Oyster Island will be closed until further notice. Set on a private 25 hectare island just 2 minutes crossing from the mainland. Oyster Island Resort resides within a Marine Reserve, abundant in marine and wild life. Sandy beaches, tropical rainforest, coral reefs and war plane wrecks make for fantastic snorkelling. Bungalows line the waters edge, each with private decks or patio's, enjoying stunning views out over the calm lagoon waters. Family Vila allow room for parents and children to enjoy the large grounds and gardens and are set off the water for safety. Skilled Chefs serve the very best of local and western cuisine from our waterfront restaurant. Only 20 minutes from the airport and township.

We stayed for a few days, and really enjoyed our time on Oyster Island. The staff are super-friendly, as is the owner who is around daily. The rooms are pleasant, and the shower has hot water on demand, which is wonderful. The island itself is simple and has a few beaches which

We had a fabulous time on Oyster Island for the weekend. The staff were great, the room just right, the food delicious - every meal - and the Island itself just amazing! We snorkeled - saw 2 turtles - and swam, kayaked and walked and had a great time.  In fact we had the most

Place is very good for snorkelling and maybe diving, kayaking to nearby islands or to nearby rivers and blue holes. All that you can do on your own. And yet just a half an hour drive to Luganville and airport, so you don't need to spend lot of time in/out. The island, being

A bit of a late review but it sounds like Oyster Island is heading back to where it was. We travelled in February '16 when Brad and Sarah were still resort managers and they blew us away. We visited one day just to have a look and they convinced us to come back the next day so

Oyster Island was sold and the new owners are replacing the existing buildings and infrastructure with a new development. Completion date has not been announced. Sorry you will be disappointed. This listing is currently being removed from TripAdvisor site to stop confusion.

We also travelled in November and had no problems at all. In fact, I don't recall seeing a mosquito! I usually get mauled too. The bungalows are screened and mozzie coils are provided. We had also heard that there is no malaria in Santo (although there is in Port Vila) -- prob best to check that with travel doctor. Vanuatu is a great place for kids and Oyster Island is particularly child-friendly. You will have a wonderful family holiday.
