What an amazing place... Incredible beach, remote, relaxed, beautiful, easy going. We stayed in the Mahogany Treehouse Bungalow, which was fairly spartan but uniquely placed in the branches of a huge tree. We loved this place completely.... Until it came time to sleep. The mosquitoes came out in force to make for a horrible night. With that, plus the roosters kicking off at dawn, and a screaming child somewhere in the neighborhood, I got no more than 4 hours sleep, and a dozen welts to show for it. Definitely bring citronella coils and any other forms of repellant you can lay your hands on. It's also worth bringing a cotton sheet to use, as they provide only a fleece blanket for cover. The food in the restaurant was basic but ok, although very expensive (like all the other places we've eaten in Santo). Offset by the champion views from the tables. We rented a car to come here from Luganville, which was not cheap (most rentals were priced at 9000 Vatu per day, about NZD120, regardless of the quality or size of the vehicle). It may be more cost effective to arrange transfers with the owners.

We visited Port Orly Harbour Beach as part of a full day tour & despite the slightly overcast day to spot was spectacular - pristine white sand beach, crystal clear water and at low tide some rock & coral outcrop to explore. We had lunch at the Port Orly Beach Restaurant - if you visit don't be discouraged by the basic appearance when you enter, we had Lobster Mornay and Garlic Prawns & both meals were great. If you get the opportunity make sure you include in you visit to the area.

The location is stellar and the beach is gorgeous. The community is very authentic and welcoming. There is one store but no restaurants apart from the beach huts for tourists. Mattresses were thin and uncomfortable - would have done better with my camping pad. The sheet over the mattress doesn't look like it gets washed between people. It also got a bit crowded with 5 tents all pretty close to each other . Breakfast was free which was nice. Meals otherwise cost 1400-3500 vatu. Recommend the garlic prawns and recommend against the pizza. The staff were lovely. Quieros was very accommodating and nice. We paid 1000 vatu per person for quieros to arrange transport from luganville with his brother, each way. Otherwise I'm not aware of any transportation options from luganville.
