that made up for the small issues. Attention to detail could take this hotel to a 10/10

We only stayed one night and it was way too short! What a fantastic place to stay. Kim and the other staff members made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Just a couple of steps away from the beach. If you are looking for a couple of days close to the beach, this is the place to be. We will be back!

We have just returned from 4 wonderfully relaxing days at this boutique hotel (LWLB), situated right on Kommetjie Beach. We had been in need of a good rest after a busy year, and LWLB delivered. Mornings were spent exploring the peninsula, with lunches enjoyed at some of the understandably recommended restaurants (Harbour House, Cape Point Vineyards and Foodbarn) - all were excellent (see separate reviews). Afternoons were then spent chilling on our private patio overlooking the pool, and going for long walks along the beautiful, clean, surfers' and dog-friendly beach. Service was very good; friendly and efficient yet unobtrusive, and the breakfasts and complimentary seafood dinners were delicious and most enjoyable. The view across the Noordhoek Bay across to Chapman's Peak and Hout Bay, from the dining room and deck is unequalled. The room was very large and clean, with a comfortable king size bed, a well presented bathroom, and a comfortable TV lounge leading out to the patio. Our stay at Last Word Long Beach was very relaxing. The hotel was very private and the room was large and cozy. We had a great view of the ocean and were a short drive from fun sightseeing opportunities at Boulder Beach. We loved that breakfast, dinner and drinks were all included and the food was delicious. Fanie was incredibly accommodating and helpful.

I made a mistake on my side with our booking but Fanie and his team welcomed us with open arms. The setting is just unbelievable and the rooms utmost luxury. Breakfast and dinner were a generous and sumptuous affair and the drinks package which was included in our deal included a fantastic wine selection. Cannot recommend this place more!

Absolutely beautiful. The views are priceless, the beach is with white sand and great for daily walks. The service is amazing. Kim the manager is the most accommodating person who makes sure all your needs are met. Kim is amazing with kids. The Last Word alongside Kim makes this stay one to remember. The reason for missing a star is only because some maintenance is needed. I would come back here any day.

Located right on the beach, Last Word Longbeach is a 6 bedroom gem in a very tranquil setting. The rooms are quite spacious and clean with bathroom and seating area. The view from the upstairs rooms will undoubtedly be better as the bottom views are slightly impeded by sand dunes, we could however still see ocean from bed 😉. Breakfast and 3-course dinner was included and the staff did go the extra mile for our dietary requirements. Smoked salmon for breakfast and halal meat was arranged prior to check-in. On arrival we chose our menu for the two night stay. My suggestion would be to make guests aware to choose their menu for their entire stay or early the next day for preparation purposes, because we did get the same delicious dessert both nights since we didn't indicate anything different. Slight miscommunication here. The complimentary drinks and ample in-room bottled water was much appreciated! The location is amazing! Out the hotel gate you turn right and you are literally on a long, clean beach. Wonderful for walks, runs or just to relax on your hotel beach towel. Being the start of winter and the Atlantic ocean, the water was quite cold, but it appeared perfect for surfers and some brave swimmers. The beach is pet friendly and you might even make a few furry friends yourself. The Slankop lighthouse is an approximate 2km walk from the hotel, along a boardwalk bordering the sea with plenty of seating benches along the way.
